((OH MY GOD... Was that... was that the fourth wall I saw her pushing against!?!?!?!?!?!?!?)) He looked at Nightshade and shook his head. "I am here for the same reason Jack came here initially. To ensure the balance that Celestia offset, returns to normal." He smiled. "And I'll share a little secret with you. No one dies until the gods decide they don't need them. They just take a break from this plane of existence." He took on a more serious expression. "As for Tricorna... She's having a very shocking experience now... and it shall be the last one she ever does... But that's not important now. The battle is still hours away. We only have so much time to do everything before then!" "Thank you." Tricorna cuddled up to his side. "Lead the way, sir." She smiled the biggest smile of her life. (I feel this part of story can cut here till the next morning, but if you want to play it a bit more, that's fine)
(I can see the thing between Ven and Tricorna going....places *no dirty joke implied*. Shall we skip to the morning? Also, nice 4th wall break Ridley )
Nightshade giggled. "Pushing against it? Actually, Dreamer, I'm leaving it in ruin." Silver frowned. "You're not going to be happy until you rip a hole in the multiverse, are you? Stop talking to the roleplayers!" Turning back to Obsidian, he shrugged. "Ignore her. Let's go celebrate your return. I know Holly is going to be thrilled to see you, and I'm sure the others will be, too."
"Yes. I know they all will be." Obsidian smiled and walked with Silver out of the building. (That's a fair cut point to jump to the morning now.)
Thirteen hours before Final Battle... The Eriborian struggled to get out of bed in the next morning. After getting dressed in his armour due to the Ryborian heading out for one last battle, he walked outside of his royal chambers and headed towards Tricorna’s room. As he opened the door and walked inside, he noticed that the sleeping doe was glowing faintly. “Goddess, it’s already happening.....” Venquis promised to give his friend her final wish, and did not fail on that promise. The last night they spent together was magical, everything about the night was perfect. Venquis got her a beautiful pink dress for her to wear, while he wore his royal clothing. Her smile and laugh turned the negatives of war into positives for the Eriborian. And now...it was unfortunately coming to an end. Two Crimson Roses looked at their Eriborian, staring in silence at the doe with his mind focused and sad. Both of them went to his side, to comfort him. “I’ll be back soon, I need to do this by myself.” Venquis said as he soon paced slowly inside of the room and placed a small and silent spell for her to stay on a cloud, the way he had decided for her passing. He then carried her sleeping body and flew up into the sky (Was given the gift of wingless flight by Sihana before fighting Jack) over fifty miles from the city of Neromia to the west across the ocean. When he got to a high enough altitude, he placed her down on a cloud as she soon woke up not long after. Venquis stood nearby her, muttering a prayer in silence and trying to hold back his tears.
Tricorna's eyes opened only slightly, but they only appeared as blue orbs of energy. "So. This is it..." She stood up carefully on the cloud which quickly grew grey as her energy turned it into a storm cloud. "I wish I could have taken a different path, but all things considered..." She looked at Venquis happily. "It could have been worse." She looked around the landscape below them and sighed before sitting down on the cloud.
Venquis sat besides her as the storm cloud began to turn darker and darker. "I will never forget you. Never" Venquis simply said. "It has been a long time since i could be with another whom I cared about. The last time was when....my family before the Black War happened. I grew up under five Ryborian masters, five masters who not only cared for me, but also died for me as well. Since then, I've been alone. Alone in the wilderness running a tavern that used to attract travelers for hundreds of miles. There was nobody i knew, nobody that cared for me other then the Divine's after the war. Until...I encountered the other members of my friends, and...you Tricorna. I never really had a family growing up, I was too young to remember them perfectly. I never forgot them, I never forgot the Princesses of Equestria and all of those who fight for peace including when i knew your Brother, and I'll never forget you." Venquis then looked at the vast stretch of ocean, easily two kilometers below. "Seems like it's time." He said before looking directly at the doe's eyes. "I was told by my mother when i was younger that when she left, she...wouldn't say goodbye to me. Instead, she always told me, "Never say goodbye." If you don’t say 'goodbye,' then you aren't really gone. You...just aren't here right now. So i simply wont say goodbye, I will just say until we meet again Tricorna." Venquis said before hugging Tricorna, tears now streaming down his face. (*Que incredibly sad music*)
Nightshade spent most of the night with Obsidian, celebrating his return. As she expected, their friends were quite surprised to see him. It worked out quite well for her, because his resurrection drew focus away from her own. She did not feel like having to explain how she had managed it. Silver joined them at around midnight, after tending to some last-minute preparations for the upcoming battle. Holly, who had taken to hanging around with the old tomb guardian Hemlock in the last few days, joined them an hour later, and together, they all watched as the Princess of the Night brought forth a new day.
Celestia stood on the top of her ruined palace and city in Old Canterlot, making sure preparations were set for the final day of her life. She got dressed accordingly, tided herself up and sat down to look at the horizion, noticing her sister had taken the responsibility of her raising the sun . She ensured no weaknesses, practicing by herself with her weapon until warming herself up with stretches. Once done, she stood deathly still as she looked unto the horizon once more, a flag of the Empire now placed behind her. The top of the staircase hid her from view, but knew that her enemies would see her walking down. She was almost ready to die, but almost ready to make her own personal final stand.
"Yes. Until we meet again... Just... Try to look for me the next time it rains." She looked down at the cloud which slowly was reaching up her legs and spreading out like a proper storm. "It's time for you to go now. Good luck..." With that the winds quickly picked up and the cloud overtook her. "This has been a wonderful... return, my friends, but I believe the dawn of a new day is time to leave the past and prepare ourselves for what lies ahead. And what lies ahead today... is far from peaceful and relaxing." Obsidian addressed the small group around him, Silver, Nightshade, and anyone else who was to participate in the final battle, short of Venquis. (I'm not sure which characters will be participating in it >.<)
(Mearly anybody who can hold their own in a fight. So the major characters such as Silver, Obsidian, Nightshade, Venquis, Midnight, Crimson. Anybody you wish to participate can do so.) With Tricorna suddenly disappearing, Venquis allowed himself to fall from the sky towards the Ocean before flying back towards Neromia to collect Moonsaber. Once his deputy was in charge and told the news of what could happen if he were not to survive, the Eriborian took to the skies and flew to the long travel towards New Canterlot, arriving three hours later. Once he arrived in the Equestrian capital, he made his way up the stairs to finally see his friends once more. But while he was just leaving Ardelan, it rained. From now on, rain meant something else to the Eriborian.
Nightshade sighed, and looked disapprovingly at Crim and Dreamer. "Yes. That was all very beautiful. Look at me, I'm all choked up. Seriously, can we cut the emotional garbage and make with the violence?" Silver shook his head. If she didn't stop, everypony was going to start thinking she was crazy. Either that, or they would go crazy themselves when they learned the truth. Finding out that you don't actually exist is more than most ponies can handle. He walked over and joined his friends. "It's almost time. Celestia's army has abandoned her, and she is weakened. One final attack is all it will take to end the Phoenix Queen for good."
(This whole 4th wall scenario gave me an idea for a new role-play...) The Eriborian soon walked up the stairs of the palace and was soon greeted by two Republic guards who let him in without problems, soon making his way towards the throne room. Upon his own arrival, he noticed a four pony group that was made up from Crimson, Ocean, Midnight and Summer, dressed in their armours as they stood around talking. As he walked in, he noticed something surprising. Obsidian and Nightshade were standing nearby Silver, who were deceased the last time he recalled, standing and taking to each other. Rather than standing still until he was noticed, he simply went over to Silver while he was talking about the finishing blow against Celestia. “Army?” Venquis joined in the conversation. “The moment the Republic pushed into Equestria, there was no army. The enormous theater in Republic lands, wiped out to the last solider. The occupation force in my homeland, gone.” Venquis said. “A year ago, yes, there was an army. More specifically, a colossal sized one. Now, it’s practically non-existent.” The Eriborian then looked at all of the two Alicorn Princesses and the Queen of the Changelings, talking to each other and laughing like good friends, and then there was the Elements of Harmony he was told all about enjoying themselves. “A couple more hours, and that Phoenix Queen is dead. Don’t hold back, I know that you and me certainly won’t. And don’t get me started on Midnight and the Night Princess....”
"The princesses will not joining the the attack. I've asked them, and the bearers of the Elements, to remain in city. They are simply too important to risk losing." Silver sighed. "Welcome back, by the way. I assume your return means that you won?"
Venquis sighed heavily. "Yes...and no. Ardelan is now back under Ryborian control, just the way it should be. All of the Equestrian soldiers still in Ardelan are most likely obliterated by now or sent back home, and the source for the Juggernauts, alongside another project they were working on, are now destroyed. I don't think we should spread talk about the Juggernaut's, now that i know what those monstrosities are. However, Tricorna is dead. I'm sure Obsidian has told you of her demise already." The tone in his voice still indicated sadness, but he had to move on. "One of my Roses told me that she is expecting us at around sundown. Now that we know that, she at least understand the time for when she is going to die." The Ryborian replied. "This is going to be the hardest battle I've ever fought, we are literally going to kill a god"
"I fought her once, at her full power. Did I ever tell you about it? It was a few days after Obsidian died. I had sent a dozen recruits on a training mission, and they got ambushed by about fifty Flares. My recruits put up a hell of a fight, but in the end, only one made it home. Before he died from his injuries, he told me that the leader of the Flares had said that Celestia herself had sent them. The ambush was meant for me." Silver sighed heavily, and continued. "I was furious. I flew straight to Canterlot, cutting down anypony who got in my way. I smashed open the door to the throne room, and challenged her to face me. I was determined to end the war there and then. I fought the Phoenix Queen for nearly eight hours. I used every move, every spell, every dirty trick I know. Eventually, I saw an opening, and I took it. Just as she was preparing to fire another energy blast, I rushed in and swung at her neck. I think I was even more surprised than she was when her head hit the floor, but I was even more surprised by what happened next." Silver downed a mug of cider, and concluded his tale. "I thought it was over. Nothing can survive losing it's head, right? Imagine my shock as I flew out of the city, exhausted, only to come face-to-face with Celestia and an army of Swifts. Somehow, her magic had been powerful enough to bring her back, even from a fatal wound. I used a shout to turn myself ethereal, and got out of there as fast as I could. That was the day I finally realized the true extent of her power, and began searching for a way to fight it. My research eventually led me to discover the locations of the other Rings of Downfall." He laughed. "She may be as strong and fast as ever physically, but without her magic, when we cut her, she'll STAY cut.
"As well and good as that is, Silver... We will not have 8 hours to land a critical blow this time, and I can assure you, decapitation is going to be far harder to achieve then back then..." Obsidian nodded his head, seemingly to say something to himself. "Of course the fight is merely a formality. She WILL die. She knows this, as do the gods, and all of us here, I'm sure. We just have to be the ones to cause it, and no pony wants to die."
"Nopony wants to die, but only a fool lives their lives in fear of death. Myself, I'd prefer to die fighting." Silver laughed, and poured himself another mug of cider. "However, I have no intention of dying today." Nightshade stood near the bar, drinking and petting Hemlock. The Timber-Wolf had gotten rather attached to her in the last few hours, and Silver was pleased to see that his daughter had finally found a worthy fighting companion. Holly, his own oldest friend, lay asleep in the corner.
"The Nine Divines and the Gods have personally marked her for death, she will not live today. The Divines could have stepped in and wiped her of the face of the earth, but they believe in the destiny they have given us. We are the ones killing her because of our relationship with her, personal and non personal issues about her. The monster will die tonight, make no mistake." The Eriborian said while finishing off his drink. "Not dying would be nice, and I intend not to die today. I don't enjoy killing, but when done righteously, it's just a chore, like any other." (Time skip to an hour before the battle?)
( Give RobinHood a chance to join in. Then we can move forward.) Silver laughed. "Righteous killing? We've slaughtered millions, simply because they chose to believe differently than us. There's nothing righteous about that. The only difference between us and the Equestrians that we killed is that we were fortunate enough to be stronger. In their eyes, we were heretics, defying the will of their goddess. In the end, history is written by the victor, so we will all be remembered as heroes. Just don't forget what we REALLY are."
