Sun woke up. She watched Dark for a short time, quiet. Finally, she spoke up. "Let's go." she said, her voice quivering slightly.
They walked through the forest for a while. "Stay here." she said. "I'll be right back." she came back a few minutes later. "Let's see what we can do here." She dug a hole in the ground. It was almost 6 feet down when she was done. She hopped in, and took the mirror leaves. She lay them over the pit, and looked at it for a while. "Yep. Ok. This is our shelter for a while. You should sleep." She dug something in the shape of a bed and sat patiently, waiting for him to sleep.
Dark stood for a moment and examined the hole, then back to Sun. "Well, if you wanted to kill me you could have just said so," Willow spoke without fear. "I really did not want to fight you until the end. I don't understand why you don't trust me though." Dark's eyes shone as he pulled out the dagger.
Sun looked at him in surprise. "What are you talking about? We said that I would take day, and you would take night. I assumed you would be tired." she took a step back, slightly fearful. "Now, get back."
Dark sighed in relief. "Oh, sorry about that. You can't fully trust somepony though. Not unless you wan't to get stabbed in the back," Willow told Sun. "I think i can trust you though." Dark passed Sun the knife and went to sleep on the bed.
Sun put the knife down. She shook her head in disbelief. "And you can't trust me?" she laughed slightly. She then began to dig, every once in a while checking on Dark.
Julion looked around at the place he and Intrude had stopped to take a break, it was a nice hidden clearing on top of a hill that overlooked virtually the whole arena. They could see the Cornucopia and the small shapes of the Careers making their camp for the Games, as the sun set in the distance, Julion suddenly chuckled, "Just think how beautiful those who come to visit the Arenas will think this place is. And here we are, in the place of our likely death."
Intrude thought about it. She laughed quietly. "I wonder if any of them imagine themselves in the games?"
"Probably, but their imagination is probably nothing close to the reality." Julion took a quick peek at the sun's position in the sky and added while getting up, "An hour before sunset, we need to get on back to the cave."
Intrude stood up. "Of course." she began trotting towards the cave. Finding it, she sat by the door. "I'll keep first watch." she said.
Julion nodded, "Remember, keep hidden, and only reveal yourself if they directly threaten the cave, in that event, make as much noise as possible to wake me." he said, before disappearing into the cave, "Oh, and once the moon is half-way across the sky, come get me." his voice echoed from the cave.
Nodding, Intrude watched. After about an hour, she saw a dark mare walking through the forest near the cave. She got her horn ready to send a message, but waited for the mare to actually attack. She left soon afterwards, so Intrude continued to watch. She watched until the moon was high in the sky, then got Julion. "Soldier? It's your turn. Be careful. That black mare was here earlier..."
Julion, "And I expect that the black stallion will be there for me." he said between a yawn. Snapping out of it, he clambered into a perfect hiding spot and his eyes turned red as he scanned for any sign of trouble. Occasionally, a black shadow would dash between the trees, but nothing major. Julion's eyes stayed wide open until the sun first pepped out from the horizon, after which, he went down into the cave to catch some extra z's, best to keep watch inside the cave during the day than out in the open.
Intrude woke up, and sat by the entrance. Glancing back at Julion for a moment, Intrude turned into the sunshine, and peered out. Spiders surrounded the place. Spiders, 4 of them, each as big as Intrude's hoof to elbow. She gasped, and ran to get Julion.
Julion nodded as he listened to what Intrude had to say about the spiders. His mind whirled as he thought up a battle plan before finally settling on something, "Well, these are obviously a Gamemakers trick. So, we shall play the role of spider, and they of the prey. Have you ever heard of the trap spider? It hides in a hole, waiting for its prey to come close, then in a flash, it jumps out, kills it, and drags it inside it's cave. We shall be the trap spider. We shall move with suddenness and ferocity, we shall take them out, one by one."
Dark finally awoke once it hit sunset. He dug himself out and nodded to Sun. "Ahhh, refreshing! We should go on at 4 AM tomorrow. It will be dark outside but in an hour or two it would be sunlight. Yeah?" asked Willow, picking up a leaf and checking where the wind was blowing.
She nodded, then yawned. "Do you mind if I sleep a little? I've been digging all night." She held up her dirty hooves and laughed.
