    If this was a popularity contest (Which it isn't, and should never be,) I'm pretty sure I can name 10 people off of the top of my head that are the... eh, Quote-And-Quote "Most Reputable" members here.
    I wouldn't miss the Rep System if it was removed.
    I'd miss my 16 x 24 pixel gems, but I'd much rather have something that proves that we're unique.
    Again, Custom Titles seem really good to me.
    The Choices... they exceed my comprehension.

    @DRD: I'm sure that you're the one that's been trollin' da rep. *Cough* You gave me my first green gem via Rep-Trolling anyways.
    I don't agree that post counts should be hidden, but I do think that a higher limit of characters typed would be much more efficient at stopping one-liners.

    In any case,
    The rep system is what we have right now.
    Giving people rep is a way that
    I show my appreciation or approval of a post.
    The only problem I'm seeing though is - in my mind -
    It loses its meaningfulness once the user has a red gem.

    No, it really doesn't,
    mainly because you can leave messages behind
    stating why you agreed with that post,
    instead of taking up forum space
    I'm talking like you now

    @Saikyo

    Now that I think of it,
    Raising the min character cutoff per post might be a bad idea.
    Forum games and all.

    No one wants to see:

    I'm thinking more like
    A 50-75 character limit
    Because nopony is going to repeat
    /5char
    approximately 8-14 times.

    Ten times. Count em.

    In any case, raising the character limit will do little to raise the meaningfulness of posts, because a 3 letter sentence often speaks more than an entire essay.

    The custom titles idea, however, isn't a bad one.

    (hint, if you want it, make a separate thread)

    The only problem I'm seeing with that
    Is that we'll need a new system implemented
    For distinguishing mods from normal members.

    I tired coming up with ideas for how to do custom titles.

    All of them would be abused.

    Of well maybe just add more member titles. Like mega member. ROFL

    Then 7000 for ultra member.

    See, something like this could work.

    Maybe. But mega/ultra sound a bit silly, IMO.

    If this is implemented later on, I would suggest that anyone (Like you, for example.) with 5,000 or more posts has the title "Loyal Member." As for members with 7,000 posts... well... maybe "Royal Member," or something along the lines of that. I'll actually be amazed if someone eventually has a post count of over 7,000.

    Now, back on-topic.

    Ok, guys, these gems have been made by me, and i'd like to point out:

    Smallest amount of rep: purple gems
    A little bit more: Green
    Medium gems: Red
    A bit bigger: Blue (I think) or those pearls, i don't know
    Large gems: Rainbow-like.

    This was a long time ago, so i don't remember all of them in order how they looked like and what colors they had. I know that the rainbow one takes 9000 rep points (Unless it was changed), the blue one 150, the rest i don't know.

    -> 6 Purple (Worth 5 points each, 5x6 = 30)
    -> 4 Green (Worth 10 points each, 4x10 = 40) Total = (40+30 = 70)
    -> 3 Red (Worth 50 points each, 3x50 = 150) Total = (150 + 70 = 220 )

    Everytime you complete the above, you get a 'star gem' - I forget what they were... rainbow/pearly things like Jaret said.
    Think of it like that COD game, you get an extra star each time you complete the above and after 2 stars you get the next type of stars (3 types of stars I think..)
    So you'd go from 2 pearls to one rainbow or something ridiculous..

    It probably sounds (and it is) rather complicated, I scarcely understand it myself and when other matters aren't quite so pressing I'll be happy to take suggestions on changing the system around.

    It was actually supposed to be like "You get 6 purples, then they get changed into 1 green. You get 4 greens, they get changed into 1 red etc.". As Grey stated, the system itself is quite hard to understand and rather complicated. I do suggest, though, that we at least either raise the amount of what each rep is worth. It's getting tight up there... Also, is it me or does that red make the row of gems seem... strange?
