Anya was asleep on the couch, a blanket over her body. She slept peacefully as they entered. Derek cast a glance at Anya before looking back at Basel, one brow raised.
Basel turned to them with a small frown. "Her blood doesn't last if she's not in close proximity. What do you need?"
Derek looked over at Amira thoughtfully. "Your friend got loose," he said quietly, his voice a low rumble in his chest.
Amira approached, holding the creature out to him. Basel's expression softened as he picked it up. "Huh. Thank you. Tricky guy," he said, taking it over to the habitat and looking for any escapes.
It was completely as he left it, obviously without the creature. The creature purred and crawled into the cage, curling into a ball.
He looked back suddenly, getting up and rushing over. "Ah.. Just a small mishap." He put it out and cleared the table before returning to the habitat.
Basel could have sworn he saw the creatures eyes narrow in amusement before it hopped down to the ground, trotting over to Anya.
It hopped up on the couch, nosing its way into Anya’s arms and settling down, looking at Basel with those huge eyes.
