Hours passed, but there had been no contact between the two of them. * * * He flushed, looking embarrassed. "Still. I'm sorry."
He had gone to look for her, a small frown on his face. *** She sighed, offering his shirt. "You don't have to apologize."
She ran into him in the midst of the crowd, looking up at him in surprise. “Oh. Hi!” *** He worked to slip it on, groaning. “I didn’t want you to see me like this.”
“Yes, I’m here. Are you doing okay?” *** “Yes, but in case you haven’t noticed, you’re much prettier than I am.”
He nodded, seeming a bit tired. "Yeah, you?" *** She flushed, squinting at him. "Stop that. It's not true."
She hesitated before nodding. “Yeah. I’m alright. I wasn’t working all day yesterday, so I’m still fresh.” *** “Oh, isn’t it?” he teased dryly, slipping the shirt on completely.
"Good," he said. "I should get back now.' *** "It is to me," she said, giving him the washcloth for his hands. "You're lovely."
She hesitated, reaching over to brush his hair back. “Okay. Be safe?” *** He flushed, washing off his hands. “Hm.”
She nodded, leaning in and giving him a quick peck on the cheek. “Me? Always.” *** He laughed sheepishly. “I feel like a real loser.”
He laughed lowly, starting back to his place. *** "Don't worry," she teased. "I'll be the winner of this relationship."
(Yoop!) *** She chuckled, lying back and looking it him. "Totally. I mean, I'm no attractive, mysterious rogue, but I'll do."
They approached their house late that night. Dahlia had her arm hooked with his and she yawned sleepily. "Oof." * * * He laughed, looking over at her. "Is that how you see me?"
"Yeah," she agreed tiredly. "I don't like living in the house." * * * * He scoffed. "Oh. So now I'm not attractive or mysterious?"
He nodded. "It'll be sorted." *** She grinned, offering her hand. "No, you've only lost the mysterious aspect. You're attractive and sweet and cool.."
They entered the house and she stretched, yawning sleepily. "Are you hungry?" * * * He flushed, taking her hand and gently pulling her over to him. "What am I if I'm not cool?"
