She relaxed slightly. "Really? You aren't just saying that?" *** He frowned, looking back at her. "You.. You really think I'd do that?"
"Why would I just say that? It's good." * * * "I don't know. I don't know what you'd do. We haven't had this big of a fight before."
She sighed. "I don't know. I'm glad you like it." *** His frown only deepened. "I didn't think it was that bad."
"I need to steal from the kitchen more often." * * * She looked over at him before flopping back down against her pillow, pulling the sheets over her head again.
"I could help," she offered. "I know the place well." *** He sighed, going back to look. "I don't see anything useful."
He laughed, looking surprised. "You'd steal from the tribes?" * * * "That's because there isn't anything," she said, sounding muffled.
She looked surprised as well, tilting her head slightly. "You meant from the tribes..?" *** He went back to the door. "Well.. Okay. I'll just go get some stuff then."
"Yes, Nas. I am a rogue. It's what we do." * * * "What?" She sat up in bed, her hair absolutely wild. She frowned before trying to stand up, stumbling weakly. "No."
"Why not just steal from the kitchen? That seems.. better." *** He looked back at her with a frown. "Why not?"
"Unnecessary risk. People who live in the kitchen tribes are used to avoiding humans. We are not. Besides, they kicked us out." * * * She came over to him. She had a flush on her cheeks from the fever and she looked up at him, completely covered by her blanket. "Because I don't want you to go."
"But I could help you raid the kitchen. I'm used to avoiding humans." *** "But I'll be back," he said easily. "It's just to help your cold."
He raised an eyebrow amusedly. "Once a tribe, always a tribe," he teased. * * * She frowned, looking worried again. "I'm okay."
She sighed, tilting her head at him. She didn't say anything but he could sense the irritation. *** He raised an eyebrow at her. "You're sick."
He squinted before his shoulders slumped. "I'm not allowed in," he said, tilting his head. "If they catch me in the kitchen, I'll be attacked." * * * She frowned before wrapping her arms around his waist and hugging him. Her body was very warm. "Please don't go."
She eased up, leaning against the counter. "You'll be attacked if they catch you either way.. Now personally, I don't really want that to happen, so maybe I can go with you in case anything goes wrong?" *** He reached down, feeling her forehead. "You have a fever."
She grinned. "I won't let that happen. When are you free to go? We should do it at night." *** He shook his head. "About you."
