Flutters looks at Eris with her eyes all wide and says "No! You can't go have a word with her! Talk to Celestia and she can fix it hopefully." She sighs and was quiet for a couple minutes before saying, "promise you won't talk to her."
Eris blushed, realising too late she'd made another mistake. "I'm sorry; I won't, I promise." She looked away in shame. "I know I haven't done anything to prove it, but you can trust me, Fluttershy. I'll earn your confidence back if it kills me."
"Oh babe, you will" she says, "but if you must talk to some pony I rather you do it with Celestia. I know she doesn't put up with things like that." Flutters gets up and holds out her hand. "Are you ready to go? I'm hungry."
Eris took Flutters' hoof happily. "Of course~" She pecked her on the cheek as she got up, and they headed through the door together. "So, what do you fancy?" Eris asked, as they walked down the road towards town. "I could go for a stir fry..."
"Stir-fry sounds good. I could go for a tea and ramen too" Flutters says. While walking down in town, she notices ponies staring at them. She hides her face, in fear tears will start again. A couple minutes later, they arrive at the place. "Oh good, we're here!" she says while rushing in.
Just before following Flutters in, Eris turns around and snarls at the staring ponies, sending them all scurrying off. She chuckled to herself; hopefully that'd teach them not to stare. They could think what they wanted in private, but she wouldn't have anypony upsetting Fluttershy with public judgement. She headed in to see how Flutters was getting on.
Flutters turns to Eris. "There's a 40 minute wait. Did you want to wait or go somewhere else?" She was hoping Eris would just want to grab food and go home. Deep down she knew Eris was right about her having to stand up for herself.
"40 Minutes?" Eris looked around at all the empty tables. "Just give me a second," She walked up to the pony at the counter and grinned her best dangerous grin. "Hello, my dear friend and I require a table; do you think there's anyway you could get to us a bit quicker? I tend to get grouchy when I get hungry..." A moment later, she walked back to Fluttershy, grinning happily. "They found us a table, and the food will be ten minutes, or our money back."
Flutters looks at Eris. "I told you not to do that. But I guess I'll let this pass since I'm hungry." Once at the table, Flutters opens the menu and stares inside for about 2 minutes till decided what she wanted. "Teriyaki chicken stir-fry and ramen...Oh I can't forget the tea!" she mumbles while looking at the flavor teas. "Do you know what you want yet?" she asked.
Eris leaned on the table and rested her chin on her arms. She looked at Fluttershy for a moment. "I've already everything I could ever want~"
Flutters blushes and puts her head down slightly. "You know what I meant babe" she says, "did you just want to share the stir-fry or have your own?"
Eris smiled a little sheepishly at Fluttershy's reaction, and thought for a moment. She was still pretty full from the pancakes... "I'd like to share, if you don't mind."
"Oh good! I don't think I would be able to eat both." The waiter came up and with an attitude asked for their order. Once Flutters was finished with the order, the nasty waiter rolled her eyes and left. "I think I should talk to Celestia. She really would get ponies on their knees if needed." She glanced out the window where she seen Rarity and Twilight walking and laughing. "I wonder if they heard about the news yet" she thought.
Eris made a slightly pained groaning noise. She didn't like the idea of Fluttershy going to Celestia for help. For starters, she felt her marefriend needed to stick up for herself more; and she was also a little upset that she'd ask Celesita for help rather than her; she would be more than capable of putting these ponies in their place if Fluttershy would just let her... She knew Fluttershy wouldn't agree, however, so she just nodded. She knew she still had some making up to do.
After a few moments of silence, the waiter came with the food. "Oh..thank you. It looks good" Flutters says to the waiter. The waiter gave a smirk and walked away. She takes a bite of the ramen and nearly spit it out. Across the room you hear laughing and ponies high-fiving. She looks up and gives a look as to say can we just go home. "I-I'm sorry."
Eris had had enough. "You have nothing to apologise about," She said, with barely contained anger. What was wrong with these ponies? Why couldn't they just let her and Fluttershy go about their business in peace? She could understand them harbouring some resentment towards her, but taking it out on the mare she loved? She could not let that go unanswered. The only reason she didn't send them all to a particularly nasty level of Tartarus was because she knew it would only upset Fluttershy more, but she had to do something... "I'll be right back," She said, standing up and starting to walk over to the cackling ponies.
"No don't" Flutters says but realizes it was too late. She just sat there with tears filling up but wiped them away. "I can't let Eris see me crying again!" she thought. Flutters sat for a couple minutes wondering what the love of her life was doing. She got up and walked over by Eris. "Eris..w-what did you do?" She looked around and was shocked.
Eris chuckled. The ponies had all been turned into changelings, but in form only. They would be stuck this way for a week, and hopefully it would teach them something about the cruelty of being unfairly judged and ostracised. She turned to Fluttershy. "It's better than they deserved." She took her hoof gently. "Come on; lets get the materials we need the squirrel's house; unless you'd rather just go home?" She said the last part in a tone that said 'I'll understand if you want to, but I'll be so proud if you don't'.
"I can't believe you did that" Flutters muttered. One of the changed ponies kinda looked like Rainbow Dash, well just the colors atleast. "We can go to the store to get the supplies and maybe grab some food to cook at home." They walked out the restaurant and headed towards the store. Any pony that seen them didn't bother staring. Flutters thought it was because Eris was giving dirty looks and was probably pointing towards the restaurant where the "changelings" came out. She knew she had to start standing up for herself. Flutters lifted her head high and walked like she didn't care what any pony thought.
Eris couldn't help but feel proud of Flutters as she walked tall for once, instead of just hiding behind her mane. She knew she couldn't change her completely, and she wouldn't want to, but she counted this as a victory. Say what you will about Ponyville, but news travels fast in that town, and by the time they reached the store, nopony was giving them a hard time. They collected the pieces they needed for the house, then went to look at the food. "So what do you fancy?" Eris asked. She assumed Flutters was no longer in the mood for stir fry and ramen...
