Does anyone here read Douglas Adams? His works are both funny and creative, if a bit random, but that's part of the fun. So are there any fans out there who want to discuss the books he wrote?
you read the dirk ---- name missing.........second one is 'the long dark tea break of the soul'.............by him? worth a read, gentely? i think =/
Yeah but the thing I liked about the books is that you could have dropped the series at any time just because the endings were vague enough for another book, but solid enough to say that it's over.
I love how everything seemed so coincidently on purpose. Like Agrajag, who got killed somewhere around a million times. That whole part with that dude was golden! Also those random digressions that are thrown in the mix ever now and then (I can't quote one, I lent my copy of the series to my sister).
wow...lots of refs going oh here, and i can only remember dips and daps of all 5 books, like Arther learning to fly and that girl thinking she was a hegdehog who thought of the question
"This is obviously some strange usage of the word safe that I wasn't previously aware of. " (Are we just going through our favorite quotes?)
With what all references were snuck into the rest of the season... probably! XD I loved the books! I have them all in one big hardcover somewhere... I really need to dig it out and go through it all over again.
If so, then 'Ford, you're turning into a penguin. Stop it.' has got to be mine. Never laughed out loud at a book before.
I love the 5-part trilogy and have read it multiple times. And one of my favorite parts is the one Ripp_ quoted above! The BBC broadcast and the new movie are also quite good. (When the latter came out in theaters my friend and I attended in bathrobes with our towels. It was awesome.)
