The giant nodded and then headed towards the forest.

Deep in his thoughts, however, we couldn't help but worry. It was his nature to care, really. He hadn't met Apple Fritter, but nonetheless, the prolonged absence of this person worried him. Besides, he wondered, what would happen to the farm?

Dark Blitz sat down, looking at the sky. He looked straight ahead and saw some new ponies, might as well introduce himself.

The enthusiastic mare and the giant stallion walked together in amicable silence, making the short journey the edge of the Everfree in only a few minutes.
The forest was everything Virago had hoped for.
Surrounded by tall trees and strange plants, she began whistling a cheerful tune as she grabbed her axe from her cart.

Violet, busy watering her plants, noticed the Pegasus that was walking towards her.
Absorbed in her own thoughts, she nodded politely in greeting and quickly returned to her work.

The giant looked at a fallen tree, then used his large hoof to scrape the bark off, revealing the color of the wood; a bright red-tan color. "The color of the tree is important when choosing a good type of wood for fire. The red in this wood means it's a cedar, which is a great wood for burning. If we dry it out, it makes it twice as good." He lifted his great ax, and with a mighty swing as to where he used both his might and the weight of the blade, chopped the base of the tree clean through. He moved over to the space before the branches, and did the same, making a near six foot long log that he placed in his large, wood wagon.

    Virago nodded.
"Cedar's great for getting a fire going. It burns quick and hot, and it smells great.
Once you've got the fire built, though, you've gotta switch to a harder wood, like oak."

Spotting a decent sized oak tree, Virago approached and swung her axe into the trunk.
The axe blade bit into the wood, and remained lodged there, exactly as she had intended.
"I figured this trick out after a neighbor showed me how his family harvests apples. 'Apple-buckin', he called it."
Turning her back to the tree, Virago kicked both hind legs into the butt and shoulder of the axe.
The force of the kick pushed the blade almost completely through the tree trunk, and moments later, the tree fell.

    She laughed.
    "Timber."

Dark Blitz saw the mare trying to greet him and then turned back to her work, he didn't rely get her name.
"Hi, My name is Dark Blitz, do you mind telling me yours?" He asked politely.

Violet groaned, annoyed by the interruption. She had already greeted him, what more did he want from her?
"I'm Violet. Did you need something from me, or what?"

(The green text is hard to see, by the way.)

"Just never mind," Dark said as he turned and walked away, he had nothing to do.
He checked on his sister who was currently sleeping (of course), he sighed. Looking around he could just take a flight, look for new roads, do something productive.

The large earth-pony smirked. He liked this girl. She knew what she was doing. After a while, it started to rain heavily, and so he put a couple of tarps over their loads. "You go on ahead to the barn. I'll catch up. I'm slow, but I know a few things about the outdoors. I'll be okay."

Virago nodded, and lifted the fallen oak onto her cart.
It the trunk hung over five feet on either side, but she managed to get it balanced well enough to get it back home.
"Sure. It'll be safer to chop this back at the farm, anyway."

On the way back, she spotted a small patch of glowing blue flowers.
She'd never seen anything quite like them, but she knew that her plant-loving sister would be thrilled to add some to her garden.
Virago carefully dug up several of the plants, tossed them in her cart, and continued back to the farm.

The giant slowly followed. His knees ached, but they had for a very long time. He was big, and he felt so much older than he was, which was not a good thing for a stallion like him. He had pondered his mortality, and accepted it at the young age of six, which was something he felt no colt should have to do. Maybe this was why he was worried over someone he had never met, why he was comforted by the presence of others, why he had even decided on this type of mission; he was lonely, and he didn't want to have to dig his own grave and die in a six-foot deep hole with no one to be there for him. He thought it kind of selfish, wanting others to be present at his death, but he guessed nopony wanted to go out without seeing a face in their last breaths. And besides, he didn't want to be buried. He always imagined his funeral: his body neatly presented on an old wooden boat, which would be sent on fire, and sent out into the ocean. Maybe it was his insomnia. Maybe it was his tiredness. Maybe it was the fact he missed his mother after her death. Maybe he just missed his life as a child, when there was someone for him... Mommy. Where are you mama? I miss you so. I want you back. I don't want to be alone... But alas, his stoic face showed nothing. But then there was something. A tear. It stung his eyes against a harsh breeze, but his flustered face was cooled by the wind and the rain. He snapped back to reality. Before him was a huge creature, a creature comparative in size to the huge earth-pony himself. But Jeremiah stood his ground, letting out a loud snort like the massive stallion he was. The creature, something similar to some type of bear, simply just walked away. Jeremiah proceeded to the barn, and letting himself in, grunted in his incredibly deep, resonate voice: "Sorry I'm late."

He set down his wagon; He had just came in after chopping it into pieces that were good sizes for putting into the fireplace, as to which he stacked most of them next to, while putting a few in himself, and lit it by scraping the stone with his great hoof, sending sparks into the kindle and reviving a fire that had not been in that fire-place since who-knows-when. He adjusted his had and went back out, preferring the coolness of the rain, the tear-drops that heaven shed for him letting him know... everything was going to be alright. He hummed that old tune, the one about the crawfish hole that his momma sang to him all those years ago. It's not that he had to let her go so much as just that he already did. Any living creature loves it's ma.
