She squinted at him before scooting over to him shyly again, looking down at him. * * * "Mm...hm?" he replied, clearly trying to focus.
A may have looked a little uncertain of himself, but said nothing as he looked up at her. *** She was frowning slightly. "I don't like this."
She paused before running her fingers through his hair gently, her hands soft. *** “Don’t like... what?” he asked, not without effort. “How well I’m handling this?”
He sighed, closing his eyes. *** "You shouldn't go out," she said gently. "Going out is going to be hard, and I'm worried about you."
She shifted, lying down next to him and kissing his cheek, looking up at him. "I love you," she murmured quietly in his ear. "Awkwardness and all." * * * "Look at me," he said, frowning. "I'm standing."
He sighed, looking over at her with a small smile. "I love you too." *** "Going out there is more than just standing."
She rested her forehead against his chest, slipping her arms around his waist. * * * "I'm okay. Do you think I can't do it?"
She didn't fall asleep but listened to his heart beating and his breathing, soothed by his presence. * * * He frowned, looking over at her before sitting down again, exhaling slightly. "I don't need to sit down," he told her. "I'm just doing it for fun."
He kept her close, but did fall asleep rather quickly, evidently tired from the long day. *** She was frowning slightly, looking worried and concerned.
She looked up at him after a while, watching him gently. * * * "Don't look at me like that," he pleaded quietly. "It's not that bad."
He was asleep, his expression relaxed and peaceful. His arms were around her, though they were now loose as he dozed. *** She sat next to him. "I can't help but be worried." She shook her head slowly. "Just.. I should stop you from going out there, but I'm not going to. I don't like it, though."
She sighed affectionately, brushing his hair out of his face before returning to her position on his chest, drifting off shortly afterwards. * * * He frowned, looking down at himself. "I don't want to think of myself as a liability."
(Yoop!) * * * He didn't look at her, frowning. "I don't want to be a problem for them, but I don't want to leave them alone."
Osiris was asleep the next morning, holding her close. *** She looked unsure. "I don't know.. Maybe we could go together?"
Her back was pressed against his chest, but she shifted sleepily, opening her eyes. * * * His expression sharpened. "What? No."
He was still asleep, his chin over her head. *** She tilted her head at him, her hand resting on his back gently. "I just want you to be okay."
She muttered to herself something, sitting up sleepily and getting out of bed, stretching in the early morning light. *** He seemed tense and nervous, but also like he was trying to calm himself down, taking deep breaths. “...I know. I know that.”
