He knew she was still worried, and sighed, eating his food. *** She frowned, putting the food on a plate and coming over to him. "Take it easy.."
She leaned back against the pillows, watching him before leaning forward and kissing his temple. "I love you," she told him quietly. "I really love you." * * * "Nah, I'm good," he said, slightly out of breath. "Don't worry." After a second, he pushed himself up on his arms, swearing under his breath. "What did you make?"
He looked over at her gently. "I love you too." *** She set the plate on the side and offered her hands to helo him sit up completely. "It's called French Toast. I learned how to make it in the house."
She watched him, raising one eyebrow skeptically. “And if you hurt yourself because of all this,” she continued, “I will hate you for all eternity.” *** He took her arms gratefully, sitting up. “That’s right. You still have to teach me to read.”
He laughed aloud. "Alright. I believe you." *** She nodded, sighing. "Yeah. Maybe once this mess is over."
“I’m not even joking,” she replied seriously, taking the bowl from him. “I will kill you.” *** “Right... well, it smells really good!”
He frowned at her. "I know." *** She gave him as small smile before kissing his cheek. "Thanks. I'm gonna go clean up."
She nodded, satisfied, before standing up and going to clean up his dishes. *** “Won’t you eat too?” he protested, raising one eyebrow. “Here, share this with me.”
He watched her go, his brows furrowed. *** "I can make something later," she said. "If you're really going to go back out there despite what happened, I figured you should eat before you go."
Her back was to him, but she finished cleaning quickly, drying her hands on her clothes before returning to his side. *** He squinted, taking her hand. “Come on, babe. Eat a little.”
He wrapped his arms around her gently. *** She gave him a small smile, sitting next to him and kissing his cheek. "Fine."
She looked a little surprised, but scooted over to him, resting her head on his chest. "I still gotta turn out the light..." * * * He laughed, raising one eyebrow . "The pet names work every time."
"I know," he said quietly. "I don't want you to worry." *** She rolled her eyes. "You know my weaknesses."
She laughed slightly. "Now you know how I've felt this entire time." * * * He offered her a bite of the French Toast.
She looked over at him before scooting over to him, resting her hand on his jaw and kissing him gently. * * * "I'm sure you are."
