"Let's try in town. There are plenty of ponies in town..." Narrowleaf responded. "Oh. And if anyone asks, we'll say your my daughter, if that's okay with you."
"Good idea. I was actually going to suggest that, myself." Rosy began walking towards town. "Is this your first time in Ponyville? It is a nice enough little town. I rather like it here."
"No, actually. I used to live here. Before that jerk dragged me to the House." Narrowleaf replied. "C-C'mon... I'm thirsty. I need to feed."
Rosy laughed. "My dear boy, you do not NEED to feed. You have already fed twice tonight. However, if you still WANT to feed, I know of a group of ponies that will not be missed." She led Narrowleaf to an alley where a large crowd was forming around a pair of snarling dogs. "This is Ponyville's dogfighting club. Two dozen of the most despicable ponies in Equestria." A wicked grin appeared on Rosy's face. "I have been wanting to eliminate these beasts for the last five years. I will enjoy hearing them scream."
Narrowleaf nodded and gave a low chuckle. "What's the plan? Bite everything that moves?" He asked. "Those dogs are pretty much feral at this point... I doubt they'd ever have a happy ending..."
"I can handle the dogs. Predatory animals tend to like me. As far as the crowd goes..." Rosy held out the Hunter amulet for Narrowleaf to see. "...They will not be a problem for one such as you. Even Elder Bloodwing fears the Hunters, and you took one down with ease." She began walking towards the crowd. "Whenever you are ready, attack. I will do what I can to help."
Without hesitating, Narrowleaf lept onto a mare's back and bit down into her neck. He comforted her as the life faded away from her body, despite the multiple stallions attempting to bludgeon him. He turned and began to chase after several terrified ponies, attempting to run away.
Rosy leapt onto the back of one larger stallions, laughing happily. With precision that came from years of practice, she severed his spinal cord with a single bite. Still laughing, she leapt from his back and onto the head of another. The new stallion looked up at her, terrified. "By Celestia... what are you?!" Rosy answered with a skull crushing kick. "That is two for me, Narrowleaf! How are you doing so far?"
"Just two!" Narrowleaf cried, repeatitivly slamming a stallion's head against the ground. "These guys are harder to catch than the hunter was!"
"We cannot allow any witnesses to escape! Show no mercy!" Rosy whistled sharply and gave a command in a strange language. Instantly, the two dogs ran to either end of the alley to block any escape attempts. The only Pegasus in the group flew upwards, trying to escape into the sky. Rosy flew after him and broke his wings with two well placed kicks. The snapping sound that his neck made as he hit the ground told Rosy that he would not be getting back up.
Narrowleaf was sent flying backwards after being bucked in the face. He landed at the end of the dark alleyway, crashing into a pile of garbage. "O-Ouch! That really h-hurt..." He whimpered, snapping out of his bloodlust.
Rosy realized with horror that she had been far too overconfident. Taking down the Hunter had shown Narrowleaf's potential, but he was still only an untrained fledgeling. She should never have attempted to set him against so large a group. "Run! There are too many of them!"
He began to limp behind her, a hoof on his stomach. "I-I think I'm bleeding... B-Badly..." He murmured. A black liquid covered his hoof and stomach. "W-Wait for me... I'm going as f-f-fast as I can..."
Rosy looked worridly at the blood. Narrowleaf was badly injured. "I am sorry that I put you into that situation. You were not ready, and I should have realized that. Let me tend to your wounds, and then we can head home. This hunt is over."
"It's... Not your f-fault, Rosy... I wanted m-more and more..." Narrowleaf wheezed out. "I didn't... n-need more blood... It's my fault."
"No, the fault is mine. You were not ready for such a challenge." Rosy reached into her pack and pulled out some bandages. She was concerned by the unusual color of the blood, but decided to worry about it later. After tending to Narrowleaf's injuries, she whistled, and the dogs from the alley came running. "Let us return home."
"Hey, Rosy... What does Vampire blood t-taste like? Is it deadly?" Narrowleaf asked, changing the subject. "That is, if you know..."
Rosy stopped walking, and looked at Narrowleaf with a stern expression. "It is fortunate that the Elder is not here. Such a question could get you killed." Her expression softened, and she explained. "Blood is everything to us. It is where our power dwells. To feed on a fellow vampire is to steal their power for yourself. Among our kind, it is the ultimate taboo."
"I-I'm sorry! I don't want to die... But I also don't want to be a freak..." Narrowleaf said. "...Th-There's gotta be a cure somewhere..."
Rosy sighed sadly. "If there is, I have not found it. I have been searching for more than a century. Eternal fillyhood grows tiresome after about twenty years." She began walking again, the dogs following close behind her. "I came close, once, with an extract of Heart's Desire, but the effects were only temporary."
