"Yeah, I am." Dark says, glancing at the photos. He gulps, deciding to never get on the giant's bad side.
"A hunter, eh?" Moses replied before studying the photos in more detail. "Your previous hunts would pale in comparison to what is in store. Down there is a proper maniac, and he'll put up quite the fight. But of course, we can't attack right now." Moses said before pointing at the city below. We attack tomorrow, I've already studied the guard patrol movements and what weaponry they carry. Knight is planning to leave the city as well, meaning that if we get a jump on him while he believes that he is safe, he would panic and resistance would be the lightest."
Luna sorted through the photos. "I mean, the subject matter is scary, but I like the balance. If these were artistic they'd be very high quality. Not the first crazed murderer I've met. First one I wasn't hunting though." She tossed the photos gently onto the ground at the giant's feet. "So it's the four of us versus an entire cult? Even in mass chaos, we don't stand as good a chance as it seems. Even if we take out Knight, we still need to get away with our lives."
"He's going to escape tomorrow morning, that's for sure. However, we don't know what form that is going to take place. Knight's men appear to be recent coverts, so that means they will have absolutely no combat training at all. However, it doesn't mean they aren't all crazy and generally insane. They will still try and kill you. If we entered a gunfight, we are going to have a massive advantage. But here is something that you might find interesting..." Moses replied before taking out the picture of the bounty, with Knight's picture directly on it. "After doing some research, it turns out that Knight's little empire is the entire reason that the south isn't killing each other right now. Around twenty years ago, all the territory from Florida to Tennessee was a warzone between large slaver organizations and all sorts of generally nasty people. Knight consolidated power with his death cult at some point and is the leader of his own small empire, which is based out of the ruins of an old place called 'Atlanta'. His brutality and power are so infamous across the South, nobody would dare cross him purely out of fear. His reign of terror is also keeping his slaver allies in line. The big factor in all of this is that Knight's followers follow the man, not his ideals. The moment that Knight dies, his empire is going to collapse very quickly, maybe overnight. Slaves across the south are going to revolt, the slavers across the South are going to murder each other, and for a period of time, things are going to get very scary. If we kill him, we are going to cause a revolution. We are going to change the world, hopefully for the better." (Massive shootout going to occur soon. Time-skip?)
"So... we get money, and change this s***hole? Sounds good to me." (I'm ready for a time skip if one's gonna happen)
Jason was shocked. "A WHAT?!?" he exclaimed. "MOTORCYCLES ARE ALMOST UNHEARD OF SINCE THE COLLAPSE!!! HOW DID YOU FIND ONE?!?"
(Soul) I found one in a scrapyard from the 21st Century, and I used other parts I found there to repair it.
Jason replied, "Well, damn. I don't think my horse could keep up with a motorcycle from the early TWENTIETH century, let alone the TWENTY-FIRST. Can I ride on it with you so I can keep up with you?"
".... So, our plan is to rush him at a weak point, and hopefully kill him... I'm sorry, this... Seems a bit too easy." Dark says.
Jason thought for a moment, then said, "We'll keep him in the town stables for now. Now, are we gonna find this woman or what?"
(And...time-skip) The remainder of the day passed as night came around, no campfires were lit otherwise they would be detected. It wasn't exactly cold during the night either, so none of the hunters froze to death. When morning came however, all of Knight's men were making plenty of noise as they gathered around the train station where....a fully functional Maglev was restored and ready to take off. Maglevs replaced conventional trains across America, and only one of them survived the Collapse. Since the Collapse, trains have reverted back to steam. Although they weren't the fastest models, the Pre-Collapse US government bought the cheapest models that could still transport people at ridiculous speeds. The only surviving Maglev was used to transport people from Angel City to Empire Junction on the other side of the country in less than 8 hours. This was pale in comparison to the Pacifica, the fastest train ever built that could take people from San Francisco to Tokyo in just under two hours. Now that Knight has discovered a working model located inside Flagstaff, this was a potential game changer. "How in the hell...." Moses said to himself, looking through the scope in his rifle.
Luna stood behind Moses, spinning her empty gun on one finger. "Something interesting? Need me to smack around some people?" She looked over his shoulder, but couldn't see what he was looking at.
Moses backed up before looking at Luna. "Knight's managed to get himself a Maglev, I thought there was only one of them left in America." The muscular man in his Ranger armor took a deep breath before sighing. "Turns out that there is another one, and this is bad. If he leaves early and once that train starts to reach top speed, it will be impossible to catch up to him." Moses then stood up and looked at the others. "We need to attack them before they leave."
The giant took hold of his rifle, and tapped on the lens of his mask. He then took out a bullet that was pierced by dog-tags. This was to show that he was an accomplished sniper, and thus could very well take out enemies from afar. The truly deadly part about the man was not the knifes, or the crossbow, or the rifle, but of his ability to lay down traps, including the various traps contained within the large backpack he carried around with him. Fire and gunpowder were no substitute for rope and metal. Bear-traps were his specialty and favorite. The cold steel metal caused such unbearable pain that one couldn't even scream. Of course, he knew this as a fact. Part of his training to become the ultimate predator was that he would have to endure pain whilst trying to survive being hunted as well. It was hunt or be hunted, and there was no mercy. He was nearly killed a great number of times in his life, and strangely enough, it was only out of love. And now the hunt would begin... and it would be good.....
