Dark Shine looked up at the massize hulking behemoth in front of him. "Thats.... Its... HUGE!" He exclaimed, louder than he meant to. "Sorry..." He muttered, trying to watch his volume of speech. He looked at the colours of the train. Much nicer than what he saw when he was in the place he was 'made'.
Facade examined the loud slightly annoying contraption in front of him. The first cart seemed to be producing some kind of gas that smelled awful and his wings twitched in agitation as the train bellowed the loud noise ripping through the air. He shook his head and noticed Hazel was cowering behind some boxes. With a small laugh he trotted over and poked her. "It's alright. It's just a..." His eyes flickered back to large machine which bellowed again. "Just a train. Come on." He offered his hoof to her to help her up.
((Edited slightly her speech)) Haze looked up at Facade, who was offering her a hoof in getting up. She thanked the brown pony, allowing him to help her. "Thanks... Sorry... I don't like loud things" she said, as they started towards the train again, "and everything's just so... Strange..." The train let out another loud noise, but Haze just ignored it this time. She just hoped it'd be quieter later. "Aren't you just a little frightened?"
Facade looked at Haze then back to the mechanical monstrosity in front of him. It stayed quiet for now the smoke calmly moving out of the giant tube on the front car. He was actually quite terrified of the Train as it was huge, loud, and he didn't have a clue on how it worked. But he turned back to Haze with a small smile. "Not at all! It can't hurt you...It's all run by ponies right? It can't do anything to us." He lied fluently hoping he would look a lot better then the clumsy pony who had crashed in front of them earlier. He slowly approached the train and stopped in front of the cart they were supposed to get onto.
"I guess..." She said as they looked at the carriage. This one was quite friendly looking, almost resembling a snack she'd seen from the table earlier. "Well then, here goes..." Haze was comforted by Facade's apparent optimism. What's the worst that could happen? The train was, after all, controlled by ponies. She put one hoof on the metal flooring of the outside of the train, testing it was secure, before putting her whole weight onto it, pouncing up over the gap between the train and the pathway. Immediately, she noticed how quiet it was in here, compared to how loud it was outside. She looked around the carriage, looking at the seats crammed in, trying to decide on a place to sit. "Where should we go?" Haze asked.
The shriek of the train whistle shattered Shield's concentration. He looked around for the source of the noise... and realized that there were no walls around him. It made him feel... very small, and vulnerable as well. He didn't like it very much. In fact, unlike the others, he would rather be in some sort of enclosure. Maybe even back in the building they had come from. The enormous, seemingly endless expanse was a little disconcerting. He also noticed the train. It let loose another piercing whistle, confirming that it was the source of the previous noise. Shield walked closer to the part that was letting off the clouds of steam, and ever curious, began an effort to understand why it was doing so, although he was wary of another whistle being sounded. After a while, he noticed that Haze and Facade were wandering into the carts that were behind the steam-spewing contraption, and he decided to follow. Obviously the object he had been examining was meant to somehow pull the carts, and he had come to the conclusion that perhaps more could be learned from the inside than the outside. Plus, the outdoors made him slightly uncomfortable; not enough to prevent him from being outside, but he preferred to be inside.
(Sorry I haven't posted in a bit. I've been elsewhere) Zephyr had been quiet for a while. Since the moment he had tried to calm Haze, he had driven himself into a state of thought. 'What if they really are just using us? What if they toss us away like trash once we're done? What if we screw up?!' The thoughts swirled around inside his mind and began to plague his disposition with harrowing thoughts. They made him feel hopeless, made him feel empty, he felt as if he were caught in a giant net. Mindlessly, he followed the group up a set of metal stairs as they made their way out of the labs. The dark thoughts continued to brew, but something caught Zephyr's eye. There was a luminescent light glowing brightly at the end of the stairwell. He fixed his eyes upon it and grew transfixed on what could have been the source. The group emerged from the subterranean laboratory and Zephyr shielded his eyes from the glorious light that washed over him. "What... Is this?" he said in an awe filled tone. The light continued to beat down on him. It made him feel warm, it made him feel happy. Looking around, Zephyr noticed the large space that surrounded him and the unfathomable height of the sky above him. It made him feel free. His wings stool up in excitement as he slowly began to take in his surroundings. The air rolled through the air and brushed against his face and the leaves flapped stationary on a tree nearby making a sound similar to the fans from the lab. Instead of a metal sheet under his hooves there was now a thick green shag there in its place. He pulled at it for a moment and much to his surprise it began to come out. "What kind of a floor is this?" He looked up and realized the group had gone on ahead while he was entranced. He ran up ahead to catch up and noticed they were all stunned. As he approached he spied what had them so transfixed. "So many surprises today..."
Cherry watched in awe, and more than a little bit of fear, as the gigantic...beast...no, carriage...no wait..."Train" rolled up in front of the group. It them let out a piercing whistle, causing Haze to dash behind a box. If only Cherry had those kinds of reflexes but for whatever reason, she almost expected the sound. Not that it didn't scare her, mind. She stood, shaking until the next whistle blew. As she remained still, she watched as the others walked past her and into the carriage of the train, each one showing different emotions, but mosty fear, confusion, or a mixture of both. She took one shaky step toward the train. Then another. Then another, and before she realized it, she was inside the carriage. This room was a lot smaller than even the room where she woke up, but much larger than her "bed". The strangest thing she noticed were the holes in the side. She walked up to one and tried to get a closer look. Then she slowly raised a hoof and tried to put it through the wall, but found to her surprise that it touched something solid. She slid her hoof up and down on the smooth surface a few times before she came to the conclusion that this must be the same stuff that the top of her bed was made of. She edged closer to the window and tried to get an even better look at it and suddenly, it turned opaque. She squeaked and drew away as she watched the opaque section get smaller and smaller until it went away entirely. What was that...? She got closer again and the same thing happened. It didn't take her long to realize that the opaque circle got bigger and smaller in time with her breathing. She touched it and it felt wet. It squeaked softly as she ran her hoof across it, leaving a line in its wake. Suddenly, for reasons completely unknown to her, she drew a long breath and exhaled all over the window. When the spot became large enough, she drew two circles next to each other, then a curved line underneath. She stepped back and admired her work. ◕ ‿ ◕ Why did I draw that?
As he wandered about attempting to locate the engine room with his subpar sense of direction (although not bad, considering his lack of experience navigating anything), he observed Cherry drawing something on the clear, transparent substance that allowed you to see outside of the train car. He walked closer in order to see what she was doing, exactly, and saw that the pattern she had made with her hoof was two dots...almost connected by a curved line. What a strange thing to draw, he thought. Nonetheless, it looked rather fun, and forgetting his quest to find the source of the steam, he walked up to the window next to hers and breathed on it. A thick, wet substance immediately covered the clear barrier, and he began to make random patterns in it.
Facade gingerly tapped the floor with his hoof as he clambered aboard the train. His wings shuffled on his back as he looked around watching and learning from the actions of the other Ponies. But he watched a certain pony with fascination as she tapped at something there yet...it wasn't. He was about to walk over and discover what the odd object was, but Hazel spoke up first. He turned back around to her. "Hmmm...Maybe we should explore further? Maybe we can get into a carriage with more room. Or cookies!"
Dark Shine looked out the window and to the sky. He'd never seen anything so beutifull in his short life time. "Wow..." He said, not caring what others would think. He stared at the clouds and how they stayed completly still. It facinated him yet scared him at the same time.
Cherry saw Shield mimic her actions and started watching him. Rather than draw the shapes that she had, he drew something completely different. They didn't appear like anything in particular (not that she would know even if they were). She moved closer and breathed on "her" window again. She tapped her chin with her hoof, trying to imagine what to place upon her new canvas. Then she giggled and drew a circle with a slightly curved line coming out the top. To her delight, it perfectly resembled a cherry (at least in her imagination). "Yum!"
She had put the last cookie in her mouth, and was surprised- she believed there to be more! Where'd they go so fast!!? As Flacade spoke his ideas, Haze's ears perked. She would love to go on a quieter carriage, to have a 'lil explore, and if they found a carriage which had some more cookies... That would just be fantastic. "Woo, Great idea Flacade- let's explore!", Replied Haze. ((Because you keep calling my character Hazel, your character is now Flacade. REVENGE IS SWEET.))
(P Fair enough. I have yet to come up with a reason on how I missed her name this entire time...Need my eyes checked again...) Facade smiled and nodded walked through the carriages. As he expected there were no ponies on the train due to the infection but the carriages still looked quite well kept. As he passed through the third carriages they had walked through he hopped into the next and stopped. A array of aroma's hit his nostrils at once and his eyes took in what was producing such an enticing aroma. The room was the Buffet Carriages with a few tables scattered about but what he focused on was the food. He originally thought that most foods would be similar to cookies but as he looked and smelled at the multitudes of different foods he realized he was terrible wrong. Most of it seem to contain some kind yellow, thin, line. He curiously picked it up a few strays out of the plate and chewed on them slowly. His eyes lightened up and he turned to Haze with delight. "You must come try...everything! I bet it's all delicious!" He exclaimed in happiness before digging into anything he thought looked good.
"You must come try... Everything! I bet it's all delicious!" Haze heard Faclade shouting her from the next room. She replied "What've ya fou-" Haze opened the door to find Flacade in a room full of... Things. He was eating them quite fast, clearly enjoying himself. "What is... all this?" Haze picked up a piece of fluffy crumbly food with some red and crème stuff inside, and ate it. It was quite sweet, spongy and quite light on the tongue. She took a look at a label on the cake, which read 'VICTORIAN SPONGE CAKE'. "... You're right!" she responded. "Facadel, this stuff is fantastic!"
Shield eventually grew bored of scribbling on the window. He wandered off to find something else to do. He opened a door to find Haze and Facade stuffing what he could safely assume to be food into their mouths. He blinked. He wasn't particularly hungry, but he walked over to the table anyways. "Eh...so, is that stuff good?" he inquired, though he thought it might be difficult for them to answer in their current state – that is, with their mouths full of... "Victorian Sponge Cake", as the label read.
"Oh, hi... Err... Was it shield? This stuff is fantastic!" Haze said, with a grin on her face. She took another few bites. A couple of cakes later, she found herself lying on the ground, holding her stomach. She felt all bubbly and unable to eat any more. She led there, on the ground, groaning... "I think I ate too much stuff" Haze said, rubbing her tummy. "I... I just can't eat any more..." Although it felt quite sickly, it also felt quite good being so full of food. She dragged herself onto a seat, and sat there, still rubbing her stomach.
"Are you okay?" Shield walked slowly over to the incapacitated pegasus, who was making loud groaning noises. Shield took this as a bad sign, as this was what he would do if he were in pain. He nudged her shoulder with his hoof. "What's wrong?"
Cherry continued drawing various food items on the window until she heard a moaning coming from the next car over. That's not a good sound. I just know it. She walked over to the buffet car to find a pair of colts and Haze, who seeemd to be seated and rubbing her belly. "What happened?" Cherry asked.
"I ate... The things... To many of the things... " Haze sat back and smiled. "Nah, I'm okay... Don't worry about me, I just have an achy tummy right now... Just need a sit down for a second... "Hey, you should try the cake!"
