She hesitated, squinting as if she were trying to remember the last time. "No, but I was distracted last time."
She shrugged smoothly, her tattoos lighting up in response to his touch. "Well... we're not allowed to leave the Monastery," she replied. "So I haven't seen much of anything."
She frowned, looking off in the distance for a moment before responding. "It's very large," she said after a moment. "I don't mind the cramped nature of this ship, but one can be quite claustrophobic after a while. Every member of my family has a wing and we are isolated to it. My sister lived in the one next to me. We all communicate through speakers in the walls, making decisions, sharing ideas..." She hesitated before shaking her head thoughtfully. "The only time I have ever seen my siblings is through paintings, and even those are difficult; it is believed to be an act of treason to paint the faces of the royal family, so I only know their shapes and dimensions. Specific facial features are blurred, instead depicted as washes of colors."
She hesitated, shrugging slightly. "Well... I mean... Basel, you have to understand... I hadn't seen another human being for my entire life until I was captured. I've just never met them. It's not bad if you're ignorant."
"Oh, many reasons," she said with a shrug. "When we ascend to the throne, the Powers that Be would prefer that we remain reclusive so as to not be influenced by the public eyes. We are to remain modest and humble, as well as compete with our siblings for the throne. It is to make us... well, ruthless might be the right term."
