Fanfics are (or should be) tagged. You can pick what you want to read, you can avoid what you don't want to read. Simple.
Yeah, but usually you should try to start with something *good* in its genre. While I have the tolerance level of the Queen's Guard, most don't and stop at the drop of a hat. I'm usually not deterred by reading a few bad things under the genres I like.
I just read what ever looks good. If it's bad it's only my time I waste. Other then that I read stuff that Big Sims suggests or Past sins because it had a tribute song and stuff members post here when I have time. I don't really care for genre as long as it has good and competent story. I read Of Mares and Magic by accident. I clicked the wrong link. Which I'm glad I did.

Not really, It's a Twilight x Trixie ship fic. There is some action in it. Have you read Fallout Equestria? That should be adventure.
oh i love Post-apocalyptic fall out stories like fist of the north star and casshern sins, i have not read that before but it does sound right down my ally, just the idea of fighting for servival fills me with excitement!
Equestria Daily has a fan fic section, have you ever looked in there? probably have a ton of stuff you would like. I can't wait to start reading Fallout Equestria, It even has songs to go with it.
oh of course ive been on equestria daily, its one the best sorces for brony culture i just never bothered looking at the fanfic news till now, the only reason i never payed attention to it was because i thought the only thing that was trending was shipping and grimdark and i didnt think there would be any well made storys for adventure/science fiction/steam punk i guess i was wrong lol
you've been missing. Another that I read you might like is "It's always sunny in Fillydelphia". It's shipping, but the sequel is adventure. The sequels called "Semper Fidelis" I have yet to read it. but It's at the top of my list.
well i just checked out fallout equestria and i must say it does look epic i cant wait to get started! it really must be worth it considered its 40 chapters so far, and ill be sure to check out those other two stories pixel, you have good tastes
Of Mares and Magic is pretty soul wrenching as it winds on. Explores the mind a bit. It's fairly clever, though.
At miggy and anybody in need of a warm non violent read, I recommend "My little Dashie" is a tad on the long side, but feels so well...
That fic is only a few pages long, isn't it? I didn't get much feeling from it. An entire story built around us loving and relating to the plight and trials of the characters vs. a story written for the sole purpose of destroying the enjoyment of other stories.
This thread, it makes me aware that many people are not as tolerant to fics as I am. Dunno if this should make me sad or proud =/ Probably neither.
Read Cupcakes. Heard it gave people nightmares. Personally, I didn't find it scary as of such... Just plain disgusting!
