Silver had very little experience with ships, but he was able to figure out the basic controls. Before long, the Dishonored was at full steam, leaving Ellion far behind.
(Morning guys. I have an idea to get Ven back onto the boat. Long post is long, and quite brutal. I really had to put effort into making this interesting. Oh, and let's just say that this was before the Dishonored was completely gone and was just leaving.) Venquis looked at the Royal Guard with his eyebrow raised. He wore gold armour that completely covered him alongside a menacing mask and carried two royal swords. Venquis got his spell-sword out and stood in a defensive position. The guard, who did not understand just who he was dealing with, rushed towards him screaming a war cry. After a moment, the guard’s sword came down as Venquis simply dodged the attack and knocked a ferocious punch in the guards armour, shattering the chestplate in two. The guard was taken back in shock and pain until Venquis finished him off with a kick to the face that knocked him to the ground. All the empire gave to him was fancy armour with a small paintjob, which was nothing to the almost entire lifetime of combat experience that Venquis had. The Guard tried to get back up before Venquis slammed his hoof onto the guards neck, applying enough pressure to allow him to understand his plea of mercy and to encourage no further attack. “You have exactly ten seconds. Start speaking, why did you attack us?” Venquis ordered. The guard began to speak at a million mile an hour saying that he will not submit. The Ryborian applied more pressure slowly and more painfully. The guard then pointed at the squad of guards and archers until he could not no longer handle the pressure and the moment he stood up, he collapsed again due to a piece of his armour penetrating his heart and died. His companions were on a fast moving boat, and was ready to take some of the trouble of them. Just as he noticed the boat and his companions, hundreds of guards and archers ran and flew to his position and were aiming directly at him. Venquis looked at the archers and the rest of his companions, and began to run toward the boat with his spell-sword, covering the distance of a hoofball field in less than five seconds. The engravings on his sword began to light up as Venquis began to charge it full of his magic as he made his way closer. The archers kept their aim concentrated onto his companions until one of the archers noticed something out of his eye, a pale and young looking Ryborian (Venquis is actually 335 in this, Ryborians live to 4000) was coming towards them. “SHOOT THE RYBORIAN, HE IS A LIVING EMBODYMENT OF DEATH!!!” said the second in command. Equestrians, especially after the Black War’s end have been horrified of a Ryborians combat ability. An old saying went that a single Ryborian was worth more than a thousand men. Venquis however was worth more than a million men. Before they could all turn around, Venquis channelled some of his energy into his hoof and slammed it into the ground, causing all of the guards to levitate helplessly into the air. They all fired by accident, with all but three of their bolts hitting the water. Venquis then did jumped into the air as a large, greenish-tint void surrounds the guards and himself. Inside of the void, the colours of the environment, the guards become inverted with a negative-like effect while Venquis was completely covered in a brilliant white. Not only did a real time moment happen outside of the void, but the spell caused time to completely stop inside the void. Once the spell was cast and was working efficiently, Venquis moved faster than the speed of sound inside the void as he carved his way through hundreds upon hundreds of opponents. Once done, Venquis then landed back onto the ground bellow as the void then disappeared. The moment it disappeared, the bodies above him just exploded in a red rain of blood as time returned again. The guards, ceased to exist. The spell might have cost enormous amounts of energy to use and put a large strain on his body, but it was the strongest spell he could use with his spell-sword. The longer he used it, the more it drained his energy. Venquis, noticing the shock and awe at his companion’s faces put his sword away and casually jumped onto the ship like nothing had happened and sat down on a bench just outside of the captains quarters. He had left nothing behind except his tavern which was under good hooves and a really large and messy graveyard of guards.
(Wow. That was a big post. It's a shame it never happened.) Obsidian looked out to the sea. "So much unexplored. So much to find. What creatures inhabit distant lands. Are they like our kind? Do they breathe fire like dragons, or fly like gryphons?" He mumbled the rest of the zebra saying. He looked over the side, down at the water below and smiled peacefully as he saw down the surprisingly clear waters. He noticed something odd moving, but he had never been an expert when it came to marine life. He shrugged it off and turned back towards the boat's middle.
(Yeah. It would have been amazing.) Venquis has always never liked traveling by boat. He always preferred his travels involving land, he could never stand all of the rocking that it did. As he turned around to notice his companions and friends, his face turned green again as he turned and aimed directly at the water again. He liked the water being so clear, but it was a shame it was now contaminated with his breakfast going all over the place. "I hate boats... I hate them so much...." he said quietly to himself. He then looked around again before he started another vomit fit.
"So what are you honing to teach me first? Oh, & I never quite got your name... I'd be best I know it if you're going to teach me..."
(Crimson's last post is too good to throw away.) As the Dishonored sailed out of Ellion territorial waters, an enemy battleship appeared. Silver moved the Dishonored close enough to the enemy ship for Venquis to jump aboard. (And then, Crimson's post happened.) With the battleship's crew dead, the team continued towards Equestria.
Star Shimmer led Yclept to a cabin below deck. She inspected the area, and deciding that it was good enough, she dropped her equipment on the floor, including her journal, which she opened to a particular page. She laid one of her graphite rods inside the book, then turned to face the unicorn. Her demeanor took on a more serious tone, almost as if she were a teacher before Sombra's reign. "One question at a time, please. First of all, I'm going to teach you Ritual Magic. Incantations and such. Secondly, my name is Star Shimmer. I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself to you before..." She took her graphite rod in her mouth, and drew a small star on the floor of the cabin, much like the star that she drew on the gangplank at the docks. After laying the rod down nearby, she spoke again. "Crystal Ponies can't cast spells the way unicorns can, but we're magical beings. Some of us have found ways around not having unicorn magic. I use incantations." At this, she glanced downward at the star she drew and said the following phrase: "Kfenkaj Cambonna Nnameh." At this, a small, purple flame ignited within the star. She swiped her hoof over it, and beckoned Yclept forward. "You can touch it. It won't hurt you." Then, she added, "If you're going to be my student, I should know your name, too."
"I'm broke...", Yclept replied, putting his hoof in the flame (don't think he's lying, his real name is broken)
Silver Crescent took a walk around the ship, checking rooms for hidden Equestrian stowaways, and taking inventory of the ship's supplies. In a storage room near in the galley, Silver found the ship's cook. Silver had no desire to fight an unarmed pony, and attempted to calm him down. Insane with fear, the cook picked up a large knife and charged. Sighing, Silver knocked the pony unconsious with a well-placed blow to the head. After locking the cook in a pantry closet, Silver continued exploring the ship. In a small room, he found Star Shimmer and Yclept practicing magic. He was very interested in Star Shimmer's incantations. "Forgive me for interrupting, miss, but your spells... is that Zebra magic?"
Yclept would've noticed as he put his hoof over the flame, that it was in fact cool to the touch. Star nodded at Yclept. "Broke? In my home, being given a name like that would be a terrible omen..." She waved her hoof over the flame again, and it disappeared. She was about to recite a different incantation when she noticed Silver walk into the room. At his question, Star shook her head and replied, "No, this isn't zebra magic, although I have read about it in books. The Crystal Empire's library has many, many books on the subject of magic." She glaced around, wondering if Luna was nearby. What she was about to say may cast her in an...unfavorable...light with the Princess. Satisfied that she couldn't see her, she lowered her voice to almost a whisper. "They call the magic I specialize in...'Dread Magic'. I don't know why. What I do know, is that I had to practice it in a secret place while I lived in the Crystal Empire."
Yclept chuckled,"a terrible omen... Just call me parson then...", he said chuckling again, almost ignoring silver
Silver noticed Star Shimmer's apprehension. "You need not worry. The Night Princess is asleep upstairs. Today's events have exhausted her." He thought carefully about what the Crystal Pony had said. "Dread magic? I have heard of many things fitting that description. King Sombra, Queen Chrysalis, Lord Discord... even Nightmare Moon... all used powerful forbidden magic."
Venquis stayed on the top side of the boat. His companions would not like him throwing up every five minutes. He did know that Silver,Star and Ycept were downstairs exploring and possibly practicing their abilities. If he did go down there, he would need a bucket. Something about his physiology absolutely hated the rocking motion that a boat has. The only way he can remain a calm stomach is if the water is clear or if he is asleep. So, he decided not to walk into the bottom part of the boat until later when the water has calmed down. Princess Luna then came over and the two began to speak to each other, discussing Venquis's involvement in the Black War and learning about each other. After a short time span, the two of them seemed to get along really well with each other, thus creating a new friendship.
"Parson is a much better name than Broken," Star remarked. She positively flinched at the mention of Sombra's name. "Yeah..." She chuckled nervously. "S-Sombra..." She suddenly wiped the graphite star off of the floor with her hoof, and gathered up her journal. "So," she quipped, "It's getting kind of stuffy down here. I...I need some air..." With that, she quickly galloped to the deck, and directly to the stern of the ship. Once there, she heaved a sigh, and looked out over the ocean.
Yclept called out to her,"I'll just be waiting in here!", & found a bench to sit on, his forelegs behind his head & his eyes shut
Silver quickly realized how badly he had put his hoof in his mouth. Comparing her to Sombra... it had been a foalish thing to say. He made a mental note to apologise to to Star Shimmer.
(Haha, nice reason for editing...) Yclept fell asleep after a while from the swaying of the boat, now laying on his side, & lightly snoring
Obsidian walked over to Star and looked out to sea next to her. "Good to have company up here. I sense something happen below? Wish to speak about?" Obsidian glanced back out to the water in time to see a dolphin and he smiled brightly. "What wonderful creature."
Silver headed topside, and found a miserable looking Venquis dry-heaving over the rail. "You empty yet? I have something that will help." He dug through his saddlebag, and pulled out a small bag of herbs, and a battered looking mortar and pestle. He selected a few ingredients, and began mixing. "I learned this mixture from a Zebra enchantress many years ago. We need you fit to fight, and that certainly isn't going to happen with you unable to keep your meals down." Silver finished mixing, and poured the vile looking potion into a small flask. He tossed the flask to Venquis. "It tastes terrible, but it should help with the nausea."
