“It is causing quite a few problems,” she finished, turning to look back at Trevor, who was frowning. “Huh. Don’t tell the captain that,” he half joked.
“Maybe,” he said. “But she’s not exactly patient... Anya, try to find a way to be useful...” Anya frowned, looking down at the food and saying nothing.
Trevor raised his hands defensively. “I’m not saying she’s not worth the time. I just... be careful. I mean, Alex works with the captain all the time. Alex, would you say she’s someone to let a person live on the ship without pulling their weight?”
Trevor frowned and opened his mouth to speak, but Derek interjected, holing to diffuse the situation. “Juliet, this soup is really good.”
Juliet was crossing her arms, looking between the two disapprovingly. "Thank you, Derek. I'm afraid there might be too much salt, though."
Trevor laughed tiredly. “That was bad, Jules.” Anya frowned. “There is not too much salt,” she said curiously, tasting the broth tentatively. “It is very good!”
Trevor stuck his tongue out and Anya frowned. “Goodness...” She shook her head warily. “I do not understand as well as I should. The salt is... metaphorical?”
She brightened at this, nodding slightly. "Oh. Like I have the salt from being in the container. Like that?" Trevor nodded seriously. "Yes, Anya. Exactly like that. Don't change a thing."
Juliet laughed slightly. Basel stood up. "Anya, would you like to come with me to set up the habitat?"
She followed him, giving a small nod of thanks to Juliet. After they left, Trevor started laughing, sitting up straight again. "Basel's got another pet to follow him around."
Juliet laughed lowly. "Eh. I think he enjoys it." Alex got a bowl for Steph, pouring some in and going to bring it to her.
"Does he?" Trevor asked, resting his head on his hand. "He's kinda a reclusive guy... but I don't know. Maybe having a princess be into you is an ego booster."
