“I think so,” she said comfortably, kissing his sternum. “Find some girl around here and fall in love.”
“I don’t know,” she said playfully, stretching out comfortably next to him. “It’s nice to have a companion besides Ker. A person, you know?”
She seemed to detect his hesitation and kissed his jaw quickly. “But I would miss this,” she said gently. “So maybe not.”
She laughed slightly, her hand on his jaw affectionately. “If you’re fine on your own, why did you get jealous when I left you to dance with Sariel?”
She laughed slightly, slipping her arms around his waist and hugging him close to her. “Alright, Warns. Sure.”
She was quiet for a moment, thinking. “You wouldn’t hug me like you do if you didn’t want something more out of your existence here,” she said eventually. “I mean, you’re not into me, obviously, and that’s great, but I can’t help but think you’d be happier if you had something with more substance.”
"I couldn't find something more if I wanted to, Addie," he said easily, his voice smooth, "I'm just too rough around the edges."
She looked up at him suddenly, her green eyes wide with alarm. “That’s not true, Warns! You’re... you’re wonderful.”
“You’re... you know. You’re kind and funny and sweet and... delightful. You’re not rough around the edges at all.”
