She hesitated before leaning against him slightly. "I wouldn't function," she replied. "Without you, I'd still be out there. Alone. Lost. You saved my life, Basel."
He looked a little surprised, looking down at her. After a moment he patted her head. "I'm glad you're here."
She laughed despite herself. "Yes, well... I suppose I am too," she said, straightening up her posture as if remembering herself.
She looked over at him in surprise, her brow furrowing nervously. "Here?" she asked, pointing down at the bed.
"No, no!" she said immediately, panicked that she may be losing the only connection that she had made on the ship. "Of course I will. I just... I wasn't sure that you were saying that."
She frowned, considering him before leaning over and giving him a hug, a new skill she had acquired. "Don't worry. Come on. Let's sleep."
She settled down next to him, still stiff and awkward, but saying nothing as she laid on her side and looked up at him.
He wasn't looking at her. He was staring off into space as thoughts took up his mind. He sighed, finally closing his eyes with a frown.
She frowned at him before scooting over and tentatively resting her forehead on his shoulder, closing her eyes as well.
