He opened the door, gesturing out. "Let's take a walk and try to figure things out. I'll show you around."
She stepped out, raising an eyebrow. "I was promised a brochure," she said, her voice warm with good humor.
He seemed confused. "..Brochure?" He paused before a sigh escaped. "Oh. Those. Warner gave them to me and I hardly use them."
He shook his head. "Not officially. His main job is to just transport people between the realms. Like a reaper, almost."
She laughed despite herself, shaking her head. "That's crazy. And what about you? Are you, like... I don't know. Are you God?"
"A demon? But you didn't get mad when I asked about your hands," she said, raising one eyebrow. "That's not very demonlike."
She laughed, not the least bit unsettled by his gaze. "That's true, but cut me some slack; apparently, I don't know a lot of things I'm supposed to know. What are demons, since my idea is so flawed?"
