Eris climbed into the bed, and when Thunder got in with her, she pulled his hooves tight around her, snuggling between him and the pillows. She lay there for a while, feeling Thunder's heartbeat on her back, then started to drift off... (Well the portal was meant to be near the future site of Horsehead Bay, so it would make sense that if Thunder got free, he'd head to that area in search of Eris, but we also need a reason for him being freed...)
(Oh yeah... hmmm...) Thundet hold her close as she snuggled him, gently caresing her mane a bit and nuzzling her in her cheek as she drifted up. She looked so cute and peacefull as she slept.
Eris' dreams started out peaceful, but after a while, she started having nightmares about being chased by large groups of ponies down a corridor; the corridor kept branching off into two separate paths, and each time Eris ran down one it got narrower. She knew that soon it would get so narrow she would be stuck... She frowned and flailed about as she slept, fitfully.
Thunder was reading one of thr books and soon felt that something was wrong. He turned to her and tried to wake her up. As that happened, in Eris' dream, a certain blue alicorn appeared and used her magic to destroy the nightmare. If Eris remembered correctly, she would know who this pony was. (Got an idea!)
Eris woke from her sleep with a start. She looked around desperately until she saw Thunder, then she threw her arms around him and buried her face in his chest. (Luna doesn't approve of Celestia's treatment of Thunder?)
(Nope. She thinks Tia is taking it too far, but can not confront her.) Thunder looked at her and hugged her tightly as she burried her head in his chest. "You had a nightmare?" He said as he stroked her mane to calm her down.
Eris tilted her head back slightly, peeking up at Thunder with big, scared eyes, wet with tears. She'd had nightmares before, but not like this... and the blue alicorn... that couldn't have been Princess Luna, could it? She didn't know what it all meant.
Thunder smiled and leaned towards her, gently kissing her and stroking her mane. "Lets get some sleep again." He said as he laid back, her head in his chest.
"You weren't there," She whispered, "In my nightmare, you weren't there..." She'd suddenly realised that that was what had scared her so much; she was running from the ponies, and she had no Thunder by her side to support her; she was alone. Well, almost alone... "I think... I think I saw that Princess; Luna," She continued, trying to piece it together in her head.
Thunder waa still stroking her mane. "Primcess Luna?" He asked. It made sense for him how he got there, but why? "Luna can get into dreams and help getting tid ot Nightmares..." he said
"You mean... it may have actually been Luna?!" Eris asked, shocked. How could anypony enter her dreams? "But... why would Luna want to help me?" She asked, confused. "She was just trying to kill me!"
"I'm.... trying to figure why is she did that too..." Thunder sighing as he snuggled the bed a bit more, still holding Eris close.
Eris couldn't quite figure it out, but she was sure she didn't want to fall asleep again now, not if it meant having more nightmares... She sighed and sat up a little, looking at Thunder. "I don't want to sleep any more; can we go downstairs? Maybe put one of those new books in the Thunder Box? I just want something to take my mind of all of this for a while..."
Thunder sat up and nodded. "Sure honey. We can go and see one if that will help you feel better." He said with a sad smile as he lead her to where the Thunder box was.
Eris smiled a little and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you, love," She picked out one of the adventure books and put it in the box, then snuggled on the sofa with Thunder to watch it, lying against his chest again. "Sorry I'm being so downbeat..." She said, apologetically, as the show started.
"Is alright dear. All this is also hard for me." He replied to Eris as she laid down on his chest. He nuzzled her head a bit before he started watching the show.
Eris relaxed a little and tried to focus on the show; it was pretty good, as far as adventure stories went, even if the villain was an idiot... They spent a few hours watching the show, and Eris cheered up a bit, even starting to giggle at some of the jokes. She kissed Thunder's hoof and held it to her chest, happily.
Thunder smiled after she kissed his hoof like that. He loved when she kissed him, no matter where. He nuzzled her a bit more as he kept watching the show. He was happy Eris felt better.
