Rust sighed in relief when the guards passed by, and as he backed up a little he tripped over an old empty can.
He sighed in embarrassment, "Thank you for that," he said, standing at full height now, "We should be good, ready to go?"
"Well, why not the festivl like anypony else? Or do you just want to hang out here?" Rust asked with a smirk, seeing what Rosy wanted to do.
"But won't the guards still be searching?" asked Rosy. "Believe me, I would like to pretend like this never happened, but that isn't always possible."
Rust sighed, trying to figure out a way out of this mess, "I have no blood on me, and where we were last nopony could even see us, I don't know," He looked Rosy in the eyes, "I think it would be best if we stayed here, besides, this could make it easier on us, the large crowds could clear up some after a while and we could go out after the guards are done. Sound like a plan?"
Minutes had passed, and ponies could be heard cheering on in the streets. The Fire in the Sky had begun, and Rust, without hesitation, went up the stairs to the second floor, then climbing out of the window and getting on the roof where he had a good view of the gigantic fireworks. He sat down, watching them steadily, and then yelled to Rosy, "Hey, you coming up or what?"
Rosy climbed up, and viewed the fireworks with a critical eye. Out of all the memories she had of her childhood, this one was the most important to her.
One after the other, a large explosion took place in the sky in various colors and shapes, one of a star, another in a cube, one in a heart, and another in a wizard- Wait they had wizard shapes? rust looked, so this is what all of that commotion was about? It seemed nice actually, it relaxed him rather then excite him.
Rosy grinned. This year did not disappoint. Once the show was over, she turned to Rust. "Do you think it's safe now?"
Rust looked down to the streets after a few minutes, which were near to empty. No guards, and shopkeepers were staying open for midnight strollers, "Yeah, it seems clear."
Rust climbed down as well, getting on solid ground, he would sigh, "Well, that was nice." He liked the Fireworks, the festival not so much due to the interaction between him and that stallion, but, that was in the past now.
"You don't attend the festival often?" she asked, curious. She figured that everyone in the valley had attended the festival every year.
"Like I said before, I never go because I work constantly," Rust replied rather quickly. He didn't know whether he wanted to stay or go, "But, I will stay if you want to stay as well."
"Well, I am going to be doing whatever you want to," Rust said, "I have nothing better else to do, so might as well stay here with you."
