Dark yelps, waking up. "I-I.... I don't know... Why is it so quiet? There's no more thoughts... I can't hear my queen..." He mutters out loud, starting to panic.
"You heard it Braeburn! Get on a line with the captain of the Equestrian Guard. Tell him I'm calling in a favor. In the mean time, I'll research any magic that can help us stop them."
Braeburn nods, galloping to the city hall. Dark snickers, trying to act tough. He felt so weak, changelings had strength in numbers, not as individual fighters.
Dark shivers, looking at him. "What were we after the first time? You think the end goal has changed?"
"I know you want emotion! But who, or what is the emotion you seek in?!" Riposte lowered the temperature drastically yet again.
Riposte returned the temperature to normal. He walked out the door, and pulled a crystal out of his bag, and squeezed the crystal, causing a catalog of all the books in the Canterlot library to appear in a holographic form. He scoured the "shelves" for anything on changeling-slaying magic.
Dark sighs, walking around his cell. He didn't want to be here, he wanted to be alongside his queen... But, had he told too much? Braeburn gallops back to the sheriff's office. "I alerted them, they're sending all the troops they can spare."
"Good. I still haven't found anything on Changeling Slaying. In a worse case scenario, I'll have to go all out with my magic."
"Nothing that we didn't know. The Changelings are still after emotion. Also, get your officers to evacuate the citizens. Things might get ugly."
Riposte closed his eyes, and his horn glowed. He saw a couple kilometers away, to find the Changelings fly en masse to Appleloosa. He trotted full speed to where they would arrive. He did some breathing exercises and began gathering power.
The changelings stop when one of them spots Riposte. They had minimal information on this target. They would wait for the Queen to assess the situation.
Riposte sat down. The changelings mostly didn't have a mind of their own, save for the Queen, so they would likely consult her before doing anything.
Chrysalis flies up to the front of the swarm, glaring at Riposte. She lands, starting to walk towards him as the swarm separates, keeping their distance from him.
"Hello, your majesty" Riposte said quite sarcastically. He had a smug look on his face. "I am honored by your appearance, My queen." He stood up, and bowed, again in a sarcastic manner.
