"We should plan more before deciding to go out on a whim." *** She watched him go, her head tilted slightly.
"Just for a minute," she urged, grabbing his arm. "Just to breathe the air. Why not?" * * * He left, disappearing from view.
He seemed wary, but relented. "Just for a moment.." *** She looked back down at Caly, petting him before heading back as well.
She looked exhilarated, pulling him in for a quick hug. “Gah, I love you! Okay! Okay, let’s go now!” *** (where to?)
He was quiet, following her nervously. *** It had been a bit since they had last seen each other. Today, Nascha decided to venture out to look for Victor.
She got to the edge of the house. The entrance in from the outside was widely used by many, a small hole in the corner of the basement. Until this moment, though, neither of them had ever left. "Okay. Ready?" * * * He wouldn't be difficult to find, seeing as she knew where he lived. As she approached his den, she would hear his voice through the grass, a flurry of mouse squeaking following his praise. "There we go, Min. Just like that."
He looked unsure. "I suppose.." *** She hesitated, Caly following behind her. She almost turned around, but decided to push forward, calling out to him. "..Victor?"
She noticed his hesitation. "We don't have to if you don't want to." * * * There was a silence before she would hear his voice. "Nascha?"
"I'm just worried.. We didn't plan." *** She brightened, picking up Caly as she hesitantly stepped in to see him. "Hey..! Sorry for coming here to unexpectedly."
She took his hand gently, squeezing it before letting go. "Let's just look at the sky. Breathe the air. We'll come back in." * * * A mouse was perched on his shoulder and one was sitting at his feet. At the sight of Caly, the mice began squeaking, approaching her. Victor looked confused but not upset, tilting his head. "That's fine. Are you alright?"
He nodded slowly, letting his shoulders relax. "Okay.." *** She set Caly down, letting him reunite. "Yeah. I just wanted to see you."
She studied him for a moment before turning and climbing out the hole in the wall. * * * This seemed to surprise him as the mice swarmed Caly, sniffing his ears affectionately. "You did? Why?"
The cool, early spring breeze hit them and Dahlia shivered, looking up at him brightly. "We're doing it!" * * * "We don't see each other often," he replied, looking down at Caly. "How's motherhood?"
He was looking around, still seeming nervous, but nodding. "We're outside." *** "It's okay. He's generally good."
She beamed at him, grabbing his hands. "Aren't you excited?" * * * He laughed, shaking his head. "You're not a fan?"
