Compartmentalized society? That probably won't die for a while. As long as there are differences, people will simplify the infinite spectrum with stereotypes, just as we call the infinite shades of light one of several colors. However, when we all become the same, then we have died as a species, or become perfect, if you consider those to be different. Either way, humanity will become more boring.
Not disputing that, I was merely explaining how and why people are 'gay', proving information to those unsure. We're far from perfect. We've got enough problems already without people discriminating against others based on what they find attractive.
Perhaps we need to make a "labels" thread to discuss all of that. The name of this thread is the gay thread, so it was likely put together with the idea that the "label" gay was something that could bring people together. To naysay that idea seems to go against the point of this thread a bit, I think. I'm not saying that to insult anyone's view point. You are all very wise in your opinions on the matter, but this is, perhaps, not the place to go on about it?
I look forward to it! \0/ I almost did it myself, but I think it should definitely be your thread. You're Far more passionate about it. ^_^
Huzzah! Now back to the topic at hand! I found this image while browsing around today. I know it's G1s but I thought it was adorable. I'm going to have to save it and keep it around for June! I also found this... I think I'm in love. So pretty. <3
Honestly I find it fairly annoying that rainbows have been associated with the gay pride movement, it's nothing against the movement but it at times makes the color pattern, which is quite appealing to anyone regardless of their gender or sexuality, a bit inaccessible to people who aren't trying to make a statement :/
Always been confusing as to why the Rainbow is associated with gays. I see straight people admiring rainbows all the time... Of course, I'm just taking that outta context. *Shrug* I'm stupid like that. *Doink*
There's actually a pretty interesting story behind it and all the colours represent something different, kind of like the Elements of Harmony. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_flag_(LGBT_movement) View attachment 2044
Its not the fault of the movement, its the fault of the people who associate everything to do with rainbows with the movement. Red is the color of the Communist Party, yet we don't associate all red objects with Communism. So no, its not the fault of the LGBT movement for choosing Rainbow (there is a backstory to that), its the fault of the bigots that instantly associate it with that.
And yet for a long time people did, and in my school some people still do. Admitedly, most are either trolls or hipsters.
Now, If I were intentionally misinterpret this Conversation, I would come to the conclusion that the Red stripe on the flag symbolizes Communism. ... However, Being rather less than knowledgeable in such matters, I must remark it is unlikely that 16.667 or 14.28571 is the percentage of Communists Among people that identify themselves as LGBT. ... As to slowly fading, Perhaps. Some people I know are morbidly terrified of rainbows. Albeit for a variety of reasons, Yet my point still stands.
