Chrysalis scowls at him. "You are not worthy to even speak to me." She hisses, her horn glowing. All of the changelings stop in midair, turning towards Riposte.
"A prize? I am no prize!" Chrysalis growls, shooting a beam of magic at him. She expected a little resistance, but never such a rude and disrespectful foe.
Riposte shielded his face with his hoof, suffering moderate burns. "Hey, no need to attack me." Riposte suddenly radiated an intense magic aura. "I'm willing to work things out. Really." He grinned, the aura becoming visible as a white mist around him now.
"So you'll surrender peacefully?" Chrysalis smirks. The armored officers of the changelings were barely able to hold their troops back.
Riposte had though of a plan. It was heavily improvised, but if it worked well , He could disperse the Changelings. "Sure. Why not?" He approached Chrysalis, hiding his true intentions from the Queen Changeling.
Chrysalis thinks, then smirks. One of her officers flies up to her, handing her what looked to be like a ring. She levitates the ring in the air, then puts it on Riposte's horn. The ring tightens, glowing with a shadowy aura.
Riposte felt the ring tighten. This most likely strengthened Changeling Brainwashing, or so he assumed. Riposte discretely locked away his conscience in the deepest part of his mind, where it would resurface in about 30 minutes. This was risky however. If something changed , he would have to break the control manually, which was significantly harder. Acting pretty convincingly, he asked, "What's the ring for?"
"It nullifies magic completely." Chrysalis says. "Well, try and use it, and you'll get shocked. Now, what did you do with my scout?"
The ring complicated things. It didn't stop him from using magic, but, it did, deter him from using it. He would have to wait for an opportunity to attempt to overpower it. "He's in a jail cell at the Sheriff's Office. Can't guarantee he's even there or still alive anymore."
A few changelings fly down, to guard Riposte. "If you do not wish to die slowly and painfully, you will fight against your kind." Chrysalis says, looking at him.
"As it may be." Said Riposte, this time doing a very convincing bow. "At least put me under control so that I may not remember it." He said. His plan was to fall under the spell for a bit, then throw them off guard by breaking free.
Chrysalis smirks, putting a mind control spell on him. "Refresh it every 5 minutes." She instructs his guards. "Now, attack."
Riposte felt absolute bliss wash over him as he lost conscious control of his mind and body. However, sub-consciously, he was celebrating. "I'm in the hive mind." Riposte could observe the thoughts of Changelings. He focused on one very much, compelling it to do a simple action: Touch it's nose. It complied. "I could take them out one by one like this." In the outside, Riposte's eyes turned green and he had a blank stare. "Your will will be carried out, Mistress Chrysalis." Riposte reached into his bag, and pulled out a knife before marching back to Appleloosa.
Chrysalis smiles, ordering a small unit to follow him. About 50 move away from the main group, following Riposte. The rest of the changelings start to swarm into the town. Dark was curled up in the cell floor, trying to sleep.
Riposte's subconscious planted a command in the minds of many changelings, including a captain, to attack the nearest changeling in 5 minutes, the same time as the next refresh. Now he just focused on building power to overpower the ring.
Chrysalis watches. Her plan was going smoothly, and she even had an extra troop. Nothing could stop her now. The changelings start to swarm into the town, attacking any pony they found.
Riposte's unconscious mind was able to stay the hand of his conscience self, instead urging it to just scare away stragglers. Only one more minute until the mutiny.
