“I don’t know,” she replied honestly. “But whatever I do, you won’t be involved. You don’t have to worry.”
“It’s bothering you,” she said with a sad little shrug. “I can keep this problem to myself so you don’t have to think about it. And who knows? Maybe I’ll forget you.”
His frown deepened. "I.. That doesn't help. I'd rather have you now and.." he shook his head. "Leave if you want to."
She looked down at him for a moment, her brows furrowed, before very deliberately sitting on the bed.
She considered him for a moment before slipping into his lap, cupping his jaw with her hand and kissing him.
Something broke a little inside of her and tears filled her eyes and she buried her head in his shoulder, not saying anything.
