She frowned before reaching into her side pocket, pulling out a bandaid. "Still. Don't bleed all over my ship." * * * She frowned, her shoulders dropping slightly as she looked back down at the ground. * * * "That's fair," he said with a small laugh. "It can get a little boring here."
He took it, tilting his head. "Thanks. I'll try not to." *** He didnt return, his mouth set in a frown as he went to his lab. *** She gave a small smile, leaning back. "Just a little."
She gave him a curt nod, returning to her spot. * * * "Well, maybe we could find you a book," he said, standing up. "Something to entertain you."
He tilted his head before returning to his station as well. *** She looked up at him, standing as well. "Oh? Like what?"
After a few moments, he would hear the sound of sparking on her side. There was a pause before there was a loud bang and Stephanie flew back, hitting the wall behind her. * * * "I'm not sure yet," he admitted. "But we'll find something."
Alex rushed back in, his eyes wide and serious. "What happened? Are you okay?" *** She nodded, following him. "What is your favorite?"
Her goggles were fogged up, but she groaned slightly, sitting up and rubbing her head. "Yeah. That's frustrating." * * * "I always liked The Catcher in The Rye," he replied, looking down at her.
He frowned, approaching. "What happened?" *** She looked at the books around them. "I don't think I've read that."
"The Black Box field won't let me enter without shutting the whole engine," she said bitterly, taking off her goggles and squinting at the machinery in front of her. * * * "I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. Holden Caufield is a hotly debated character in literature."
“You certainly can,” she said, standing, but I can enter it when we stop at our next location. I’m just impatient.” *** “I think we have it around here somewhere...”
The field fizzled around the engine, bolts of electricity crossing over. *** He went down the aisles, looking around.
He pursed his lips, inspecting it before looking at her. "Well, there's a solution to make it not shock you." *** She tilted her head, pulling out a book. "I found it."
"Turn the engine off, yes I know," she said flatly, her hand on her head. * * * "Oh good," he said, sounding genuinely delighted.
Her head jerked up and she frowned, standing up suddenly. * * * He continued to peruse the aisles, his hands in his pockets.
