He nodded thoughtfully, following her. "We can do that." *** She looked at the cheese as well. "I like mice. They're cute." A pause fell over her and she looked up at him suddenly, pointing at him accusingly. "Mouse boy!"
She got to the bottom of the window and looked up, craning her head back. "Okay. This will be good. Ready?" * * * He squinted, tilting his head curiously. "What?"
He nodded, standing beside her. "Yeah. Let's go." *** She grinned. "You came through a hole in the wall looking for your mouse. I thought it was a dream, except I gave you my red ribbon."
She began to climb the paneling against the wall, her feet finding natural footholds. *** He tilted his head, eyeing her in thought. “A red ribbon. You came with me to find him...”
He followed her, keeping his eyes up as they made their way to the window. *** She nodded brightly. "Right!"
She paused about halfway up, squinting. “Have you ever gone outside?” *** He frowned, although she wouldn’t be able to see under the mask. He turned back to Munsheiner, adjusting the saddle on the mouse’s back.
He squinted, looking down. "No, not yet. It's a bit of a journey, starting from up here." *** She hesitated, tilting her head. "Are you leaving?"
"I haven't been either," she commented, continuing up. "We should go!" * * * He tightened the reins and looked back at her. "Why wouldn't I?"
"We do everything together, you know?" she said, pulling herself up to the top ledge. "Why wouldn't we go outside for the first time together?" * * * He tilted his head at her curiously. "It healed," he told her, opening his hand and showing her, revealing a large scar. "Just in case you were wondering."
He nodded, clambering over. "Sounds like a plan then. We'd have to either sneak away or get permission." *** She nodded slowly. "That's good. I'm glad."
"You would," she replied playfully. "Your parents know about me." * * * He seemed slightly awkward, but his face hardened and he got up on the mouse.
"Hm.. We will have to plan it. We would probably need a few days, right?" *** She hesitated. "..See you."
"Probably," she agreed, hauling herself up on the ledge with a small grunt. * * * He looked down at her, his green eyes catlike and dangerous. "Is that so?"
He huffed as they got up. "It'll be fun." *** "Hopefully," she began, her tone teasing. "Seeing ghosts is cool."
"It would be," she agreed, surveying the area. "This looks cool, right?" * * * He looked confused, pulling on the reins. "Ghosts?"
He looked around, approaching the window. "Yeah. It would make a good fort." *** She crossed her arms. "Yeah. You."
She had her hands on her hips, looking excited. "We could make this so cool!" she exclaimed, coming over to him and throwing an arm over his shoulder. "Right?" * * * His frown deepened and he tilted his head. "I don't understand."
He nodded, grinning. "We're gonna make it look amazing." *** She laughed slightly. "You're like a ghost. You're hardly seen, and when you are its brief."
"Just picture it," she said excitedly. "We can get different colors of plastic and put it up against the window to make different colors in the room!" * * * He shook his head slowly. He may have been smirking under his mask. "You don't know any ghosts."
