She went back to her room, closing the door shut and taking off his sweater, going to change into her pajamas. She sniffled and held his sweater close as she got into bed.
She was pretty evidently not okay, her eyes rimmed with red and her lower lip trembling. “Yeah, I’m good,” she responded casually. “What’s up?”
He reached over and wiped a tear. It didn't even smear when he did this, but more so felt the part of the tear he had touched simply disappeared. "Can I come in?"
“I don’t know. Warner and I were talking about what’s going to happen when I have to leave, and I said that I could feasibly just kill myself when I’m on Earth again to get back to him, and he got upset and told me not to, and I just don’t understand. He told me he loves me, but then also tells me to stay away from him longer than necessary, and it just... I don’t get it.”
“What reason?” she asked, sounding desperate. “You’ve seen my life on Earth, Sariel. It’s not worth anything.”
"Oh, Addie. I'm not sure why you think that.. Living is a wonderful experience. I get you want to be with him so soon, but it's good to be able to experience things you might not get to once you're here."
She exhaled slightly, shaking her head. “Sariel, my life is only important to a couple people, and even they would figure it out. Why so I have to live for 80-something years to get to the life that I really want to experience?”
"I think you should try it," he said quietly. "To be honest.. I don't think Warner had much of a life when he had the opportunity, meaning he didn't get to experience much. So that might be why he wants you to?"
