She frowned, waving them away and considering Zad with a frown. The earth under his feet became more malleable and soft, and he began sinking immediately.
She frowned, irritation ticking in the back of her mind. She embraced this feeling and allowed the flames to surround her, engulfing herself and her surroundings in flame.
The shadows disappeared just as Zad managed to free himself. He waited for a moment, as if waiting for a move from her.
She opened her eyes, still covered in flames, and she looked at him for a moment before throwing fireballs at him.
He succeeded, knocking her out of the air and slamming her against the ground. She cried out in pain as her head was slammed against the ground from the impact and she looked up at him for a moment blearily before kicking him in the stomach, pushing him back.
She shook her head for a moment, lying on the ground, trying to catch her breath after having the wind knocked out of her. Her head was splitting and she couldn't speak, closing her eyes as she tried to stop the world from falling around her.
He went over to her side worriedly. Sariel got up from his spot, his wings bristling in slight frustration. "Zadkiel.."
She tried to speak again, but couldn't, her lips not allowing her to tell them not to worry. They would see that her head had been slammed down so hard that it had made an impression with the ground.
Zad seemed shocked, looking around uncertainly. Sariel's wings puffed up defensively at Zad before he turned to Addie, raising his hand. It began to glow a warm golden before he pressed it to her head. It was healing magic.
She relaxed, her wide, panicked green eyes looking at Sariel as he worked before they fluttered closed as he fixed her.
After a few seconds, when she could speak again, she reached up and gently took his hand away. "Leave the headache," she muttered through a dry throat, sitting up slowly.
