The weapons were lowered but using special cyper shield communication techniques he told the weapon controllors (2 ponies and 3 griffons) to keep a eagle eye and a steady hand. "As for our plans to settle we were planning on settling on not the planet you lot were heading to, you know the one with the forests and mountains we were thinking on heading to the mineral rich plains/hilly planet in sector 21 seems as if it was once populated. At least thats what the planetry scanner shows us".
Midnight decided to make his base the fifth planet. It was a rest green, mountainous place with water the cut its way through it, in other words, perfect for the main Brotherhood base. There was even one continent that was detected as only accessible from the sky due to extreme water currents detected around it. The Man O' War landed her, along with several other ships, and Midnight Sun was the first to disembark into this new world.
"now if you excuse me I must head off, that planet has alot for us to discover" Steel and the rest of the fleet hyperdrived off to the plain/hilly planet then landed next to what seemed to be a mine. Steel then disimbarked the vangaurd and met up with the captain of the 2nd ship. "whoever was here before us must of been smart I mean look at this machinery. Seems weve got alot of things to reverse engineer plus a premade mine". He then turned towards to soldiers. "remove mobile town 1 and activate it about a klik from this mine"
"We'll start the base here." Midnight said, planting his hoof in the ground on the spot. "Yes sir!" said his second in command and went to start the unloading process. Midnight looked up and thought about how this was happening all over the system, the only difference in the bases was their size, and all had a prominent feature, a massive anti-space-ship gun in the middle of each base as a extra weight for their overlapping protection.
Dark Shine was keeping an eye on all moniters. Around him various Ponies, Griffons, deer and others were manning equipment. The ship had nearly no guns. Instead, it had shields. Lots and lots of shield generators. "Dark Shine, several fleets near by. All have weapons. Orders?" Asked a Grey Griffon. "Send a message." Replied Dark Shine, his eyes darting around several screens. "Anything else sir?" Quetioned a small deer. "Negative. Just send the protocal message. We mean no harm. If you do not believe this, feel free to meet on negotiable terms. We seek only to find a few supplies, then we will be out of your mane." Dark Shine coughed a bit. "Are you gonna send it now?" He rhetorically asked, tapping away at keys and other devices. ...................... "Message sent sir."
Rashall's fleet made it to high orbit around the desert world, the mechanicus, bone singers, and earth caste all started down to the planet with armed escorts and building supplies. Rashall himself was in the first wave and was the first to taste the worlds air, dry and brittle but free non the less. They had decided to settle a small bowl shaped valley first with the star port being built on a close by plateau. Work began immediately and Rashall was please with their progress on the star port, meanwhile the earth cast set to building the settlement area which was dug into the surrounding mountains. This would ensure that the inhabitants would be cool throughout the hot aired days. The bone singers on the other hand had started building the first webway portals that would connect the settlements to the space port. This would all take time though, but Rashall could wait.
"York, let the passengers know we're landing and building on the forest world," Fire said to a soldier, who nodded and ran to a mic to inform the passengers, "We'll have a new home soon..." Soon, ships were landing in a plains area, carrying civilians and supplies.
Midnight wondered through the base, it was already almost done thanks to the beauty of prefabricated buildings. A large wall surrounded the base while others split it into many districts, each assigned for a different purpose, from residential to military to agriculture. Outside the walls, a wide, fast river ran by the base, protecting two of its sides while the ocean protected its third. On the only side that lead to land, a small isthmus was the only tether to the shore, in short, the perfect place. In the distance, high mountains could be seen across the plains that they had settled near. This continent that they landed on would soon be the main source of Brotherhood power in the Hope system as more and more bases were built upon it. Midnight smiled at the thought of a uninvadable land that could serve as the base of stability for the whole system, a sanctuary, "This planet shall be named Sanctuary." He muttered. He smiled at the name, and went off to tell those below him. He looked up to the center of the base to see a huge Brotherhood flag fluttering, it was a symbol similar to that of a red hourglass tipped at a 45 degree angle on a black field.
Firebreeze walked through the new Flames of Trial city. It was nothing fancy, just houses, apartments, and a few store lots for future store owners. He wanted to give his civilian passengers a simple life, not a military life. "This city should hold around a thousand citizens." A builder-drone said to Breeze. "Is that it?" The captain replied, "Oh well... We'll have to build even more cities then." He went to his communicator, "To all drones: building supplies will be dropped in desired building zones. Prepare to track said supplies."
The colonists in Rahsall's fleet found themselves in cave dwellings, but none of them complained with the heat on the planet even though it was coming to pass as night on the planets surface. Rashall was happy with the progress of building a great complex of caves had been built into the mountains that would in time be hollowed out to make a small bastion city with gates leading inwards. Against the largest mountain would be built the Tower of Angels, as the original tower had been disassembled piece by piece in order to move it. Inside of the second largest mountain would go the Titan Works, this would also be the place where the defender titan legion, Legios Defensoris, would be stationed in case of enemy invasion. The defense platforms were also being built in orbit around the planet to ensure the enemy never got to go to ground.
"Keep it together! Don't let that Beam wander off! That's it, let it down slowly. And... Break!" The different ponies ran off as the final support beam came rushing down with a thunderous Clunk! and dug itself into the ground, securing itself to the ground below. "Perfect! Let's get the Solar sails up and running!" Sojourner said, smiling as he looked over the other's as they began the starting procedures. They had been on this planet, thus named Sanctuary by their leader Midnight, for only a few days, and everything was falling into place perfectly. Exactly as he had hoped. When Equestria had fallen some time ago, his ideas for finally revolutionizing industry had fallen flat. He was broken, and with no where left to turn, had offered his services to Midnight in exchange for passage aboard the Light-Bringer. It was the best choice he had made in life so far, he decided. "Stage one complete! Solar mast's extended, and stabilizer's engaged. engaging rotor arms, pulling out the material..." massive golden sheets of glowing cells stretched between the different poles surrounding the building, creating what seemed to be ship sails that billowed slightly in the breeze. As the sunlight caught each in turn, they grew bright with power, and began pulsing in smooth, steady rhythms. the occasional electrical crack could be heard as lightning arced across different cells on it's way down to the power lines, already interconnected to the rest of the city. The Impish Grin across Sojourner's face couldn't hope to conceal his glee that his machine was working. he slid his Goggles down over his eyes and quickly turned to the others. "That's one down. We have seven more to have up by weeks end. Let's get working, everypony!"
(TIME WARP!) It was a week after the initial landing and the Flames of Trial had established ten cities for their citizens. Firebreeze had decided to name the planet Beta for whatever reason. They had one military base established on the planet, and more where to come if needed. He walked through the capitol city, observing the current lives of his citizens. It was a good day to be alive.
Midnight Sun looked over the surrounding land from the finished Tower of Brotherhood. Back in Equestria, it was the home of the Brotherhood, in all forms including political, military, and economic. The mile tall structure stretched into the sky, granting the top floor a spectacular 360 degree view as the tower was shaped like a cone. The Tower, though it look smooth and defenseless, was the strongest, most well defended building that the Brotherhood had. It was entirely self sufficient so that even if it came under siege, every one of its 300,000 inhabitants would live their normal lives. It was a good day, no a great day for the Brotherhood. They watched over the whole solar system, to be the first to fight if there was an invasion from outside the system and the first to help in any factions inside the system. Sanctuary was covered in large Citadel-Bases, hearts of Brotherhood power. On this one continent alone, there were over 15 of them, the reason why the Brotherhood was just so dang big was because was Equestria collapsed, the Brotherhood offered free passage to all who came aboard, as long as they swore loyalty to the Brotherhood, so a pretty good majority of Equestria's old citizens found their way to Brotherhood launch sites to get away.
After a week of roaming in space and managing to settle down on an ice planet, Dark Shine and the rest of the Night Eternal set up several mining stations as well as farming bio-crops, Shield training facility and finally houses. Dark Shine stood on the balcony of the Night Eternal. He put his computers and other gear aside and took a moment to view what they had found. Gravaton lifts were carrying Iron, copper, some form of green metal and various other ores, into a smelting facility. Those metals were used for more ships, more shield strength and above all, back up supplies. He looked at this and smiled.
Steel was surveying the now running again mine. "seems like everything's going smoothly. we've managed to find iron, gold, vyranic power gems (what they use to power their machines, buildings and weapons) and about 3 different types of minerals we've never seen before. This planet is great" He then walked on through the gates of mobile town 1 and he was greeted and brohoofed by everyone he passed. random mare in the street: "thanks for doing this, you are awesome for going through all this to give us a better life" "thanks, no problem, anything to make the cyber shields happy and at peace again" The mare overwhelmed with emotion started to hug steel heart tears running down her eyes. "the names Sweetiecake, call me maybe?". the mare then composed herself, smiled and walked off. "I really feel like pinkie pie at the moment and I don't know if that's a good thing or bad. Speaking of pinkie, I know that the mane 6 were split between factions and I know twi's with us but I dont know what happened to the others".
"Ah must really thank y'all for all y'all've done." Applejack told Midnight. "Ah only wish the rest coulda come." Midnight smiled, "Well, you are always free to go to the other factions to see the others." (I say we each get one) Applejack smiled at that, "Thank ya kindly." she said tipping her hat to him. As Applejack left his office, he turned to the window to watch the sun set.
Once steel got into his office he actives his holo-computer and started to do some important business regarding the old equestria. When they left one part of the fleet decided to stay back in equestria and rebuild everything from the ground up not that they'll have any success. "let me see, got an email from the staying fleet." (It says: No luck, heading to you, designate sectors please). Steel got his hoofs warmed up and typed back designating 21f through 21j to the incoming fleet. Once done twilight came into the room. Twilight: "sir I've really enjoyed the scientific advancements the cyber-shields have done and I would never leave it for another faction. It's just that I miss my friends". "twilight, don't worry I've already got a plan and I've prepared a email Saying that we should set up shuttles between planets, so split family's and friends can reunite with each other I've also mention you and the elements of harmony as it makes it easier for you six to unite if things go downhill. Let me just send it now.... and done all I need is a reply and then you can meet up with the others after I believe 4-5 years".
Rashall's planet, thus named Turith after a great Eldar Warlock, finally had several more settlements scattered across it's surface each was located in either a shallow valley or in one of the small mountain ranges. The capital, Dusk, was centered near the Tower of Angels while the other towns, though scattered, where with in easy distance is they needed anything. In orbit the defense and ship facilities had been finally competed and were servicing the fleet. A rich deposit of minerals had been discovered on the planet below that recharged themselves every three years, or so the mechanicus agents said, this meant mining could commence in one area but my leave enough minerals so that they would hopefully recharge faster. Some of the minerals happened to be jems that Rashall's people could find no use for and thus several, some red, blue and bronze colored ones were loaded on board the Ragnarok and along with a two cruiser escort set off for the forest world. Rashall himself was present and wondered if trading could begin thus early.
