"Thanks." Winter replied, "You know, first chance I get, we're going to get married and move in, that was the original plan, but then the whole four nations thing happened and now we are seperated." Dark looked towards the horizon and saw the gleaming South Cloudsdale, "We're almost there." Dark said. "Hey Firebreeze, you probably know the city better than either of us, so you'll have to lead us there."
Firebreeze laughed a bit, "Ironically, I've hardly ever gone to Cloudsdale, but, luckily, I do know where the hospital is. This way!" Firebreeze lead the two to the hospital, which they quickly entered.
As Kleft left his new "home" that he would be temporarily staying in, he took a quick look at the address of where he was to be heading. It was an odd one, but the Western nation must have had a separate adressment system. He made sure he would not appear in the middle of the street, than teleported nearby to where it was. Making sure nopony saw him, he wandered up to the front door of the cottage. "An odd place to her to live, to be honest." he said under his breath. "I thought she was some sort of government brain or something..." When he was sure he was set, he cleared his throat and hit the door. No response. He smacked it again, to the same response. Frowning, Kleft looked in the window. "Why wouldn't she be here? I thought she was on government leave for something?" Kleft said again. Suddenly realizing he look ridiculous, he backed into one of the alleys for privacy, before teleporting inside. Looking around himself, he noticed there was literally nopony inside. The place was barren. 'Time for snooping!' he thought. First, he went up to a desk and pulled one of the papers off and read it. What he was reading shocked him so hard he dropped it. All he could do was stare at the piece of paper that now sat on the floor with horror. "She's...PREGNANT!?" he said, close to screaming.
The receptionist looked up to see three ponies enter the hospital in quite a hurry, "What's the rush? Name and business." she said. "Winter Warmth, I am here to see my baby born, her name's Snow Mark." the receptionist did some typing on her computer, "Well, looks like you missed the birth, but it was just an hour ago. She's in the nursery with the baby on the East Wing." Winter thanked the receptionist and led the group down the halls, following signs pointing them towards their goal. They reached the room and went through the door, all that divided them from the kids was a plane of glass. Winter looked around and saw Snow sitting quietly next to a crib. He gently tapped on the glass and Snow looked up, she looked like she hadn't gotten any sleep for a day or two, but still had a small smile on her face. She gently picked the baby up and held it for them to see and mouthed, 'Its a boy." He was a unicorn with a light blue coat and a red mane streaked with blond, but his eyes were closed, concealing their color.
"Well for once I am able to look at your face and smile." Dark jokingly said, "But congrats on the baby. You two made a great baby together, guess I have to apologize now, huh?" "No it's fine Dark, just you taking me here was more than enough."
Kleft rummaged through her desk some more, looking for some kind of reference as to where Snow could be right now. "Bills, foreign affairs...what's this?" He swiped up another address, this one in a seemingly more odd location than the last. "Worth a shot." He thought aloud. Mustering up even more strength, he vanished from his location and arrived directly outside a hospital. What? A hospital? That couldn't be right. He went inside to find the lobby empty except for an exceptionally bored looking receptionist. "Excuse me," Kleft asked. She turned and glared at him. "I was wondering, is there anypony by the name of Snow Mark in here?" She only continued looking at him, before saying "You here to see the foal too? She's in the nursery; east wing." Whoa, she had already given birth? This was pretty scary for Kleft to handle, not having contact with an old friend for so long. Rather than rushing, he thanked her and casually walked to the nursery. Just before he arrived, he realized what she had said. 'Here to see the child too? Who else was...' he pushed open the door... ...and looked directly into the face of the saboteur.
Winter heard the door open and saw a fimilar face, the pony he had frozen and tryed to kill. "Look, let's not do anything rash hereā¦" Winter said, "That's my kid over there, you really want to attack me when my baby was just born?" he said backing up. Inside the nursery Snow looked up and saw another pony had entered the room, and was getting in the face of her Winter, "Is that Kleft?" she asked quietly to herself. She put her baby back in the crib and quietly crept out of the room, "Kleft, what are you doing?"
Kleft was stunned by who stood in front of him. "What is- I don't even-" he stuttered. "YOUR CHILD!?' He said, suddenly becoming beat red with anger. He threw a look at Snow, but quickly returned his attention to Winter. "You destroyed our island, murdered innocent workers, even assaulted me in broad moonlight, and you have relations with my only living friend!?" He looked around the room one last time, before turning and storming out of the room. A small explosion could be heard as he teleported back to his home. Kleft reappeared in his room, and instantly screamed to get his fury out of him. Just for Snow's sake, he had used all his willpower not to slay the pony on the spot. "I can't believe this, I finally have him, but I let myself go!" He had trained himself since he was only a foal to control his mind and emotions, only to throw that training out the window. Perhaps he was no longer fit for work, maybe the Infinity Gate had done something to him. But what could have that effect on him? He had no idea. That was it, nothing. All that extensive psychological research gave him nothing. "I just don't know what went wrong." He said to himself, as he lay on the floor, unsure of anything.
Snow had a worried look on her face, "Winter, can you watch over him for me, I'll try to talk to Kleft." she left the room and cast a spell to trace his teleport, "Alright, let's go." she said to herself, and teleported in front of Kleft. "Hey Kleft, I'm sorry I couldn't have told you sooner Kleft, and I'm sorry for what ever Winter did, but that's his job." Snow said trying to calm him down.
Kleft slowly turned towards Snow. At this point in time, he really had no care that she had easily tracked his teleport. His eyes were now stained with tears that had flown down his face. "Why?" He asked, simply. "Why somepony like HIM?" He shook his head. "There's a difference between doing you job, and overdoing it. As I was looking through your desk, and I admit, I DID break into your house to find you, I saw something about Winter's orders to spy on Lunar Island. I didn't care much for them at the time because they were over seven months old and outdated. His name is Winter, isn't it? I'll tell you something, he didn't just spy, he wreaked havic and destruction. He even set a fire that killed two farmers." Kleft reached into a nearby sack and extracted a small note, then, slower than before, handed it to Snow. "Recently, he set my camp on fire, killing our commander and two guards. THIS was sent crashing into my face. Why does he do it?' Kleft got up and stared at the cieling a moment. "I just don't understand..." he wandered off into his bedroom, where he collapsed upon his bed, all tears spent.
"He does it because he doesn't have a choice, remember, he is ruled over by Celestia. And besides, I met him before this whole mess even happened, and he was one of the nicest stallions I ever had the pleasure to meet. Kleft, I'm truly sorry about all he's done, but I bet if you were in a similar position as him, you would probably do the same." Snow said trying as hard as she could to calm down Kleft, "Now come on, I wanted my baby's birth to be happy! Not trying to cheer people up, come on, even my best friend Dark was able to set aside her rivalry with Winter for today, why can't you?"
"I DID set apart my quarrels with Winter." Kleft said, voice muffled from his mattress. "On any normal circumstances, I would have slain him on the spot for his crimes against Lunar Island. I couldn't give a damn about the Lunar nation, I just want things to be the way they used to." Kleft pulled himself up and looked Snow in the eyes. "I was sent here to recover the plans the nation of the West had for attacking the Lunar nation by means of my friendship with you." As soon as he said it, he hated himself even more. Why the hay did he just reveal himself to her!? Was he having a mental breakdown or something!?
Snow was taken aback, "You were, going to take advantage of my trust?" tears welled up in her eyes, "Kleft, how could you? You really think Heculius wants to invade anyone?! Kleft, maybe you shouldn't have come to the West Nation. This is for the best." and Snow dissappeared with a soft flash of light. Within minutes several guards burst through Kleft's door, "You are banished from the West Nation spy. Lady Snow reported your plans, now come with us." they said grabbing his arms, "Your lucky she's your friend though, or else you would find yourself on the chopping block instead"
(An odd thing happened to me a moment ago...) Spoiler: wut I think it's a sign. I'm off to bed, so this'll be my last post of the night. Also, so many Drama Llamas! I feel like I've accidentally created an Edward-Jacob scenario. Awkwaaard! "Go ahead!" Kleft yelled. "Throw me on the guillotine! Not like it matters any more! I'm a useless wreck!" The guards pulled him roughly, which really ticked him off. Suddenlyy, and without warning to Kleft or anypony near him, Kleft's emotions smashed the barrier he had set up over the past 20 years. "AAAAUUUGGGG!" Kleft screamed. His horn obtained three seperate auras and his body began to glow. He had totally lost it, just as he had on the Ragnarok. "What-" one of the guards began to shout, but was interrupted. Kleft exploded. Every guard ahold of him was thrown back 20 feet and stunned. By the time the dust had cleared, Kleft had been replaced with scorch marks and ashes, telltale signs of a teleport so powerful he'd be out for months. His target destination: Lunar Island. (For those of you who were in the End War RP, this is the catastrophic event that leaves Kleft unable to display emotions.)
Snow appeared back in the nursery, "Sorry about that." she said yawning, fatigue finally setting in. Winter stood next to Snow, allowing her to rest her weight against him, "You should get home dear, you need to rest." he said. Snow blinked sleepily and nodded, "Let's go." Winter turned to Firebreeze on their way out, "Thank you, for coming that is. And for all that you've done for her. We should get the ok to come get the little guy in a few days, so if you want to visit to see him, then is it." and the couple left the room, leaving Dark and Firebreeze alone. "So what now?" Dark asked Firebreeze, all that had happened in the past few hours has left confused and wishing for downtime.
