Pain walked through the dark, dusty, and damp room he had found himself in. A mere 3 years ago, this place was buzzing with activity, the hub for Pain's first intrusion into the city, and in fact the very building that introduced organized crime to the city. Now, it was just another relic of Pain's criminal past. Now, it was his hiding place until he could convince Plague to trust him, and that meant no direct contact with the Justice Society. He found in his old office he had rarely been in the leftover of the buildings abandonment. His office had been left untouched by hooves since the day he left the place for the last time. He walked over to his desk and popped it open, where old papers were revealed, showing old reports, haul amounts, etc. he slumped into his old chair and sighed, this is a lot harder than he thought it would be.
(Meanwhile.) Plague returned to what would be his ‘Home’, an ancient throne room inside a mountain from 781 years ago. It was surrounded by the stone from the mountain itself and contained a bed, a table, a detailed map of Equestria on the stone wall, his throne and the very rune which he was contained in when he was defeated. He trotted over to the map on the wall and studied it on how much Equestria had changed since the last time he was imprisoned 500 years earlier. ‘Times have changed, and so must the change of pace that Equestria must be ruled under.’ Plague began remembering his first defeat by Celestria, and then later by the warriors of equestria, he is not going to let that happen again. He noticed the towns closest to his home, a sizeable town called Hoofington and another one called Ponyville, the same town where he first encountered the warriors of equestria. He also sent a message to Pain, saying that they should ‘Catch Up’. “The infection will begin once again and there will be no mess up’s this time.” Plague said as he then casted a spell on the sky above him, turning it dark grey. The Infection is a spell created by Plague in which turns the clouds grey and causes the cloud to grow in size, Plague used the spell to cover all of Equestria in days in the past and is Unchangeable to Pegasus ponies. When the caster wills it, it rains small purple and black balls around the selected area, the purple and black balls then cluster together to make up a solid lifeform that creates Plagues army. The life forms which are known as ‘True Infected’ vary in size, power and form. They range from a simple pony like hybrid solider to the infamous Banshees, Angels and Devastators that were used in plagues forces when he attempted to take Equestria 800 and 500 years before. The Infection is also spread from a True infected or even Plague himself to another uninfected pony known as “Normal’s” (Like a zombie virus.) When infected on an Normal, it takes over its mind, using it as a mind control device where they are fanatically loyal to Plague. However on Normal victims, the mind control can be broken except for the true infected. This time, the infection was speed up dramatically as plague enhanced its spread speed from 4 days to 12 hours. The Cloud spread rapidly across Equestria, and will then rain. Plague simpily smiled at the thought.
Upon receiving Plague's message, Pain set out to the place where he knew Plague would have set up shop, but before he did so, he sent one last warning to the JS, telling them to be wary of the clouds and that from them an extremely dangerous threat would fall. After sending it, he took of his JS communicator and crushed it underneath his hooves. He ran as fast as he could to the mountain, knowing that he could very well be going into a trap, but it would be for the best, and Pain also knew that one slip-up, and he's dead, or worse, Infected. Pain shuddered at the thought of that as the mountain in front of him grew ever closer, and arrived to the entrance to the tunnel to Plague's throne room a mere thirty minutes after leaving his old headquarters. He sat down in front of the door and collected his thoughts, hoping beyond hope that he could convince Plague enough to trust him with his own free will.
Two of Plagues guards were guarding at the door which Pain was located. They Spoke a fluent alien like language but then changed to English. “You must be the one called Pain, our master is waiting for you inside. Remember that one mess up or threat towards him will result in infection or death.” The guards then let Pain inside the temple, where he found Plague sitting at his desk creating plans.
Pain put on his best brave, yet friendly face as he approached Plague, "Ah, hello again comrade Plague! I must say, you look to be doing quite well." Pain said as he then proceeded to look around the room, "So, how are you comrade?" he asked as he became interested in a map of Equestria, intrigued by its detail.
“I’m doing quite well at the moment. Phase 1 of my plan is nearly completed, and phase 2 should require a much more than a single Alicorn like myself.” He noticed Pains eyes looking at his highly detailed map of Equestria. “The infection, a glorious spell created by myself during my first exile in the dimension I was sent to. The True infected will be created from the rain that will fall soon, and the normal’s will be forced to be under my new rule.” Plague seen Pains eyes wander around for a split second, plague knew he was trying to absorb as much info as possible. Plagues right hoof suddenly changed and morphed from this purple and black spell which then his hoof transformed from a single hoof to a fusion of a dragon hybrid foot. “Don’t take me like an idiot Pain, if your working for the J.S then I will personally rip you apart.” His hoof then returned to its normal form. “But after our last encounter, then I guess your freelance now. Now, is there anything on your mind about my plan or who I was when I was once Celestrias student?”
Pain shook his head, "You can reveal that on your schedule comrade." he said, "And don't worry, I just like getting a look at anywhere I spend any length of time in, I found it can be quite useful." Pain then returned his attention to Plague, "So, anything I can help with comrade? Or do you wish to continue a conversation, which I'm sure you don't get to indulge in very often."
"You can say no to this idea but i need infomation on the Justice Society. Any info that might be handy to my conquest will be much appreciated, and you would also be handsomely rewarded when my plan is complete. Remember that if you dont want to, i will just create spys to do so." Plague then continued his discussion with Pain, until they parted ways later on that day. ------------------------ "Mistake......" Joker said to Mare do well as searched through mountains and mountains of data. "Not much is known but at sometime 781 years ago, Celestria ordered the destruction of her own race so that they could never threaten Equestria again. We dont know why she did that except that Plague was never told about the Alicorn Purge and that he started his first conquest which became known as 'The Dark War' soon after as a revenge attack, which he killed tens and millions of innocents and much more soliders." Joker then turned to face Mare Do Well. "Will this help, i dont have much on here about the subject. You might find much more info in the libary."
Mare Do Well took the information that Joker gave to her. "Thanks, Joker." Mare Do Well knew that the more that the Justice Society knew about their enemy, the better. She headed to the library, but before doing so, she stopped by her room and chanced out of her costume. While it was good for combat, it was hardly conducive for reading.
Pain wondered the hallways of the underground fortress, thoughts swirling in his head, if he gave information to Plague, that just wouldn't be right considering his mission, but Plague said that he would plant his own spies in the Justice Society if he refused, that meant total and free information flow. He was essentially stuck between a rock and a hard place, and in the end he chose the rock, hoping that it would be soft enough to break through, next time he met Plague, he would tell him about the Justice League...
After giving their mission report, Ecliptic made his way to the library to help Mare Do Well research Plague and the Alicorn Purge. With another pony, they would be able to find out more, and faster, and knowledge was the best tool they had. His abilities would also allow him to piece together bits of information and remember the finer details. When Ecliptic arrived, he saw her, out of costume, pulling books off a shelf. "Find anything interesting, yet?" he asked as he approached.
Sprite changed out of her clothes, and walked into the library. Since she normally had a mask on, no one really knew her face that well. She walked up to the two ponies.
(Meanwhile, PLOT TWIST !!!!) After Pain left, Plague then flew to Cloudsdale. When Plague was above Cloudsdale. The Civilians were aware of Plagues presence and the sudden change of colour of the clouds surrounding the city. Plague then raised his right hoof and charged a huge energy ball the size of a car. He then threw it at Cloudsdale and hit the city with the impact of a low powered bomb, and a flash of white could be seen from the surface below and created a sound that could be heard for hundreds of miles. With most of the city destoryed, Plague then formed his footsoliders and ordered to capture the survivors. He also forced the Cloudsdale population to either be infected or have your wings removed and be thrown off Cloudsdale to a plummeting death. Nobody said no to the infection and became infected. Once they were infected they immediantly began to build Plague his own city over the foundation of Cloudsdales ruins and other parts of the city. Plague smiled as he set up phase 2 of his invasion plan.
Cherry turned toward "the Newbie", (A name which wasn't really meant to be derogatory; everyone was The Newbie once) and sighed. "Ah well, Dewey pointed me in the right direction, but all these history books are going to make me cross-eyed." Just then, she spied another pony approaching them. Another newbie? Cherry nodded at the newcomer. "I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you were assigned to the Plague case, too, right?"
Pain walked into Plague's throne room, after being told sit in a corner and wait. But being curious, he couldn't help but look around as he waited for Plague to return from wherever. He found himself studying the maps on the wall, every detail of the room, for almost no other reason than he was bored. After an intensive look around, he returned to the chair that he had been told to sit in and waited for Plague's return, This is for the best...he tried to tell himself, but he couldn't convince himself.
Joker called out on the PA system. "Cloudsdale has been hit by Plague ! He destoryed most of it using a large ball of magic and has infected all the surviving population. We cant help due to some storm clouds that will strike anypony down and the fact they are also unbreakable and since that he has many soliders. He is building a flagcity at an alarming rate over the ruins from Cloudsdale. Im sorry but all we can do now is wait until he makes his next move. The Pegasas population at Cloudsdale is out of this case or 'War' if you call it one." Joker said sadly
(I was actually trying to play the "new guy" part, thanks for picking up on it) Ecliptic flipped through the history books, picking out common dates. Most of the books only had small pieces of what would be a large excerpt. Then, the PA system rang out with terrible news. He did his best to bury his shock, and focused on the books, visualizing specific sentances floating off the pages and rearranging themselves into a cohesive essay. "We are going to make Plague pay for this. Anything important, just shout it out. I need to write this down." Ecliptic said, putting the refined text on paper.
Morrow blinked, and suddenly, she was on top of the book case, grabbing the first book she could grab. The movement was very quick. It reminded the other ponies of Sprite, which they now might realize is Morrow.
