"No, alicorn magic doesn't work that way." Luna said after he said that "Can we see the furniture you have?" Luna asked him afterwards
"We literally have anything you can imagine. In your closet is a canister and a circlet sits on top of it. Open a window, place the circlet on your head and thing think of what you need and it will be created. My own unique sort of magic." Actually it was femto-scaled machines, but the residents didn't need to know that. Lio smiled as his creativity. Then he frowned thinking maybe he should remove the canister from Discords room. The femtites were programmed not to affected living things, but unlike the glass the house was made from the machines could be altered by Discord. "If you don't open the window the air can get rather thin in the room, also make sure to close it afterwards to seal the room. An open window is like an open door and can allow magical intruders."
Luna nodded. "Alright." She wanted to know what kind of magic would do tha, but she was to sleepy to ask anyways. "Thank you."
Discord clicked his talons, and the table, towel and dealer's visor all disappeared. He raised an eyebrow as he noticed the filly to whom he'd given the muffin was no longer crystalline, but then shrugged; a mystery for another day. He headed inside the house. Up, up, up the stairs he went, and then, into the corridor. Standing outside the locked door to his room, he decided to test the magic-proof nature of this material; he focused on teleporting into his new room, but instead wound up back in the corridor, only this time upside-down. Clearly Lio had been telling the truth.
"Thank you." Discord relayed himself to his correct standing position. "Notice how I tried this on my own door? I'm learning!"
Luna and Drky went into the room. Luna opened the widow and put the circlet on her head. Darky was standing beside her. She then started imagining the perfect room for both of them as she closed her eyes. As she did that, the room changed and the furniture was placed somehow. Darky was impressed by it, completely confused and surprise by that magic. Which ever kind of magic was that, it was really impressive and interesting. The room looked quite lovely, like if it was made just for a couple in love. Luna opened her eyes and noticed that it was right as she imaginative it. "This is quite impressive." She said, then closed the window and put the circlet back where it was. She went into the bed and lied down, as well as Darky. She hugged him and fall asleep into a small nap.
"I'm learning lots of stuff. Mommy likes to talk out when she's doing science stuff. Like she said that despit the fact that this world is low tech and green there are still a lot of stuff in that air that the eny wacko's think is solely man made. Mommy's little robots use the bad stuff as building blocks for the furniture." The little Pegasus beamed as she recalled one of her mommies rants about eny wacko's. "I also watch a lot of Wired Al. Mommy found a diamond where his show lasted more than one season. Wired Al is funny and smart and always showing Bobby the question boy cool home movies." (Spelling errors in this post are on purpose.)
"I see," about halfway though Usagi's monologue, he had put on his reporter's hat and started making notes on his special reporter's pad. He didn't understand most of what the filly was saying, and suspected that she didn't either. He jotted down the key words for future reference. "And did you enjoy the muffin?" he asked, earnestly. The quality of his home baking was very important to him.
"It was good, not as good as the one I got from Pinkie Pie. Mommy says I'm not allowed to see Pinkie Pie again cause she's a bad influence."
That hurt; Discord suppressed his disappointment and made a mental note to ask Pinkie about her muffin recipe the next time he was in Ponyville. "Pinkie Pie? The Element of laughter?" Discord frowned " I don't see how she could be a bad influence, personally I think Celestia could learn a thing or two from Pinkie."
Lioconvoy joined his daughter at Discords door. "A quick question and then I'll allow Usagi to go back tormenting you. Are you capable of providing your own furnishing? I'm worried the 'artifact' that creates the furniture we provide might not be compatible with your magic." "I wasn't torrenting Mr. Discord, Pinkie Pies muffins are better." "Usagi, when someone ask you how something is, you shouldn't tell them somepony else does it better. Just say if you liked it or not." If anypony could keep the Avatar of Chaos from bothering the other guest it was his daughter. While it was likely she'd say things she shouldn't, since she was just a six year old filly her words might be ignored or misunderstood. Right now the import issue was getting the canister out of Discords room.
"Artifact?" Discord appeared in his best Daring Do outfit, " I thought this was a boarding house, not an ancient tomb. Are there any giant stone boulders I should be worrying about?" he asked, glancing about nervously; he'd had enough of that sort of thing during his time with Ahuizotl.
"Duh da da da, duh da da!" "His outfit is Daring Do not, ...." Lio shook his head. While it was fine if his daughter shared information of other world, he had to try not to do it himself. How would he explain the artifact? "Daring Do? Oh! Rainbowdash said Daring Do was the only pony more awesome than she was." The filly made a copy of Daring Do's clothes and changed her coat and mane to match the most awesome pony alive. After adding the cutie mark, Usagi now looked like a mini Daring Do. "I'm better at playing her than you. You could be my assistant when we play!" The white colt found himself rubbing his forehead again. It was a good thing Usagi hadn't played with her abilities while they were in Ponyville. The two of them might be locked up somewhere. "The artifact in your room, and every room, is kind of like what my daughter uses to alter her shape. Although Usagi has to remain a six year old pony at all times, the artifact can create any object imagined. However, I'm worried what might happen if the artifact's ability was crossed with your own. As you said yourself Chaos is creation, however what you forgot to mention is that sometimes to create the new the old must be destroyed."
"Hujubwah?" Discord craned his neck down to take a closer look at the filly "It must be a powerful artifact, to grant a pony powers like those, and a Pegasus at that," he noted. Discord could change shape and colour, but generally he had to pick between the two, and was left with his trademark eyebrows or fang; he was no changeling. Deciding to further test this power, he conjured up a wall in front of Usagi.
Usagi changed back to normal and sadly walk away. Apparently Mr. Discord didn't want her bothering him anymore. "Maybe I worded my explanation wrong. Usagi is capable of changing her shape, colors and summoning clothes. The artifact in your room is capable of taking elements out of air and using them to create items. No food, mind you, but any type of furniture you can imagine. Both have their limits, but my worry is that you might accidentally remove the limits of the artifact in your room." If he was in his true body and not the limited remote his mind current resided in he could easily tear down Discord's wall. However the remote lacked the internal femtites his true body had. If Usagi had better control over her own femtites she'd be able to tear it down as well, but fortunately Usagi only used her femtites on herself. If she started using them more externally than simply creating clothes she might loose control of them. Her using them to change herself from a human to a pony was dangerous enough. Despite the fact parenthood was force on him he did care for his daughter and didn't want her to overexert her unique anatomy.
"Wait, no! Come back! It's a friendship wall!" Discord called out over the top of his wall at the departing Usagi. Hmm, perhaps he should work on his symbolism, he thought to himself. He clicked his talons once more, removing the wall, and turned his attention back to Lio, vaguely aware of what he had been saying. "Accidentally? I doubt that, but you're the boss, and I can provide my own fittings, so feel free to remove anything you don't trust me with." Slightly deflated, Discord opened the door to room 13 to let Lio in.
Unfortunately for Discord Usagi didn't seem to hear him and continued down stairs depressed. Lio frowned a little, feeling sorry for the avatar of chaos. Going into the room he quickly retrieved the femtite canister and it's control circlet. He then rejoined Discord in the hallway carrying the canister on his back. "It's not about trust, I'll admit it was at first, but seeing the way you've dealt with Usagi I'm more than willing to give you a benefit of the doubt. However the fact remains that while the Heart of Discord allows me to use magic like your, I don't understand it. I've tested the magic on the house, but not on the contents of the canisters and I truly am worried what might happen if the two crossed whether intentional or not."
"Yes, I understand" Discord sighed, "We'll have to compare notes sometime. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some decorating to do." "I wonder if Rarity's free..." he mused to himself as he entered his room and looked about. It was certainly big enough, even for a Draconequus such as himself; he could stand upright! He yawned, tired out by all the teleporting and conjuring he had done today. He decided to decorate the room properly in the morning, for now he just spawned himself a bed, a small table with a lamp on it (a Discord lamp of course,) and a rug, to tie the room together. He threw himself on the bed and fell into a deep and strange sleep.
(From floor to ceiling it's about ten feet. Is that tall enough for Discord to stand upright? Honestly how tall are the ponies, I assumed they're shorter than normal humans, but I guess they could be taller, should the ceiling be taller? The 625 square feet is based on the size of my apartment, I figure people could use the femtites to section off areas to make the room like an apartment if they wanted. Of course I don't really know much about Discord's powers so while he might not be able to alter the exterior dimensions of the room I assume he could alter the interior.) Lio headed down the steps, he wonder how the other two residents were getting along. Had Starshimmer even come inside yet? Did she or the other resident need an explanation of the canisters. He had been downstairs when explaining it to the Alicorns so maybe the cerulean filly overheard? Also what was Usagi up to now? He would have to pass on Discords apology.
