Rashall sat in the catherdral at the alter praying, as he had been for the past hour and a half. There were others in the cathedral as well, warriors and civilians all and from all branches as well. There were at least 50 of them Rashall included that where here to simply pray, nothing was happening that needed prayer just that for some reason they felt the need to and thus they were here.
As Firebreeze was finishing up his work for the day, a soldier approached him, "Sir!" The soldier called, "We've been getting odd transmissions in the past hour from an unknown source!" Fire stood up, "Odd... Did you record them?" "Of course." "Alright, send me the recordings so I can listen to them." "Yes sir!" The soldier then ran off to do as he was told.
"What is it OPIAT?" Midnight asked the computer in front of him, obviously irratated at having his day off cut short. "Sorry Mr. Sun, it's just that I have detected some strange, yet familar signals coming from a very familiar sector of space." MIdnight frowned, "How familiar, and what sector?" he asked. "Very, and coming from the Home/H-2 sector."
Firebreez listened to the recording. It was difficult to hear much of what was said, but he was able to make out some coordinates. "A.I.A, enter the coordinates into the System Map." "Right away." The AI replied. In moments, Firebreeze was shown the image of Sanctuary, "A.I.A..." He began, "See if you can get me a link to Midnight Sun. I need to give him this info."
"Midnight Sun, I am receiving a transmission from Beta marked V.I.I. should I let it through?" OPIAT asked. "Go ahead OPIAT." Midnight said. The hologram unit activated and Midnight could see Firebreeze, "Ah, what is this Very Important Information you wished to share?" Midnight asked.
"Good evening, or whatever time it is where you are, Midnight," Fire began, "My men have been monitoring some transmissions from something unknown. I was able to make out some coordinates that led to your planet."
"Ah yes, OPIAT was just going through those same transmissions, he has dedected that they are from either the Home or H-2 sector of space. He is currently working on decoding those messages. And thank you for the heads-up, I'll put the fleet on high alert, if they want to get inside this system, they will have to go through us first." Midnight said.
"Last time I checked, Humans took Home from us in the nastiest war in Equestrian history" Fire began, "If it is humans, it's gonna take more than your fleet, I guarantee it."
Midnight chuckled, "Our technology is their's, if not better. Unless they move the whole dang fleet over here, I can for quite some time, especially with the bases I have everywhere."
"It's been awhile, friend," Fire said, "You never know what can change. They could have damn well have gotten stronger and larger."
"Yes, I know, but we will slow them as much as possible and do as much damage as we can before we withdraw to Sanctuary." Midnight said.
"Alright, lad," Fire said, "I'll prepare my men. Breeze out." And with that, Fire cut off the connection. He walked over to a mirror, looked at himself, and chuckled, "I'm getting too old for this."
Within hours, Brotherhood bases across the system where blaring with sirens and Brotherhood troops where preparing themselves for the coming onslaught. The Surface to Orbital Defense ENergy guns where activated and were scanning the skies for any sign of trouble. Brotherhood ships where loaded to the brim with weapons and ammo and troops. When the enemy arrived, they would not be caught unawares this time.
Fire walked into Fort Ember as soldiers ran about. "Have you heard anything else?" Fire asked a soldier. "Uh, we could make one last thing out before the transmission cut off, sir," The soldier said, "All we could hear was 'prepare' and 'attack'." "Odd..." Fire said, "Soldier, I want you to keep a constant connection to the Brotherhood. If something happens, I wanna know about it."
"Are you sure that's what the communications said OPIAT?" Midnight asked the computer. "Positive." it responded. "I want you to relay it to every faction ASAP. It's better for them to know the numbers and their ETA than to be in a blissful arrogance. Let them know that we might be forced to retreat to Sanctuary, where we can hold indefinately, and if they're citizens have any doubts about the safety of their own planets, let them know that Sanctuary wil provide free accomadations until the crisis passes." he told the computer. "Yes sir, sending the information under special emergancy override code 30145A, everypony in the system shall recieve the information by the end of this Sanctuary day." OPIAT confirmed. "Good, good." Midnight turned his attention outside of the Brotherhood Tower, One week, one Equestria invasion sized fleet, I pray to Celestia we can hold. He turned to OPIAT once more, "And let the population know that the Safe Areas might be used if Sanctuary were to come under direct attack." "Of course sir."
"We've got a connection, sir." A soldier called to Firebreeze. "Good," He replied, "Should make things a bit easier. Have we heard anymore transmissions?" "No, sir, just static." Another soldier replied, "Alright, keep an ear out for any."
"Sir!" OPIAT yelled, snapping Midnight out of his daydreaming and planning, "Yes?" he asked frantically. "Sir we are getting confirmed reports of the Outer Patrols saying that Human Space Fighters are near the system, there's already been multiple scrimishes, most in our favor but, it gets worse..." This had Midnight worried, "The scanners show the beginnings of the same kind of wormhole tht opened up off of Equestria. It might be possible that we are about to be hit hard and soon." OPIAT said lowly. "Tell three quarters of the space units to converge on the anomily, but have the rest to be ready for a second opening! Send this information out immediately! We need all the help we can get! But if this is true, there is a ship that might level the playing field quite substantially, Brotherhood Prime. OPIAT, do what I have said, I will prepare Prime's launch." If Opiat had a head, it would have nodded. Midnight doned his signature Black Night armor that covered him head to hoof in power armor, and ran towards Brotherhood Prime's base.
"Sir!" A soldier called, "We have just received word of hostile contact with humans by the brotherhood!" "Then, prepare the Little Brother fighters, raise the Melta-Cannons, and get your weapons loaded! I want all bases prepared 30/7!" Fire yelled out, "I also want the Victor back up in the void of space!" Firebreeze ran to the armory to find his signature FoT heavy armor and helmet. "This is gonna be hell, I can already tell..." Fire said as he put on his armor. ______________________________ *MEANWHILE NEAR THE OUTER RIM* A armored man sits in a captains chair, his face disguised by a helmet with glowing red eyes. "Sir," A human soldier said, approaching the man, "We've sent multiple fighters out, most have ended up in a dogfight. They haven't faired too well." "Then overpower them with our numbers." The man said with a chuckle, "The main attack is being prepared as we speak."
The massive Brotherhood Prime flew towards the outer edge (Imagine Vader's ship. The star destroyers are similar in size to MAn O' Wars.) Midnight sat at the captain's chair, looking like he was made of blackness other than the two red dots where his eyes where, "All guns on alert, kill anything human. You see a human spaceship, send a MA round or two into it. No mercy." He ordered those around him. The Brotherhood Prime was the ultimate in spacecraft technology, entirely black, its sheilds the strongest known, and bristled with weapons from the smallest Anti Space Fighter guns to four massive MA cannons that could fire a 100 ton projectile over 100x the speed of sound into its target. "This time humans, we aren't just going to lay down and hid in the ground." (Did the math, the amount of force behind each MA round of the Brotherhood Prime is 7,612,070 tons. Or 15,224,140,000 pounds, would not want that thing tearing thorugh my shipship. Or in the average MA round that's about 50 tons, there is 3,806,035 tons, or 7,612,070,000 pounds of force, in essence, that thing is going to be cutting through your spaceship like a hot knife through butter.)
Night had come to Turith finally, but with it had come bad news. Sanctuary seemed to be engaged with a human force coming out of a newly forming wormhole. Rashall had scrambled first fleet and all first company units along with Legio Apocolyptica the titan legion had always served alongside first fleet and it would once more. The problem wasn't so much getting ready, that was done under an hour, as much as it was simply getting to sanctuary as it lay on the other side of the systems star. This meant that it would take the fleet hours to reach their destination, but it also gave them the element of surprise.
