Peachy gave the usual eegh face when Viola mentioned turning a violist into a husk. "Well... uhm... accidents happen?" She smiles, a little more nervously than before, but takes a deep breath and nods. "So, yes. I'm excited to learn what's on this new world. Maybe there are alien organisms!" Then she tilts her head and gets a thinking about something sort of face, staring at Viola. "Hmm..." Rifter does notice something odd on his way to the mess halls. Looks like one of the other changelings is trying to get sweet on one of the pegasai who obviously don't want any of it. While it hasn't gotten to an escalated point yet, it's always nice to remind some ponies (or otherwise) of their place. "C'mon babe. No celebratory cuddles for a successful jump?" "Buzz off! You're bugging me!" The changeling floats around in front of her and chuckles. "Oooh~ I never heard that before. You should know, I can increase the feelings you get by two-fold~!" She tried to fly around him, but he gets in her way. "Out of my way, cockroach." "You know, I'm required to go through the halls like this... but I can take any shape you want." Digi and Gear Burn were neatly sat at the same table. The few techs that weren't in the engine room during the jump got a quick over-view of what happened with the rushing back and forth. Metal Head tells a tale about how unfortunate he was to be fixing some reportedly broken switches in one of the weapon chambers during the jump. He got more than a space jump, that's for sure. Now he's gone from a short and easy to manage mane to a frazzled-looking mohawk. Most techs agree that it better fits his personality anyway. The blue draft next to Kazual, (a little slower on the uptake,) stood with his mouth just hanging open. How could anypony talk so much? He wondered... but then, he probably was not as exposed to teenaged girls as recently. "Uhh..." His brain actually had to take a moment to catch up, and his eyes appeared mesmarized by the suckling of the fish. Suddenly he shook his head a little and snapped out of it. "Well, suppose he's a dragon... you're a dragon. Bound to meet at some point. I'm sure with your female wiles you could learn a lot about him. Also, here's hoping he's the hottie you're looking for." Intrude, deep in her thoughts, accidentally bumps into a nearly black stallion pony with a bulky frame who's wearing a protective jacket. He looks over at her and flashes a light grin. "Excuse me. Not moving fast enough, am I?"
"defiantly suits you metal, well I don't think I can beat that tale.all I was doing before the jump was the engines were going haywire and I was working on some crystal stabilisers and that's it nothing special. At least my moustache is safe". Gear burn said in a joking manner and continued eating his hay steak. "this is nice way better than the food served at the facility where I made those engines. I also have created a name for the planet grif*squee!*onia a combonation of the words griffon, dragon and equestria. I already put it in the idea box so what do people think". He said with a smile and a hay chip in the corner of his mouth.
Kazaul smiled in a wide, toothy grin. "Like, thanks! You're, like, totally right though. I should learn more about him, so we can, like, talk about the same kind of stuff, and stuff." She then wrapped her serpintine tongue around the fish and swallowed it whole. Suddenly remembering that she actually had a job to do, she stood up and waved to the draft pony. "You're, like, way cool. It was really nice meeting you! She then left the mess hall and tried to find her way to where the scouting missions were being organized.
Intrude started. "Oh, I'm sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." She rapped her forehead lightly.
Rifter stopped when he saw the Changeling seemingly harrasing the Pegasus. "Is there a problem here?" He said, walking up towards the Changeling and the Pegasus.
Viola frowned in concentration. Alien organisms, but wouldn't this intrusion make us the aliens? Viola wandered to the window where the big planet was visible. The huge thing seemed both calming and frighting, like the whiff of a new adventure. Only the scouts would be adventuring. Viola glanced to her right and saw the pony staring at her. Her eye twitched in annoyance. She can't be seriously studying me, Viola thought. "I'm sorry, is something wrong? She asked nonchalantly.
"Wait. Suggestion box? Sweet! I just gotta put a suggestion in. What ya think of Mysteria? Or goron? Or Hidrazia? Or Zenthax? This is gonna be so much fun naming the planet! I wonder what new life is there? Are there ponies and dragon and gryphons, and even, dare I say it, changelings?"
Peachy shook her head lightly in response to Viola. "No, and excuse me if this sounds ignorant, but... do you think alien organisms would be able to sedate the needs of your kind?" The afro-haired colt rolled his eyes and continued down the hallway without her. As Rifter came up, the changeling scowled and pointed a hoof at him. "Come on, this ain't got anything to do with you." The pegasus interjected. "Security, this creature won't take a hint and leave." The word security hit the changeling, and he froze, as Rifter could tell his eyes went focused on the uniform. Metal Head chuckled at Gear along with a few of the other techs, then pointed a hoof at Digi. "Yeah, I bet it's a whole new world of other kinds of ponies! After all, the possibility of us being alone in this world is crazy!" As Kazaul came off the elevator and rounded the corner into the hallway she almost bowled into a red pegasus who gets this sudden look of oh hey! "Hey! You're Kaz, right? I was just sent to come get you for Briefing Room 1! I'll see you there in a bit, right? I gotta go round up the other scouts and security for this." The black stallion smiled to Intrude off-handedly. "No problem. After the jump, lots of ponies got their heads in the clouds." He got quite the plate of food before moving down. "Name's Iron Mace, but you can just call me Mace... Security Class."
Kazaul grinned wide at the pegasus, "Like, chya I'm Kaz! I go by Kazzie, too! Briefing Room 1? Totally got it! I'll, like, see ya there!" As she dashed off toward Briefing Room 1, she couldn't help thinking that this was, like, going to be the coolest thing she'd ever done.
Rifter nodded. "Is that so?" He turns to the Changeling. "I am afraid I am going to have to ask you to leave this Pegasus alone. Find something to do like maybe... Your job."
"Ya! I can't wait!" He looked at his plate as realization dawned "Darn it!" He almost yelled. "I won't be going down to the planet! I'll be cooped up here!" he scowled, taking an angry bite out of his salad.
Kazaul found her way to Briefing Room 1 easily enough. She hopped down into a seat right beside a unicorn who seemed to already be in conversation with somepony. "Uhm, excuse me, but do you know what the purpose of this meeting is?" Kaz, being polite and helpful blurted out, "We're, like, going to be given deets on the new planet, doi. Like, do we have to, like, wear space suits or can we go like this?" In a moment of complete lucidity that comes from being raised in a laboratory, she explained further, "Like, we haveta know if the air is breathable and, like, what if any hostile entities we might, like encounter and stuff."
Iron Mace grins and nods to Intrude. "Is that so?" Just as he's about to move down the line, a pegasus from near the entry way shouts over the din of the mess hall. "ATTENTION! I am looking for one more of the scouts to meet in Briefing Room 1! I am looking for an... Intrude. Is she in here?!" The pegasai almost drops down after shouting, but stumbles to keep bearings, talking quieter, now that everypony shushed for her. "I'm also looking for security officers Rifter and Hatchet. Are either of them here?" A black feathered griffon stretched his wings out near the middle of the mess hall. He approached the red pegasus and sniffed. "Right then. I'm on my way." Metal Head's ears went back at the shouting, but they slowly went back and he licked at the piercing in his lip. "Well, sounds like the first group's gettin' together. Hey, if y'wanna go so badly, maybe you could ask the mission commander there in the briefing room, Digi." Back in the hall... The changeling scoffed, "Hey... being so far away from land makes me a little desperate." He eyes her closely for a moment, then turns, starting to trot off. "Some other time." She sighs heavily, and looks at Rifter. "Thanks a lot." Briefing Room 1... A blue stallion wearing a white mantle cape stood at the other side of the room, looking at his screen. "Five more minutes, then we'll start the meeting without the others. Only waiting on four more." He looks around the room. A dragon, a unicorn, an earth pony. "As the first of six groups to fly down to investigate the surface of this world, I hope the rest of you are as excited as I am."
"sure, we may not be able to go on the planet but without us they wouldn't be going down to the planet. Without us techies either the ship would still be on equestrian soil or would of blown up during the space-warp". Gear got up with his empty tray. "if any of you need me I'll be in my room, grooming my moustache and beard and probably testing out my personal computer, finalising some reports on the engines that need to be sent to the commanding engineer". Steel placed his tray back on the rack and set off. When he arrived at his room he swiped his I.D card on the wall and he stepped inside booting up the computer and typed up the last paragraph of the 5 page report, signed it, attached it to an email and sent it to the commanding engineer. He then went in his on suite shower, washed and groomed his moustache and beard before putting his engine room coat back on and headed back to the engines.
Intrude looked at Mace. "Better go. See you later." She pranced over to the door and disappeared towards the Briefing Room.
"The power... to repress the requirement to feed?" Viola looked back out the window and stared at the planet. What the unicorn said seemed possible, but... "Not likely." Viola said, turning away from the window. "Such a notion seems interesting, but you can't even be sure this planet has changelings on it in the first place. Why would they find a way to repress something that doesn't even affect them?" Viola stared Peachy right in the eyes, her own eyes glinting. "Ah, but that is what is going to make this planet so interesting! They have things we don't, things we perhaps couldn't even dream of! What untold stories lie upon this new planet, what could we find? Who could we meet? What could we know!?"
Silver jumped a little and turned around to find a dragon behind him. "We're, like, going to be given deets on the new planet, doi. Like, do we have to, like, wear space suits or can we go like this? Like, we haveta know if the air is breathable and, like, what if any hostile entities we might, like encounter and stuff." Silver blinked. "Well, um, I really only needed the part about exploring the new planet, but thanks..." He was a bit overwhelmed by the way she talked; her odd slang and teenager-isms didn't seem to fit the vocabulary she was using, but then, just because you talk weird doesn't mean you can't know anything. He turned his attention to the blue pony and listened to what he had to say, then nodded in agreement. His face, however, betrayed no trace of the excitement he felt. In fact, it really had not shown much emotion at all that anyone had seen so far.
