He watched her thoughtfully, sitting up as well and resting his hand on her jaw gently. He looked nervous for a moment, but moved forward and kissed her gently.
She stiffened in surprise, blinking at him. After a moment, though, her shoulders relaxed and her eyes fluttered closed, her hand curling against his chest.
She was looking at him, her expression one of shock, her hand coming up to brush over her own lips in awe.
She paused, dropping her hand and clearing her throat. Her tattoos had lit up when he kissed her, glowing with that blue light. "Ahem. I see. That's what you mean."
She looked bashful, her gaze flickering up to him nervously. “I think so... it’s warmth, right? A rushing of adrenaline and...” She places a hand over her heart. “A tightness.”
She averted her eyes, instead looking anywhere else. “And... you’re like... I don’t know. Lighter. Not from the change in gravity, but because... I don’t know. You’re happy. And it’s the feeling that I get when you come into the lab when I’m half-asleep and put a blanket over me, right? That sort of overwhelming... heat, I guess? It’s like a hearth in in my chest. Is that right?”
He relaxed, folding his hands. He didn't say anything for a moment, simply observing her thoughtfully.
She laughed slightly, scooting closer to him again, her hand resting on his waist. "I like you too, Baze."
She flushed, looking at him in embarrassment. “I look all sunken though,” she said, gesturing to the dark circles under her eyes.
