The Upside Down (For Eluuna)

She was stretched out next to him, her face buried in her pillow grumpily, her hair extremely messy.

 

She was muttering in her sleep again, stretched out next to him on the white sheets.

 

She leaned into his touch, but was still muttering rapidly.

"Extra fertile dancing carrots zebra exterminate fish..."

 

She woke slowly, squinting at him.

"Oh, you're beautiful."

 

“You’re beautiful, Warner. You are a beautiful man.”

 

She sat up on her elbows, giving him a quick kiss.

"Why are you up?"

 

"I'm happy you're here."

 

She tilted her head thoughtfully, her hand on his chest.

"Thank you for last night," she said. "It was really fun."

 

"You're a really good dancer."

 

She wrinkled her nose, draping her arms around his shoulders.

"I love you."
