He muttered something under his breath before slipping his arms around her waist, matter-of-factly but gently. He shifted slightly as he lied back on the pillows, holding her close to him. “Hush now,” he said, his voice a husky growl. “No need to be frightened. I’ve got you.” *** She as already asleep next to him.
She was quiet, a blush on her face as she hugged him. It worked in soothing her, and she closed her eyes again. *** (Zoop?)
He buried his head in her neck instinctively from their embrace, his lips brushing her skin unintentionally as they both relaxed. After a moment, though, he settled, going quiet. *** (Yoop!)
She remained close, falling back asleep. *** Osiris was still asleep the next morning, having shifted closer to Dahlia.
Victor was asleep next to her, his arms wrapped around her waist. * * * Dahlia mumbled, turning to face him.
Nascha was fast asleep as well, curled up and her head resting on his chest. *** He yawned, sitting up and stretching his arms as well before looning around the house.
He stirred, his eyes fluttering open. He paused, looking down in surprise before sitting up suddenly. * * * The fire had died down. Dahlia was sound asleep next to him.
Nascha woke up with a start from his sudden movement, sitting up as well. She looked over at him in surprise. She wasn't really sure what to say, remembering their proximity. "..Sorry?" *** He sighed, laying back again, not wanting to wake her.
He looked down at her, panting slightly, his brows furrowed. "What... what's happened?" * ** She came up close to him again, seeking his warmth.
She frowned as she tried to remember. "I.. think I had a nightmare. And you came up to comfort me. Are you okay?" *** He turned to her, observing silently.
"I don't... I don't..." He seemed to be struggling to breathe a little, standing up quickly and running his hands through his hair. "It's... this is fine. Everything's fine." * * * Her mouth was slightly open, and she was breathing softly, her fingers curling in his shirt. Her hair was sprawled out behind her like a small cloud.
She looked a little startled, sitting up completely. "Yeah.. Everything is okay." *** He relaxed, closing his eyes again.
He shook his head, backing away from her. "Listen, I... I gotta go." * * * After a minute, she stirred. "...Cy?"
Her gentleness seemed to make things worse and he exhaled before turning to leave. * * * She relaxed, moving closer. "You're here."
Her brows furrowed as she pulled her arms closer to herself, saying nothing. *** He nodded, closing the eye again. "I am."
