Dark Blitz saw the newcomer, he would ignore him until he was done with his own inventory. He was friendly towards all ponies, if they disrespected him then he disrespected them. Blitz had just finished, so, he decided to go and greet the newcomer, seeing it was an Earth Pony, "Well, at least we'll have a helper in constructs, hope he's friendly."
Swipes checked her stocks as well, and then handed everyone an canteen. "If anypony wants food, feel free to check through my pack, as long as you tell me what you take."
The giant pony set down his cart, sighing in relief to releasing the heavy load, the somewhat seasoned earth-pony. Sitting. He commented to the others in his incredibly deep voice that matched his incredibly large size: "Sorry I'm late."
Dark was not a loner any more, now there were two tall ponies. "Hey, you made it alive, thats all that counts."
He looked towards his cargo, his dark green eyes subtly gleaming under the shadow of his his hat. "I wish I might have had cargo that was less depressing to think about... but someone has to do it." His eyes shown how much he slept, which was barely. He took a rather large coffin from his cart, and opened the lid, revealing the bare wood covered by ragged, dirty sheets and a blanket, with an equally worn-out pillow. He stepped into it and plummeted down from being so tired, just as he always was. "It's sad, I know, but if anyone wants some kind of bed, I'll be mighty fine for you to take a coffin to make somethin' to sleep in out of."
Nova nodded. A coffin would not be the strangest place she had ever slept. "Not a bad idea. There should be some hay out in the barn, and some spare blankets laying around here someplace. Thank you for your kind offer... um... I'm sorry, but I didn't catch your name."
Steel was baffled. 'Is he really going to sleep in a coffin!' He thought to himself. 'I knew Earth Ponies were down to Earth but this is rediculus!' He decided to go to the other side of the room and finish off his trail mix.
The man looked over to Nova... "Jeremiah. Crow. Though where I come from, people who know me call me by the nickname Scarecrow. Silly, I know, but I have taken to it a bit. Go ahead and take yourself one of them boxes. They ain't a big fluffy pillow, I know, but they do provide a feeling of comfort."
Dark thought for a moment before something tugged on his tail. He turned his head seeing Dark Shine, "hey Blitz, who is that?"
"Ya, I think I'll just sleep this chair." Steel placed his empty bowl to the side and took a blanket he found in the corner and placed it over his body. The chair wasn't an ideal place for sleeping but he would do anything to stay away from those coffins.
"Suit yourself." The giant pony commented as he lied upon the ground. He rested his eyes but did not go to sleep... he became bored, and decided to get up. He went outside. over to Dark Blitz. "Go on in, son. I'll take watch."
"Thanks, we got a dragon on watch, and hey, you think my little sister could sleep in that coffin?" Dark asked respectfully, his sister asked him to ask the pony if she could sleep in it, she was afraid of him.
Nova introduced herself, and thanked Scarecrow again, before heading out to the barn. Near the barn doors, she found the body of a skinny old Manticore. She turned to Static, who had joined her, and shook her head sadly. "Manticores almost never leave the forest. He must have thought that you'd be an easy meal." Static hesitated before answering. "The creature... was not after me." With a sigh, he pointed their cart, where Silver Crescent lay sleeping. Next to him, snoring quietly, was a Timber-Wolf cub. "There are no other Timber-Wolves nearby. I would be able to smell them if there were. She must have been orphaned or abandoned." Nova gritted her teeth, trying to remain calm. "Okay... but why is that creature... that wild, dangerous creature... SLEEPING RIGHT NEXT TO OUR SON?!" Static sighed. "I feared that you would react like this. If you wish to make it leave, I will not argue with you." Scowling, Nova walked over the cart and reached for the sleeping pup. Instantly, her son's eyes snapped open, and he jumped protectively in front of his new friend. Growling as menacingly as his small body could manage, the colt addressed his mother. "No! My puppy!" Behind her, Static laughed and held up his bandaged finger. "You got off lucky. When I tried to move the pup, Silver bit me."
"Of course! I don't.... really sleep.... so I guess I'll just wander around, maybe look for anything we might be able to use later." The pony's weary eyes and gentle smile were only emphasized by the shadow of his hat and the dark of the night. He nodded his head and wandered off around the farm...
Nova sighed. Silver had no intention of giving up his new friend without a fight. Despite her dislike of the creatures, Nova knew that such a young Timber-Wolf posed no threat to her son. For the time being, Silver would get his way. "I don't have time for this. Keep the little beast, for all I care. Just don't come crying to me when it chews your wings off!" Shaking her head in frustration, she walked away from the cart and went into the barn to gather hay for bedding. Chuckling under his breath, Static picked up his sword and returned to watch duty.
Dark Blitz chuckled at the fact the young one wasn't giving up the pup, he overheard the conversation. As Dark Shine fell asleep inside the coffin with two quilts wrapped around her, Blitz would be happy of that. But he still needed to watch, "I better get some sleep for tomorrow, don't wanna fall over and die."
Jeremiah stood outside in a field of tall grass, sitting, looking at the stars. He hummed the lullaby once sung to him by his mother, and simply watched the stars. He always found them quite beautiful, and gave him comfort.
Dark Blitz was about to go to sleep outside in front of the door, a good three hours should do him grand. He heard humming, "The hey?" He walked around until seeing a dark figure in a large field of grass gazing at the stars. it reminded him of home, but he didn't care much of it. Darks mother wasn't all that great towards him, so he cared that he died, but he showed no emotion aside from his sister beyond that point.
Jeremiah didn't look back, but knew Blitz was there. "Have you ever just looked at the stars? Just wondered what's out there for us all? The world is big, and us... we're all just so small..." He merely looked at the skies, his eyes reflecting the silvery light. He took off his hat, his grey mane shifting from the wind. He felt so old, despite the fact he was only middle-aged. His mind was tired, though his body rarely was, though his insomnia wasn't helping...
Blitz sighed and sat next to the Earth pony, "I've looked at the stars, or I tried to," Blitz made himself comfortable, "My mother sang to me until our original father had died when I was twelve. My mother and sister and I were in a state of depression, and then HE came around. I never knew my stepfathers name, everything seemed to be all right, but s months went by he showed his darker side. He abused me and my sister, me the worst because I never called him, "Dad," or, "Father." He died when I was fifteen, eating a carrot, mother died when I was still twelve. I still miss that smile."
