(All right, that's 4/7. The ayes have it. The dong will now count!) ~Taken from OOC chat. Intrude sat in the waiting room, her head in her hooves. She had just finished a glass of water, and some bread. She would need the sustenance.
Julion stared at the launch tube in front of him, his coat seeming to press down on him as he got more and more anxious. He then began the steps he learned in the Peacekeeper's training to destroy fear and anxiety. "I am Julion Trupa, future Commander of Peacekeepers. I will make it through here and prove my worth, even if the last thing I do." he told himself while taking deep breaths. Confidence restored, he stepped into the tube when he heard, "Launching in thirty seconds."
A deep breath. 5...4...3...2...1. The glass tube shot, and Intrude closed her eyes. She opened them and stared into blankness of the arena. Whiteness everywhere. The ground was there, and there were trees, but everything seemed made out of mirrors. Everything was reflective. The ground was not flat, with dips, and hills everywhere. In front of them sat the Cornocopia.
Julion smiled at the terrain, his coat would be perfect camouflage in this place. As the sixty seconds began before the start of the Games in order to allow the cameras to pan through every tribute. He turned his head to Intrude, and just barely nudged his head towards the forest, reminding her off her part. He turned his attention back to the Cornucopia, In and out, in and out, he thought. He saw a sword near a couple spears and a bow and arrow set. Fifty yards in front of him was a saddlebag, he instantly planned out his path. He would grab the saddlebag, then run close enough to the cornucopia to where he could grab them with his basic levitation. The announcer hit thirty seconds and Julion prepared to run as fast as he has ever run, which is pretty fast, for somepony of his size.
Intrude saw Julion nod toward the forest and took a deep breath. She listened. "5..4..3..2..1.." Now. With a burst of speed, she ran out into the glass forest. The district 4 mare ran that way too. Intrude mind blasted her and made her go towards the Cornocopia instead. A big stallion with a knife stepped in front of Julion. He smirked.
Julion ran like never before, closing the distance between him and the saddlebag in a matter of seconds. Seconds later he reached the Corncopia, and was grabbing the weapons when he heard a pony yelling behind him. He turned just in time to land a solid backhoof on some poor stallion. Then the last thing the stallion saw was Julion's red eyes as he drove his sword through his throat. Julion then booked it to the forest, being mercifully left alone after getting first blood. He finally came to a halt just around where Intrude was. Playing to any cameras he said, "You know I know your there. And you should know that you wouldn't last in a fight with me. But, we might just be able to help each other…"
Intrude stared from behind the tree. "Fine." she said in a clear voice. "As much as I dislike you, we can work better together." she sighed. "Alliance?"
Julion nodded, "Alliance." he then tossed her the bow and arrows, "Here, now stay in front of me, we will want to get as far as we can from the Cornucopia." he said facing northward.
Julion shrugged, "We'll find out later. Right now, we need to focus on the essentials, most notably water, and high ground."
She nodded and set off at a quick pace. A mile further in and suddenly, Intrude slips and disappears from sight with a shriek. She fell into a big opening of a cave.
Julion's eyes opened wide, "What the?!" he exclaimed, then he heard a gravely voice behind him, "And it's only going to get worse." a black stallion grinned evily. "Your-your not a tribute, I've never seen You before!" Julion replied, backing away carefully. "You are correct, I'm not a tribute. I'm one of the Gamemakers 'special tools'." the black stallion replied, "I am Lanius, aka, your worst nightmare." Julion levitated out his sword and javelin, "You don't scare me." he sneered. "Oh, but you should be scared, very very scared." the almost like a bouncy ball he bounded off trees, closing the distance between him and Julion in a flash. The force of the stallion's bodyslam sent Julion flying back, and right into the cave in which Intrude had fallen. "Hehe, good luck you two, may the odds be EVER in your favor!"
Intrude moved slightly. She shook soldier. "Soldier.. Soldier, wake up.." she said. She looked up and saw a dark unicorn staring at her. She laughed cruely and leapt into the air. With a shriek, a dark blue shield covered the top of the pit.
Robin hoof rushed for the centre grabbing two bags oneforof and one for gia. "there you go, now what's in here" he opened his bag and there was a crossbow, bolts and a empty flask. "gia take to the trees there we will be covered by the leaves and have a Hightower advantage". He grabbed gia and started climbing a large tree. - - Auto Merge - - "so gia it seems like you've got a simple sickle and shield in your bag plus rope and finally a White helmet with a golden plume".
(Heya Cobra, do you think it's possible we could not add the necklace? I know it's hard when Gea isn't on much, and you have to create the District 12 storyline yourself. I just think that this is how another Hunger Games would be in The Pony universe, not a reeanactment of the one in the first book.) When the gong first sounded, Aqua ran. Her horn glowed, and the ground rumbled, and water began to rise. It swept away a few ponies, though most could stay standing, and a dagger in it's holster was brought to her. Facade was surrounded by a bubble that could protect him for a short while.
Julion looked at the food and the flowing, clean water, "I don't know, it seems almost too good to be true...But I am willing to take that risk. I would suggest that we leave here during the day, then at night retreat back into here where the darkness will shroud it, despite the reflectiveness of the arena."
"I say we take stock, prepare for tomorrow, etc." Julion said, slinging off his weapons and the saddlebag. As he opened the bag, he looked up to Intrude and asked, "What are we going to do once the number of tributes reaches let's say 10, or 5, hell, maybe even 3 or just us, if we survive that long. If one of us was to kill the other, let's agree right here and now, to make it quick, painless, and honorable. No lopping off the others head, that kinda thing."
