"Last reported sighting was between Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. Knight commands a small army and also an extremely dangerous individual, every nine out of ten people will either abandon this bounty entirely or refuse to take it. He's an S ranked criminal, so you best bring your A-game." Sheriff White reported. "He likely knows about the bounty on his head now and he is going to do everything in his power to leave Arizona, likely taking the Maglev express once he escapes into California and could either head to Canada or Mexico, although it's likely he'll be heading to the Slave plantations in the South due to him having plenty of...acquaintances there. And if that happens, he's going to be very difficult to find yet alone reach." Moses then entered the Sheriff's office in full armour as he looked around the building, before looking at the Sheriff as he spoke through a microphone connected inside of the helmet. "I'll take the Bounty" was all he said. Sheriff White, although very intimidated that a Ranger was in town quickly accepted.
It was to satisfy an urge to kill. The massive man cared not for money, but he had heard about the wanted man, and he though, perhaps, he could use someone difficult to kill. And perhaps, along the way, he could hunt those who went after the same person. Death was an old friend to him, and his blood-lust would not be satisfied until the end. Yet the pleasure was to much for him not too live. It was time to hunt... The heat of Arizona did not seem to effect him, and though he was inside truly suffering under the heat of weather and thick clothes, he still wore his style. Here, he wore a long, ankle-length leather coat over rugged work-pants and a black military shirt. He donned thick and heavy rubber boots and similarly built gloves, made for stalking prey when hunting. Over the shirt was a combat vest, the tube from the hydration pack seeping into the most unique feature of this man: Underneath the worn, black leather stetson with a wide brim and a flat top, was an old, dark coloured gas-mask, with shaded lenses and the skin covered by a layer of black fabric. A large backpack was set upon him, a crossbow on the side, the arms collapsed, and a long-barreled rifle equipped with a silencer and a large scope on the opposite side of the backpack. After overhearing things, it was not too long before he made his way over to the saloon, and sat in a dark corner waiting for the night, plenty of suspicious, questioning, and fearful looks passing him by...
Sheriff White tried to get something out of his mouth other then a stutter before Moses nodded before deciding to walk out. "Thank you for your assistance Sheriff, I'll be on my way." The Bounty Hunter responded before heading outside of the saloon and getting on his jet black chopper. He had been in the bounty game long enough to get leads on people with minimal information. Flagstaff seemed like the best bet, the entire city had been abandoned since the Collapse after it was overtaken by wildlife. It seemed like a good hiding spot for Knight before he would escape into California, so timing was critical. If he got the jump on him, then he could very well take the bounty within a few hours. As soon as he was on his chopper, he turned the HUD on his display off and he sped away across the empty highways.
As Moses left, Luna said to the sheriff "Don't expect him back with the knight. I'm gonna get him down before that hulk even meets him." She rushed out, just in time to see the man get on a motorcycle. "Was hoping he'd be walking..." He took off before she could think of anything to stop him, or catch up with him. "That man clearly had a good idea where Knight is if he left that quickly... Ok, Flagstaff is here-" She held up her hand like she was pointing to an invisible map "and the grand canyon is here..." she held up her other hand to another location on the invisible map. "Then knight has to be... damn. I have no idea what this place looks like. I don't even remember where Flagstaff is." She started in the direction the man had taken off. "Guess I'll take the train there, and see if Knight just decided to hang there." (I'm assuming there's no train to Flagstaff given Moses' description, but she doesn't know that)
Moses was on his way to begin a 50 mile trip to Flagstaff. Flagstaff barely grew in size during the golden era before the Collapse, but has been abandoned since then when the entire population of the town was wiped out during the Collapse. Over time, the area around Flagstaff grew into a sizeable forest and most of the town was overgrown with greenery and wildlife. It hasn't been touched in four hundred years, so why should it be touched now. In a way, it was the perfect hideout and fortress. Easily defensible, although the forest around the area also acted as camouflage and could be heavily exploited if desired. Although Flagstaff has a train line, no train has been on the line for centuries. Moses sped across the empty highways alone on his chopper, looking forward to claiming this bounty. He would assume a man such as Knight easily had some heavy firepower, alongside quite a large amount of followers. This was going to be difficult, on the verge of being a suicide mission. Of course, it was missions like these that Vanstone was the best at. He swore he seen a figure standing on a hill in a light brown duster and matching cowboy hat, long silver hair and beard going down his face. The next time he blinked, the man vanished. A strange occurrence, but he felt like that his mind was playing tricks on him. Unless he was being watched, but he couldn't have been. At the speed he was travelling, it would have been impossible to vanish from plain sight like that. (Mystery character inbound!)
Spoiler: Could it possibly be? Dark walks out of the Sheriff's office, looking around. "Might as well start..." he says, starting to walk to the highway.
(Nope ) Vincent Knight and his goons patrolled the overgrowth at Flagstaff, passing old ruins of abandoned cars and shops where plenty of humans once lived. Centuries ago, more people lived in this city than Angel City or Tower Bay. Sometimes, this fact alone was enough to surprise people. While on the Main Street, one of his goons handed over a bounty to him. It was his, and the total reward prize of 50 million was enough for anybody decent enough with a gun or stupid enough to seek out their own death come after him. "So...they really must be desperate for them to even consider this." Knight said, with a deep baritone voice and charisma to sway even the most charismatic of individuals. Knight had gelled black hair and a goatee with hazel eyes. He was of average height and physique wasn't anything special. Like the poster said, he was heavily tattooed on his back and arms with images of royalty like his title. However, his skills with a gun and intel events is enough to make him America's most wanted. He threw the poster away as he headed towards a building somewhere in town, while security was already extremely tight. Who knew what Knight was doing, but it wasn't for the betterment of mankind
Adrian saw him too. The giant man had been traveling with the unaware man known as Moses, as he had decided it would be best to track down the given prey that the sheriff had talked about. The large hunting boots made specifically for stalking prey were being put to good use. But the sight of the bearded man, which the other sizable man apparently saw, made him wonder. He looked quite familiar to his eyes, but he had seen so much in his life that even with photographic memory, it could have been anyone. Time flies by, though to the large man, a seconds passed by in a year, and a year passed by in a second. He did not know what to think of it yet. It was not only the fact that the other man seemed to know where to go, but it was also the fact that merely by looking at him, it seemed to Adrian that were it necessary, the one called Moses could prove to be a good ally to have. In fact, it seemed he saw a bit of himself in the other man. Wolves sometimes travel alone, but others always find them. The comrade wolves are always instinctive of each other. It was his uncle, Dmitri, who had told him these words. And it felt that this was one of those cases. But first, he would observe, and only observe, as the hunter does...
Moses stopped somewhere just outside of Flagstaff and parked himself at the highest vantage point he could find, hiding his Chopper away from the sight of the large contingent of Knight's men. He was miles away from where Knight was, but he was hidden well enough to be very difficult to find. From what he could tell, there could be as much as a hundred to a hundred and fifty men under Knight's disposal. Maybe more, but it was currently what Moses could see through the HUD on his helmet. A rare piece of Pre-Collapse history that has survived throughout the centuries was the armor of the Desert Rangers, a large organization dedicated to making the world better being located at Primm on the border of California and Nevada. His family and upbringing as a Ranger made him fortunate enough for a proud history as a warrior and Bounty Hunter. And now, here he was. On his final bounty before retirement, the mother of all bounties. Death was not an option, failure was not an option. A victory today would have made him a legend, and with the reward money, he could have turned the Rangers into the most respectable peacekeepers in North America. (Going to allow you guys to catch up)
A heavy thud came from behind Moses. The giant man had set his heavy cumber down on the ground, and was now digging into the bag. He pulled out what appeared to be a burner and a pan, as well as some meat placed in a thick plastic bag. Sitting down crossed-legged, he turned a small wheel on the burner, took out a wooden match, and after striking it on the ground, put it to the burner. The blue fire was soothing to look at, and the large male put the match close to his mask whilst looking at Moses, and after an sharp exhale, the small flame disappeared, revealing charred remains. He tossed the burnt stick onto the ground, and then set a metal pan, hanging from a bar with metal legs surrounding the burner. He opened the bag, and placed two slabs of meat on the grill, sweet and savory smoke rising up into the cold, windy air...
Moses looked at the man behind him making himself a meal, but decided to continue surveying the landscape. He did expect company, especially of a bounty of this size attracting Bounty Hunters like flies. It's unfortunate that plenty Bounty Hunters across America were severely under equipped or lack training. Moses took out his Lever Action Rifle, as if he knew the presence of the giant behind him this entire time, and placed himself on his stomach as he looked through the scope for a long time before putting his rifle away. Then, while the giant behind him was busy, the Bounty Hunter drew himself a crude map of Flagstaff on the dirt. He would have to wait until tomorrow to make an attack plan, he wasn't going to cause some trouble by going in guns blazing. He needed to think about what was going to happen with this plan. He had to wait, much to anybody's displeasure.
The giant outstretched a hand, as if telling the other man that the other slab of meat was for him. Hunger was nothing to trifle with in a world like this, and it was important to eat when possible. Moses was turned, but he was sure the other man would get the gesture. He also had took out a sketch of a man... the man. It was a very detailed sketch, and he was about to show it to the other man. Survival of the fittest, it was not necessarily meant for a person to remain alone. He had removed his hood, showing his shaven head with its dark stubble, though his face was ultimately obscured by the gas-mask and the hunting mask...
Luna walked along the tracks which used to head to Flag staff. The ground around them seemed paved, but so ancient it was impossible to be sure. She had been told the train never traveled there, but she would be able to find it, following the tracks. She sighed and closed her eyes as she grew bored. Not looking, she tripped over something close to the ground. She scrambled to her feet and saw a skeleton holding tightly to a metal skateboard, which appeared to have several fractured bones. Whoever it was had clearly fallen alone, and died because they couldn't get help. "Bad for you, lucky for me!" She grabbed the board from the dead-man's hand and placed it on the ground. She jumped onto it to test it's strength, and it didn't even bend. Riding on the board (which clearly had something in it from the futuristic past, making it move significantly easier than an actual skateboard should, to anyone who would know such a thing possible) Luna sped past the tracks. She saw a highway up in the air not too far away. She figured the other bounty hunters went that way and was glad that she'd enter the city somewhere else. It wasn't long before she found herself avoiding trees, struggling to follow the tracks, and barely stopping in time to avoid colliding face-first with the wall of the ancient train-station.
The Sheriff throws a bundle of money, equivalent to a thousand dollars, at Soul. "Just place the head down, no need to make things dirtier."
Jason turned to look at a wanted poster. Just below the $5 million bounty was a wanted poster which had a picture of someone that closely matched Soul's description. "Say, Soul," said Jason, pointing at the wanted poster, "Did she look like that?"
"So, you seen him as well?" Moses responded before sitting next to the man, who he assumed was mute. "I seen him on the highway, just standing there. He was there for a brief second and then he vanished, I just assumed that my mind was playing tricks on me."
