How come i never see this thread before? Oh well...Here are my ups and down to what i think of Bronyism or Bronydom

    Ups~~~

First of all, I never met a community of citizens who share utter most kindness of people. This Community has given me so much confidences to be more open and out going then ever before. Sure, I am the wild one in my group of friends but after telling them that I was a brony, they care much for it. Nice to know that my Very first friend I ever had during we were fillies are selfs is a brony just blew my mind away when i found out from him. This Community has given me to be less careless what other think negative about me liking this and show me that i should let others pin point my down for a show and go on being myself as I please. Given huges amounts of inspiration of creativity of Artwork i dish out and makes me want to be more of a Animator as in so much that I'm taking the liberty to get the devices that the professionals are using. The community has some of thoses with great talents and always nice to see what they have for us to see and for us to to take pleasure of either, seeing, listening, or watching a fan-made parody. I always thought that all people of this world were nothing but cruel humans that only care for themselves and their was no offering on what humans can provide for this world but destroying it. Then this Community came around and This was the best choice I made that i will never forget or leave. I made the right choice and I'm stay and will be a brony...forever. Till the day I die, I'll will always be a Brony.

    Downs~~~

Trolls = Haters - I dislike to see trolls but as far has the show has grown and that bronyism or bronydom has evolved, Trolls have no power to troll the brony community.

and lastly, Acceptance and understanding of watching the show and being a brony, in general. I'm not a shamed of watching this show or being one but what i hear from other bronies and their sides of the story is hard to read for their suffer that just for watching this show has put a damper on their lives for some are having even more difficult lives.

I'm going to be honest with everpony here that yes, for two decades, it is clear for like 20 years or so, this show was put on for girls and a man to watch this back then was unheard of it audience target, in begin with. 20 years have past and the formula for some people to say this show is for little girl is still put on paper in writing that a man shouldn't watch a show like this. Okay, let me wrap things up with a different answer so this can be solved once and for all.

    Well side, Doug Walker.

Don't let any other person tell other wise that this show is gay or is for little girls and whatnot. The show has so much going for that it latterly can be for anypony, either it be Male or Female. All Ages and Genders are welcome to enjoy the magic of friendship that this show holds for everyone.

Ups: It literally changed my life. Its infiltrated my music, clothes, spare time, internet usage, even my video games. Its made me an infinitely happier person, and it pulled me out of a depression that i dont think i would have made it out of without the show. It has taught me love and tolerate a little more (though i still have much to learn), and it has made it so that i dont care at all what others think about me. The community has become almost like another group of friends and family to me, and its caused me to become massively closer to two of my real life friends who i recruited into the fandom.

Downs: The moments of doubt, those moments when you realize that you're enjoying something that someone of your age and gender should never like, can be really painful. Ponies has become just another way that I'm different from most of the rest of the world, and sometimes that makes life a little lonely. I still haven't found a brony who i haven't recruited, one who's just as obsessed with the show as i am, so i never really have anyone to talk to in real life. Also, my love for the show has caused me to start disliking someone who used to be a really good friend. He chose weed, i chose ponies, and we both resent the choice the other made. And then finally theres the abuse. I fortunately haven't gotten that much, only from a few select people, but after the Southpark episode i expect to get massacred. It should be interesting

All in all though, the positives way outweigh the negatives. I love this show and the community so much, I'll never leave it

-A few of my friends are bronies so it's a common interest
-Bronies are generally friendly and great to talk to
-The music produced by this fandom is amazing, much better than most chart music
-There is plenty of humourous pony-related stuff on the internet, most of which I understand
-I get to watch a great show with morals that will help me in my day to day life
-It gives me something to look forward to every Saturday
-I have something to do in my spare time (ponies)

    Downs
-Trolls (not a huge problem as most troll absolutely fail at trolling bronies)
-The small handful of bronies who take things too far (the derpy incident, for example)

As you can see the ups outweigh the downs. I'm probably not going to leave the herd easily.

Up side: Trolls. I like them. They try so hard...

Down side: Raving fanatic bronies. In my eyes, there are very many of these, more than the trolls even.

And this I wish long life to this herd, since it brings me all these targets.

I think it's the grand investment of interest gives the fandom a unique, embracing, almost romanticized feel to it and that's what causes a lot of quick devotion. It's indeed become fascinating, but people shouldn't forget that it's one of many interests.

    The pros:

    1.) The show itself, obviously.
2.) The community (including the artistic wing).
3.) The new outlook I have on life (more positive, more kind and less cynical).

    The cons:

    1.) The haters.
2.) The feeling that I have to be careful with whom I "come out" to.
3.) The fear that it will become too trendy and start to stray from the heart of the fandom.
4.) Perhaps paradoxically, the fear that eventually many fans will lose interest and the brony community will dwindle and someday die out.

But even with those cons, it's soooo worth it. The first con I can shrug off pretty easily most of the time. The latter two, I hope, will be unlikely. The only one that is consistently a bummer is the second one, and even that one is really just society's fault, for being so rigid in its view of what is "acceptable".

My transformation into a brony was quite volatile. You can read it here: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/...le-pony-friendship-magic-190042/index105.html. I'm Wilddwarf, and it continues to the next page. I thank God that I am no longer the person I was before MLP-FIM. Being a brony is...not something I really make a big deal about. I used to be a closet brony, but now my Dad, Mom, and brother know about it. I don't think anyone else does though. The only real downside is the fear of being discovered and what people will think of me. Other than that, it's been pretty good :D.

Pros: The community is the most open and accepting I have ever been a part of, for which I thank you all. The herd just keeps growing, and it's good to know there are others out there who are like me.
Cons: In my line of work, anything "girly" or not incredibly masculine is looked down on. This means you all are the only people I can confide in. The trolls, certainly, but I can deal with them, I certainly have before! And this show can't last forever, and it's one of the only things I can take joy in anymore. Sooner or later, it will end.
On the plus side, I have a feeling that even when the show does end, the herd will survive. The Internet is a wonderful place, and we all have a kind of home here. And we have each other, and nothing will change that, for me.

    Pros:
It stopped me from committing suicide (the show and the people)
    I met Miggy <3
The show and the community has shown me what true friendship is, and that there really are great people in this world. Not all are dickheads, like the people I have hung out with.

    Cons:
    Being Ridiculed.
