The Gentleman frowned as the pony before him looked nervously around the room. He was the bearer of bad news, and even though his boss didn't have a reputation for killing the messenger, it was still never fun to be in his position. "Four of my men were killed? In Fillydelphia? What was the cause of death?" asked the Boss. His crony gulped. "Um...we can't really tell. The only thing we can say for sure is that there wasn't anything unusual about the cause of their death. What was unusual was the number of deaths, and even stranger still were the allegiances of the casualties." The Gentleman arched an eyebrow. "Uh, well, Civilians and Cops were killed too." Marcone took a seat. "Hmmmm. That is unusual. And you're positive that this was not some sort of accident?" "Absolutely. All of them had been murdered. And it wasn't just common criminals, because aside from the fact that common criminals don't commit mass ponyicide, nothing was taken off their person, as far as we can tell. There was also an unusual bit of graffiti that said 'Plague Walks' at the scene." The Boss considered this for a moment. "Well. You know what to do. Keep watching, and if you find out anything more about this graffiti, contact me immediatly. I have a feeling it may be important. I want this to take top priority on all of my agents' to do lists. I may be a crime lord, but if someone's messing with the people who live in my territory, it's going to be ME."
Pain ran beside Sprite as they ran to the headquarters, keeping quiet as they bounded their way across the rooftops towards Headquarters. ""I hope the it isn't one of my old comrades again." he muttered. Pain's past was never much of a secret among the Justice Society, but nopony brought up near him as who in their right mind would want to invoke the wrath of a pony that once fought the entire royal family, and came out unscathed (Bringing a bit of my own rp where I developed Pain if you don't mind).
Sprite inclined her head slightly, but said nothing. She leapt beside Pain to the next building, and thought of one pony that always knew exactly what to say. Her brother, Blitz.
Pain leapt to the final building, then gathered his strength as he made a massive bound that sent him flying over the high walls of the Justice Society's Headquarters, and rolled upon hitting the ground to avoid causing another crater. He popped back up to see several ponies staring at him for his surprising 'grace' if you wish to call it that. "What, big ponies can't move like tiny ones?" he asked as he waited for Sprite to land next to him.
Sprite did her flip trick that contained momentum. She landed to a stop as soon as she touched the ground, without stumbling. Taking a deep breath, she started to walk down the stairs. "Nice landing." she called over her shoulder, as she trotted down the steps.
Pain made his way to the control room where he found 'Joker' bathed by the light of his wall of computer monitors, and he tried to glean as much as he could from the screens before Joker started talking, but it was mostly code, definitely something Pain was not good at deciphering, but one thing did catch his eye, "Hm, Black Plague...I know that guy." he said aloud, maybe he could supply something the Joker couldn't if they didn't know, but he doubted that.
“This fellow is dangerous as they come.” Joker began. “He almost killed Celestria and the royal family twice. He also wants to rule Equestria the way he believes it was ment to be ruled, as a tyrant. He slaughtered millions of people centuries before and he was defeated everytime as he is placed in a stone rune.” “Dark Plague isn’t a criminal; he is more of a dark god. And he wants Equestria under his belt.” Joker said sadly, opening another softdrink can.
Pain nodded, "Yup, that's the Plague I'm thinking of then. And that means we've got one hell of a fight on our hooves comrades."
Joker then looked at Pain grimly. “Thats our problem, we have no idea what his weakness is. We need to send everyone then; we can’t have one hero left behind for this fight. I’ve spotted him by himself on South Street, Good luck.”
Sprite nodded. She pulled on her mask and put on her wide brimmed hat. "By roof?" she asked the other heroes. "He won't be able to see us coming."
Pain sighed, then looked at all the heroes currently in the room, "Take a look around comrades, take a deep look at everypony in this room right now, because if we are going to be fight Plague, then I have a feeling our numbers will be quite...thinned." he said, before walking up to Joker, ideas of his own forming in his head. "Joker, comrade, look, I am familiar with comrade Plague, I could use this to help, but I won't be able to tell a whole lot. Just a warning comrade." and with that, Pain galloped out of the room at extremely high speeds for the huge stallion.
Sprite ran besides Pain, towards the roof. She leapt for the nearest roof, and started leaping one by one.
Ecliptic was stunned. More due to the magnitude of his first assignment that the fact that it was his first assignment. According to the records, most of the other new recruits started off small and gradually took on greater challenges. Still he was waiting for this moment ever since he joined. Finally he would be able to use his powers to help others, not just himself. He was already calculating strategies as the group ran out to face their enemy.
"Comrade, please, whatever you see me do there, do not judge me for it. It will be for the best, trust me." Pain said to Sprite, right before suddenly coming to a complete stop on top a roof and the disappeared off the side of the building, plummeting nearly a hundred feet before he smacked into the pavement, leaving a large crater. By the time the dust settled down below, he was gone.
Plague was walking around South Street. He was surrounded by two purple ponylike figures which he created as protection and for the fact that he doesn’t want to get his hands dirty at the moment. He was having the time of his life as he shot a magic laser out of his hoofs, destroying buildings and murdering innocents. He would be having fun, if it wasn’t for the sudden arrival of the Justice Society. “Hello. I’m the one known as Dark Plague and I’ll be tonight’s entertainment.” He said jokely. “If you are the ones that are going to stop me, then you have made a big mistake. All of you don’t know a thing about me….” He then noticed Pain in the crowd. “Except Pain, long time no see.” “Now, who is going to make the first move?” Plague said as he unleashed a large magic beam at the Justice Society.
Pain merely ducked out of the way of the magical beam then tore off the Justice Society emblem from his jacket, "I don't come to fight you comrade!" Pain called to Plague, taking a cautious step towards him, the expression on his face mostly hidden by his mask.
Pain looked over his shoulder, I warned you, he thought, but now was to late to give any hint, then he looked back at Plague, as much as he hated it, he knew that in the end, what he had planned was for the best.
