Julion shook his head ever so slightly, mind control eh, let's see how see how she likes this. He thought, before excusing himself from the mentor and acted like he was leaving the car, eyes turning full red as he passed by Intrude. Her mind proceeded to become completely blank, and she no longer felt in control, Trust me, don't make me your enemy before we even reach the Capitol. I have trained for the Peacekeepers for 8 years now, do NOT mess with me. I'm offering a wondrous proposal, so please, don't ruin it. and when Julion had left the cart, the sensation of blankness suddenly faded away and she was back into full control of her mind. "Something wrong?" the mentor asked.
Intrude smiled. "I'll be right back. Please excuse me." She walked towards him. Keeping up her smile, she took a deep breath. "I am not trying to attack you. Listen to me. Listen to our mentor. Otherwise, you won't have time to make an alliance. I don't know about you, but I want to live. My brother needs me. He is a filly, without his mother. I need to get back to him." Closing her eyes, her voice became gentler, almost kind. "Look, before we go back to our mentor, we need to be a little more sympathetic to each other. You and I are just ponies. Equal, except of you becoming a peacekeeper, from what the Peacekeeper who parols my street says. Please." her eyes are pleading.
Julion looked Intrude squarely in the face, "You don't think I don't know that? I saw what happened when your name was called, how your brother reacted. But let me tell you something, I honestly don't care. Family means nothing to me. Sob stories do nothing but eat up time. Sure it might get you a couple extra sponsors, but not enough to make a difference. Here's how I see it, we get in there, live as long as we can, and kill when the time is right. I do not have any true emotion kid. All of what you see, it's all for show! I do not CARE, I don't care about ANYTHING! In the grand scheme of things, does it matter if I win or lose, no, probably not. The Hunger Games are a machine, it does not care for your stories, or how well prepared you are. I've watched enough of them to understand that. I've seen the year when the most favored to win was taken down by a spear to the LEG! I will fight my death as hard as I can, for as long as I can, but when my time comes, it comes." Julion sighed and sunk into his chair, "Listen kid, well I hope you don't mind me calling you that as I do not know your name for sure quite yet, anyways, just do as I do, and you will be fine." Julion then got up, "But I guess we should head back."
Intrude stood up sharply. "I am not asking for your sympathy. I am simply asking for us to be a little kinder to each other." she sighed. "I don't want to mess up your plan. I'll join you if you're still willing to let me. Come on. Let's head back."
Julion nodded, "That would be best." then he headed back to the car that the mentor was in, "Sorry about that, we just needed to talk some things over ourselves before continuing." he told her.
"Well, there is no telling what your environment will be, so be prepared for the worst. Underwater, Forest, Mountain, the possiblilities are endless. What are your skills other than magic and cutie marks?"
"Mind Hacking." Julion said, "I can take complete control of ones mind once they look at my eyes, which isn't too hard when they aren't expecting it."
"Only when they look into your eyes? What if they got damaged, and your horn broke? Do you have any other combat skills, such as archery, hand to hand, or flexibility?" She turned to Intrude. "I'll attack you next."
"I have been training with the Peacekeepers for a long time, so all of the above with the skills. And it doesn't matter if I lose my horn or my eyes, as long as one is functional even in the slightest form it will still work, albeit a bit harder." Julion told the mentor.
The mare nodded. "Now you." she turned to Intrude. "Skills?" Intrude hesitated. "I'm not great, but I can do a bit of mind control. As for physical, I can do ok with flexibility. I can get by. I'm pretty fast, though." The mare stared at her. "Well, we'll figure it out then. You have to work on the flexibility. It can save your life." - - Auto Merge - - Intrude nodded. "Ok." (I'm out. Tomorrow will be District 5. ) - - Auto Merge - - District 5 reaping! The clock dinged over District five. 6:00 AM. Time to wake up and get to work on a normal day. But today was the reaping. Not normal at all.. Aqua woke with a shriek. She had been dreaming that it was the reaping, and that she had been chosen. Of course, that wouldn't happen. She padded into the brook and swam for a while. It cleared her head.
Facade jumped as the bell tolled the certain death of two ponies in the District. He hadn't been able to get much sleep, for he was always fearful he would be picked. With a deep breath he swung out of his bed and trotted to the washroom to begin cleaning himself up and pick out his one dapper suit to wear to the Reaper. He prayed the world wouldn't have to see it.
Aqua got out of the brook and shook herself dry. Using her horn, she combed her wet mane, and let it dry into its wave like doo. Too soon, the clock stroke for the reaping. She got up, whispered a good bye to her brook in a raspy voice, and left for the courtyard.
Facade's ears twitched as he heard the bell toll. With a sigh he walked out and stared into the sun. It seemed like a warm day, but he shivered as a cold feeling swept through his body. He was frustrated, knowing he had a good chance of being drawn for taking the food. He cursed under his breath as he walked towards the Reaping area.
Eyes wide in the courtyard, Aqua sat fearfully. She was twitching furiously. Eyes flashing, she nervously looked towards the ground. When she was scared, she tended to activate her power.
Facade sat in the rows, staring at the stage intensely. "So many stallions here...What are the chances I'll be picked?" He said to himself softly. He didn't come close to believing in himself.
"Hello, and welcome to the District 5 reaping!" said cheerful Pink Pushie, hopping up to the podium. "Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be EVER in your favor. Now, here's a message from the Capitol." The boring old annual movie explaining how the Hunger games came to exist came on.
Facade sat, his eyes glazing over as this move came on. His mind had absorbed and memorized all the information the video could ever give him. His anxiousness quickly turned to boredom as his eyes scanned around trying to find something interesting to focus on.
The movie quickly came to an end, and Pink Pushie ran to the big globe. "Ladies First!!!" she trilled. Putting her hoof into the ball, she pulls out the fortuned piece of paper. "Aqua Rise!" she calls clearly. Aqua blinked. She couldn't help it. The ground rumbled a bit, and small puddles appeared everywhere. She took a deep breath and walkedto the podium. Shaking. "Now the boys!" called out Pink. She reached into the bowl, and pulled out a name. "Facade Quillmane!"
