Yuri smiled, and kissed Bryz. "Thanks for everything..." She said quietly, nuzzling her. "I hope Dad understands how we feel about each other... I hope he doesn't get mad..."
"He better understand.", Bryz replies quietly, & returns the kiss,"I'm not sure what I'd do if he disagrees with this."
Charlie woke up from her cat nap wondering what happened. "Sorry Dusk, I didn't get enough sleep." She yawned and stretched her legs.
Vergil called Dusk on his radio "I can't find Kutibo or Esy anywhere, even worse news, I just found what caused all the destruction in the West Ponyville, the zombies are adapting! I saw them go from a slow limp into a run and swarm a military recon team."
Dusk looked at his message in dread, and he sent one back. Go to the engine room, and try to find a way to activate the main drive thrusters, but also try to activate security defenses. Please, Vergil... I'm counting you. Dusk shut his commlink, and nuzzled Charlie's cheek, trying to act as if nothing was wrong. He was doing a fine job, too. Yuri smiled at Bryz's affection, "Y-yeah... he'll understand..." She moved closer, and draped one of Bryz's arms over her, closing her golden eyes.
Vergil ran as fast as he could into the engine room, He found a note on the ground "Password : 1975" He then memorized it and approached the console.
"Should we go back to the others?" She said as she walked to the elevator. "How do you work this thing?" She called back.
Dusk slid a card through a slit in the wall, and they went down. "Sorry, I used to be really paranoid, that's why all these locking mechanisms still work. For protection." Dusk walked towards where Bryz was staying, then stopped. He turned to Charlie and walked closer to her, "Charlie? It's about Yuri..." Dusk bit his lip nervously, "Could you be like a mother to her? She's never had one, and I want her to feel like she has a loving mother to take care of her, in case I don't make it?" Dusk looked a little depressed, mentioning their inevitable demise.
Dusk smiled, "Yes, I know that... but... what if the plan doesn't work? What if Celestia beats us, and kills me, like she promised?" He hugged her, "Just promise me you'll be there for her when I'm gone, alright?"
Turning on the main thrusters and security, Vergil thought it was all over. But suddenly Vergil decided it best turned off the Main Thrusters. Knowing Dusk turned off his intercom, he turned on the speakers in the engine room so that all his teammates could hear him "If we leave Equestria, where will we have to go? I'm turning on security, but I'm leaving the main thrusters off."
"Alright, but I want them warmed up and ready to go. Same for the reactor, but I'll get that one." Dusk said into his commlink, "Computer, begin diagnostics and repair sequence." <Yes, sir. Diagnostics reports will reach you shortly, Commander.>
Dusk kissed her cheek, "Thanks Charlie..." Then he entered Bryz's room, and found Yuri in her arms. Yuri was giving Bryz a passionate kiss, when her eyes went wide at the sight of her father. "D-dad!? I-I can explain!" Yuri said, terrified. Dusk only blinked, and left the room. Yuri buried her face in Bryz's mane, scared of what Dusk might do.
Dusk was lying with his face in his arms in his arms at the ship's bar, just a few yards away. He was completely still, thinking about what just happened. He was still thinking when Charlie entered. Yuri was sitting there, with tears in her eyes, "I just want to be happy... and I want him to be happy for me..." Yuri said, burying her tears in Bryz's arms.
Vergil had watched it go down through the security cams "Kid, I'm not an expert on these things, but he looked more surprised then angry.", Vergil said into the mics in a "I hope I'm right" voice
