He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her near. *** Her gaze softened, and she reached up to kiss him.
She laughed sleepily, craning her head back to look at him. "Hi." * * * He caught her hand and kissed her back, his fingers intertwining with hers as he squeezed her hand gently.
She turned in his arms to face him, placing soft kisses on his neck as she scooted in close to him. * * * He pulled her closer to him with his free hand as he settled back in the pillows, bringing her closer.
She buried her face in his chest, closing her eyes as well. * ** He studied her, a slow smile crossing his mouth. "...hi."
He kept her close, and eventually fell asleep. *** She grinned, brightening as her gaze met his. "Hey."
She followed him soon after. *** He smirked slightly, his hand resting on her waist. “I love you,” he told her quietly.
Her head was against his chest as she awoke, her fingers curled in his shirt. She blinked blearily, looking up at him. * * * "Just... that you love me. No big deal. You're in love with me."
She laughed sleepily, kissing his forehead and brushing his hair back gently before getting out of bed. * * * His mouth curved upwards in a genuinely delighted grin. "You're in love with me," he repeated, softer this time.
She didn't notice him stirring, instead getting out of bed and heading over to the fireplace, kneeling down to light it. * * * His hand came up to rest on her jaw as he watched her, his eyes soft. "You're insane."
She looked over at him in surprise, some soot on her nose. She visibly brightened before returning to her task. "Hello, Cy! How'd you sleep?" * * * "Maybe a little?" he pushed. "Maybe a bit crazy?"
She seemed a little confused. "Good morning," she said before trying again. "How'd you sleep?" * * * He nodded, acknowledging this. "Good... I guess I'm glad we agree."
