Seth was about to respond to Bliss's comment, but had a fresh fish in his mouth. With the fish blocking his attempt to speak, he was forced to finish it before pulling himself aboard to join the herd on the desk. "Well, is the game canceled? Oh well, maybe me, Volt and NightStrike can finally have that drinking contest." He said, smiling at the bunch.
NightStrike thought about that for a second. "Well I should still have them somewhere in my room, wait I'll go to get it, I'll be back as soon as possible." And so he bolted off at best speed, running down the stairs almost crashing into a wall until he got to his room. Actually he was wondering why he seemed to be so hyper. It was like his whole body was being pumped full of adrenaline. He quickly got back to Volt after wandering the deck for a while, not quite able to find him easily trough the thick mist. He showed him the goggles and put them on a while later. "Well Volt, I am able to pick up your heat signature though I can't see any others. Maybe it's because the mist is blocking that too, and well... for the rest, I can't see a thing.... sorry"
*He smiled silently as she left the kitchen, before hearing the oven's loud beep indicating that his meat pie was ready and with his levitation he opened the oven, took the steamy meaty goodness out and placed it on the kitchen's table to cool down a bit, before following the marshmellow alicorn mare upstairs to the deck, where he found her waitingfor him in comfy looking chair with Seth standing beside her and talking about somethingand nodded respectfully to him as he approached Blissy with a determined look on his face* Alright, student Blissy! Are you ready to learn how to use your magic to illuminate your surroundings and then move on to reflect spells with your magic?
Ready and willing! *She fluttered up from her seat like an eagered student then floated back down, a big smile on her face, eagered to learn and impress him* So what do I do first? *She then spotted Seth pulling himself over the rail and giggled realizing he must of been hanging there at least an hour* Sorry Seth! Yes sadly the game is over, I think Skylar got lazy and went to sleep or something. Polaris is going to teach me some new magic skills. You like to watch?
"bahm no worries... i think we have Seth around here.. i can smell is .. meal... from here.. HEY SETH! IF YOU ARE THERE SAY SOMETHING!" "now Nightstrike.. it doesn't mind.. i heard something about Polaris teaching to Bliss some magic tricks and stuff, what about a nice prank? nothing harmfull, just for a laught to this damn fog!" Volt said swinging his hoof on the air, like to wrestle the fog
"Well it does surely sound fun." NightStrike chuckled. "But are you really sure we won't scare her too much? Besides I don't want an angry Polaris on my tail because we have screwed his magic lesson." He thought about it some more, "Mmmmhm anything is better than boring ourselves here in the mist I guess. When you're bored you also take less notice of your environment. And I know that to be deadly all too well."
*He smiled and nodded to Blissy, before he cleared his throat again and took a more posing stance against in front of her* Alright! So the first spell we're going to practice is the basic illumination of your environment, which is very useful in a poorly lit or dark areas such as this fog we're in now. This spell is also quite handy to detect invisible enemies as well. *After his last sentence, he squinted his eyes a bit and his horn began to emit a pure white glow from the tip of it, that lighted up the entire fog covered deck around him in a large area. After a few seconds of maintaining the spell, he broke the spell at last and the deck returned back to it's gloomy grey state from before and looked at the eager alicorn student again expectingly* Now it's your turn, miss Bliss. Remember, in order for this spell to work, you'll have to concentrate on imagining having your horn lit like a northern star, but don't think too hard, since this is quite an easy one for any beginner to learn and doesn't basically wear you out at all from constant use, unlike the next one we're about to learn after this, Blissy!
Ok! *She jumped off the couch after a few seconds of being tranced by Polaris' horn lighting up. She got into the same stance he did...and concentrated hard...She tried to imagine her horn lighting up like he described, to make things brighter... * Gah...errrr...*her eyes squinted shut and a drop of sweat fell from her brow as her horn began to pulse with aura. A flicker of light began to emmit on and off at the tip of her horn...Then after about 30secs of trying...* GAH *the light stopped* I can't do it... it's...it's so hard... Trying to imagine this stick on my head can be used as a flash light...? It makes no sense! *She stomped her hoof in a huff, frustrated she didn't get it right the first time, got back into the stance and tried again..*
"follow me" Volt said trotting near where Blissy was praticing, hiding on the backgrounds objects "eh eh light speel he said? isn't that one of your speciality Nighstrike? ih.. " Volt said pointing his hoof on the nearest lamp, and focusing on it he powered it on at the maximum power possible "now! take away all the light Nighstrike! let's see if this works!"
*Noticing her problem, he walked right next to the struggling Blissy and lifted his left hoof to her shoulder gently and patted it, while smiling warmly and caringly to her* It's alright, miss Bliss! Nopony can learn a new spell just like that! Even I had to struggle some to learn how to use my basic spells at all when I was just a colt. Take it easy and don't try to strain yourself too hard by focusing on to get your horn glowing, since it'll only make your head hurt in the end of the day. This is a very easy spell to master and you'll only need to take it keep your mind calm and focused in order to get it working. I have complete confidence in your abilities and I know you can do, Blissy!
*She smiled to him and his confidence, leaning into his gentle hoof, and took a deep breath...trying once more* Feel the glow...be the glow... it's just a little light... *she focused calmly, not pushing it, not forcing it...Her horn began to glow fluently and soft, a sparkle of rainbow magic as once again a flicker of white light began to appear at the end of her horn* Come on...*breathes again*
Seth maneged to get through the fog and heard Volt. He found him and Night working with a lamp. "Hey, if I may ask, what are you up to?" He asked, looking from the lamp to the two. "If you are trying to improve it volt, just replace it with an led bulb."
Volt looked at his wolf friend raising an eyebrow "nah the next time i am gonna put a nuclear powered device under it, ja? No Seth.. we are trying to get a prank on Blissy, so please be quite and stay down or she will spot you!"
*He kept standing beside the white alicorn mare and nudged her gently with his elbow to her side, while giving her a confident smile to keep her not from giving up* It's alright, miss Bliss. You're almost getting it! Don't give up now! You can do it!
*She smiled as he gave her a nudge of confidence, the flicker seemed to be stablizing at the tip of her horn and was slowly starting to grow in size* I can...almost feel it glowing...
"Well, it has been a while since I last did this you know eehm..." NightStrike muttered trying to remember that particular spell. He frowned a bit in concentration while his horn flickered briefly. Then suddenly one of the lights flickered for a second and went out. "Well that's at least one I guess. We'll get there." He chuckled jokingly. Suddenly his eyes gave a hint of panic as his horn started glowing again. All the lights in the room shone very bright for a short period of time after which they all spat into pieces. "Well dang..... that was unfortunate..." NightStrike said looking around the now dark room
She whinnied aburptly into the air as the lights flickered and suddenly emploded around them. WAO WHAT IN THE WORLD?? Not realizing in the midst of her panic trying to make her horn glow, it suddently exploded and lit her horn on fire...the blaze was large like a over oiled torch. She panicked again at the realization of this, though she wasn't in pain, the fear of setting the ship on fire, or her mane, or anypony else was defiently a fear factor. OH CELESTIA GODS, she ran around in a circle, I"M ON FIRE I"M ON FIRE POLARIS!!!
*Reacting quickly as a lightning on Blissy's panicking and her horn being on fire, he immediately began to look around the deck and happened to find an empty steel bucket lying next to utility cabinet next to the entrance below the deck and lifted it up with his magic from a distance, scooped it through the pool and filled it full with water and hastily threw it in front of Lightning Bliss with some of it's contents splashing around it to the deck, before looking at her and yelled out loud* QUICKLY, MISS BLISS! DIP YOUR HORN INTO THE BUCKET OF WATER!
*She dunked her whole head into the bucket as Polaris ordered, her back legs tremmble horrifically till finally they gave way, making her slump down on her rump. She kept her head in the bucket well over a minute...before finally lifting her head up, only for it to be stuck thanks to her large ears filling it up more. The water poured all over her body, making her coat soaked all the way down to the bone along with her wings. She shivered in the wind thanks to the water...and though her eyes couldn't be seen, her muzzle extended out from under the bucket...her bottom lip was quivering, ready to cry any second with embrassement*
"ughhh... maybe.... ****... newer ask somepony to help you if you can do it yourself.. damn it.." Volt stopped in "ahem.. s..sorry blissy... i maybe.. think.. it was my fault.. nghh" Volt said looking away and rubbinghis hooves one against the other "s..sorry... i planned a prank.. but it turned out.. miserable..." He sat down ready for a rain of words
